Note : This is just my 2 cents on it.
TQ for ur comments. I'm appreciate it. How about Samsung LA32A450?

ikan_semilang : Colors are vibrant for the ps3 and 360 I set the output to 1080P and downscale to what resolution the LCD is capable of. Noticeable difference is colors. 720P will get better colors but the images are not as sharp. Sadly the sound produced by the LA32A450C1 is only marginally better than LG or Toshiba Regza.
(OT)
There is an audio out from the LCD TV so I hooked it up to my Speakers and Sub-Woofer unit.
NOTE: The LA32A450 speakers are down firing and are reflected to the back of the LCD TV compared to other manufacturers.

About all of these selections, I suppose someone who isn't tech inclined of sorts won't really be able to tell the difference, no? Like 1080 or 720p? I'm sure not everyone that walks in for their first HDTV purchase knows or understand what all the fancy terms means, despite how big their wallet is

I bought the Samsung LA32A450C1. I did quite alot research on the net and go find out/look at all the models available in harvey norman, best denki, HSL, Carrefour, Jusco, shops.
The result is for around 2.6k price, samsung LA32A450C1 is quite a good choice with good graphics and design. I take a look at sony's Bravia, they dont look good with their prices.
Another choice is sharp Aquos. good graphics but quite expensive.

LG/Samsung/Philips. These are the cheapest few. I cant recall any particular model though. If u really want to save, u should buy a 'phasing out' model. Best place for you to hunt is hypermarkets, they often do 1 model only heavy discount kinda promotion.
Anything new is just overcooked, LCD performance as we know it will only fall flat on your face. Watever you do, try to stay away from 32" model. I have one which is purchased years ago. Adequate at that time, but no longer holds the candle to the latest slew of bigger boys.

i have a few tips.. dont use edge enhancements if your pairing with ps3.. coz jagginess really become very obvious.. i generally try to avoid those noise reduction also coz i think those are made of inputs more inferior than HDMI.. they actually kill of the details (try for yourself)

Hi all,
Need some sifu here to advice.
Currently I am using my laptop to watch DVD with my 37" LCD TV, connected via VGA (RGB) cable. The pic quality is acceptable and I am not sure if a DVD player with HDMI would makes it even better? or maybe juz a slight diff?
Is the pic quality from my setup now is limited due to the:-
1) vga cable?
2) graphic card?
3) software i used to watch DVD?
the output to my TV is 1360 X 780, picture is superb, but when I watch DVD, the resolution dropped to 780 X 480 (based on the info from media player classic).
If there is a huge differences from a HDMI DVD player compared to PC input, then i might consider getting one...
Any advice?
