My clan leader wants me to be an Overlord (not hard to guess why) and I'm just about to change classes. I initially preferred to be a Warcryer since it's better solo-ing and gets invited to parties easily and is decent with only one set of armors and weapons. I've been doing my shaman days beating everything up with a Bich'Hwa in an Elven Mithril (faster because of the MPs for continuous Soul Crying) and now I'm nearly there...

How do overlords level up when you're not with clannies? I've read that Heavy and Dagger (focus) works fine but what if I choose to play with a mystic weapon and robe? How does one solo that way? I mean game style, what skill to use or combination of them? While I managed to find funds for a weapon, I can't afford a set of heavies (FP set cost 10+mil and I don't want to wear cheapskate armors since it's not pretty). Is it possible for an overlord to solo the mystic way? Or must I swallow my pride and get the Dwarven Chain Armor and some dagger.

If your clan leader wants you to play a class that is difficult to solo, ask him this, "Will he get clannies to assist you in lvling up? " If he can and even if he is willing to do it then change. No doubt you would sacrifice a great deal by not playing what you prefer, but if ur clan leader is willing to help you gear up and also lvl, then it's up to you to decide.

Since u're gonna b good for the clan make sure your clannies assist you in lvling and gearing up.

hehe time has changed.. now koli is the leader of the clan and i take over the overlord job ^^

im lvl 66 now and its gettin harder >.<.. ive been searchin all over the internet about lvling OL at higher lvl which brings me here~ hehe.
the forum that i went just now said that at higher level (A grade) OL shud use DC Robe all the way.. but im not sure do i still need to hit like i used to be in heavy? or nuke and hit a little? or nuke all the way? hmm.. gonna experiment with my DC tonight~

anyway my clannies do help me out sometimes ^^ especially the leader koli ^^

Yeah, I know how it felt, that's why I do help with Frey once in awhile. It felt horrible back then. I was asked to solo. Even told to use +4 STR -4 CON dyes (REALLY EXPENISIVE FOR ME THEN!). At one point, the leader didn't want me in the clan because of "no space" and tell me to come back when I'm level 60. That was the last straw.

but well... our reason of being Overlord is different.. i want to be an OL cuz of the uniqueness of the character.. i love buffer class, but as we already know bufffer classes like prophet and shilen elder is no more than just a buff tool for one's main character. this makes buffer players like me feel pathetic. i handplay my prophet.. even solo it.. but it seems useless.. those dual box buffers are way higher level than me.. so who needs a real prophet if they have their own.. better one.. and dont even have to share their xp with the buffer. same goes to shilen elder.

thus i decided to play an overlord.. the only buffer/half buffer class that no body wud dual box. and it can also do some great effects on mobs and enemies. unique game style and unique skills.. to make it simple being an OL comes from my own desire, so i guess it gives me stronger encouragement to continue playing it. (although there are times that feel like i want to stop and back to concentrate on my prophet >_<).

so.. even if i wont get any help, kill lower lvl mobs, use lots of potions, buying expensive eqpmnts..etc.. i will still hold to it.. cuz i have made my mind.. and i believe this is my role in RPG

nobody said they're good in solo pve, they solo cuz they have to get their lvl up when they cant have anybody to help em/party with em.
nobody like to solo as an OL.. but life as an OL is like that~ nobody wants you to party with >.< thus, we have to solo~
