just got x48 dk.... the big bro of this p35 dk. pushed my 8400 to 4.2g @ 1.31v. IIRC.... nb volt do play important roles. seems like nb n vcore must be balance.dunno y. n the d*mn EIST didnt function correctly. c1e yup. the solution? C1E + RMCLOCK.
EIST RESULT
1.31v vcore + EIST = 1.40v idle @ multi 9
1.31v vcore + C1E = 1.31v idle/load @ multi 6
1.31v vcore + C1E + RMCLOCK = 1.28v idle @multi 6 / 1.31v @ multi9
will test this mobo again later.

I mentioned here and in the Technical Support forum before, jy14 even helped me to email DFI technical support regarding the matter. My HDD, particularly only
Seagate 7200.11 32MB 500GB will suffer read/write error and intolerable slow performance for a SATA HDD after certain usage like few days after fresh installation. I reformatted my drive a few times and yet the same. Some time it can't even detect my HDD which in the end I need to switch SATA port to re-enable my HDD. Tried both in SATA IDE and SATA AHCI mode, it's carrying the same symptom. It's even worse that it later the run on ATA33 speed which absolutely absurd to use.
Now I did a BIOS update and everything just fine
