Those using D9GMH/D9GKX, mind testing if you can run 4-3-3-9 or 4-4-3-9 450mhz with 2.05v/2.1v or not. What's the lowest tRas it can go? Thanks. smile.gif

Is anybody using a PSU with only 4-pin +12v power line to connect to the mobo?

I'm transferring my Blood Iron to my 2nd rig, noted the PSU has only 4-pin 12v, and doesn't fit the CN9 slot indicated in the mobo's manual.... rclxub.gif

Edit : It fits THE OTHER 4-slots of the 8-pin slots....

Hey, thx for the nice pic. thumbup.gif notworthy.gif

That's where my 4-pin goes too. However, the manual say THE OTHER 4-slots, which is indicated by the CN9 word.... so how?

Yours have a CN9? Can't see well..... (what does your manual say? hmm.gif)
sniper69
hmm.gif, seems i don't have that "CN9" thingy...
kmarc
Hmmm..... don't know whether I want to risk switching on the rig or not.....

I triple check the slots and it fits correctly, just NOT at the CN9 side.... doh.gif
sniper69
IMO, the 4-pin CPU power is fool proof, meaning you can just plug in and shouldn't be wrong since the one with boxy pin/hole or whatever you call it... won't fit on if-you-know-what-i-meant... sorry, i can't explain tongue.gif doh.gif... but don't take the risk la... i won't be responsible... need to confirmation icon_idea.gif

Yeah, I know what you mean.

I don't want to buy another PSU...... I think I will just plug it in and switch it on (as soon as I get a PCI-E card)..... wish me good luck.... sweat.gif

Come to think about it, maybe they just label the whole 8-pin connector as CN9, and not the 4-slots at the side of the CN9.... hmm.gif

Anyway, thx for the feedback. Appreciate it. thumbup.gif

i think you no need to flash to newer bios as the default bios can take any C2D/C2Q proc.

if you getting E8400, then you can flash it to the latest bios, as i'm also using it and was ok.

by the way, i'm using winflash flash the bios, damn scary as the progress bar showing 4% for over 1minute before
it jump into "flash complete" screen. feeeeewwwwwwwww sweat.gif sweat.gif that was close!!!!!!!!!!! sweat.gif

For Q series, you should go for UT/LT version which allow adjust GTL ref. manually & the Vdroop Control Option thumbup.gif

But for dual core, DK is definitely better than DS3 in term of vcore & vdimm. btw, mind to tell me below the info?
For vdimm
BIOS set: BIOS reading: Speedfan reading (idle) : Speedfan reading (full load)

2.3v is for running 3.6GHz with 514fsb @ 4-4-4-8, now running 3.5GHz with 500fsb @ 4-4-4-8, 2.2v smile.gif

I don't usually go for high-end stuff.... more on value-for-money parts.... that's why didn't buy the UT/LT version..... smile.gif

Vdimm aaa?
Bios set +0.3v (2.1v) : Bios reading 2.11v
Speedfan (shows as vcore2) idle : 2.13v, load (blend test) : 2.08v

Why you ask? hmm.gif

Weird. I plugged in the 4-pin +12v and OC the same rig, everything seems to be the same as plugging in the full 8-pin.... rclxub.gif

Same vdroop, same overclocking abilities.....

Update : Hmmmm..... but during stressing... the rig is not as stable... have to lower the OC.... hmm.gif

guys.... want to ask... whats the temp for ur chipset for this mobo? as mine will go around 50-54c in the afternoon.... is this considered hot?
overclockalbert
smart guardian reported wrongly for chipset and pwm temp.
double check to comfirm that.

chipset can withstand over 70C iirc.
tkh_1001
well bro...what other software that u use to double check? everest?

core temp or realtemp , or speedfan also can

yeah...teh bios is kinda hard to understand..

but one thing weird is my proc have base VID of 1.2v with gaygaybyte mobo then have 1.16v with this mobo rclxub.gif

but anyways.. i realised this mobo needs slightly higher vcore to obtain the same clock... still tweaking my way thru though....
