i guess you have to test out each by urself, it seems diffferent combination will give u different result for each different set of hardware......so patience and abundance of time will yiled the best result......

so far i only see e2140 with this baby ? everyone waiting for q9450 ??

Yeah... however, the combination is too much to play with... and furthermore doesn't know what setting those are for... afraid later screwed up everything resulting in smoke coming out sweat.gif.

I'm having Q6600 on it, but haven't start anything yet tongue.gif. Noober in OC... didn't even try before... so gotta see see look look properly before I getting started sweat.gif.

No vdroop? Wow, this is indeed a good mobo....

Errr..... rumour has it that crucial rams don't really like high voltages, especially over 2.2v...... (Edit : .... even with ram cooling....)
-=J4cKa5s=-
There are not recommend to use more than 2.2V for Crucial RAM, if u wan to raise the VDRAM, u should hv cooling kits for ur RAM... biggrin.gif

How's the vdrop/vdroop of this mobo with a quad? hmm.gif

it's not about DFI, DFI always better IMO, but it's the processor... actually i tried straight up to 1.500 on 450, and forgot to revert back to stock or lower, thinking to get back to stock voltage since i'm on Team Extreme now...

possible to post the screenie of the CoreTemp for your Q6600?

btw, there is a common problem for this mobo, I dunno what does it called in english, but it is something like this...

when you turn off the pc with the main switch off (or psu off with no power supplies to the mobo) and when you on it again, it will on and off awhile, then on again and continue running as well. the situation looks like overclocking on P35 mobo.
a1098113
@gsan
its double posting. Or cold boot IMO. I have this problem(not sure whether its a problem or an advantage). Btw, for my board, its fixed with a BIOS update.

You're temperature is way too high. sweat.gif

Use core temp 0.96.1 to see the temperature.....

Are you using stock CPU heatsink fan?

yaya, double posting, normally it will happen only if you change some certain main setting in bios. for my DK P35, once I overclock the FSB over 500MHz, then will have this double posting each time I on the pc.

btw, you all can have a look on this if you can read mandarin as well

Yeah, better get a good HSF....

That's a good OC. Even my Q6600 needs 1.312v to run at 3.2Ghz..... very bad vdroop on my motherboard....

What vcore did you set in BIOS?

It is better to run at higher FSB/bus speed as your components will be communicating faster with each other..... hence the lower multiplier with higher FSB

I actually tried 7x multiplier but couldn't boot.... lazy to test for CPU FSB wall....

Oh, BTW, if you want to stress the Q6600, you should "Small FFTs" test rather than "Blend test" in prime95...

Errr... please note that orthos doesn't stress all 4 cores.... download the new Prime95 (v25.5 and above) and use that instead....

Note : You can run 2 instances of orthos but may get the core affinity error.... rclxub.gif

that's without graphic card and the position is facing the graphic card PCB, how about facing other direction?

doh.gif, running on stock Team Extreme DDR2 800MHz, all went well until i started overclock the RAM, hitting DDR2 1000MHz is easy with loose timing, rebooting... doh.gif, the system cannot boot anymore, thinking maybe too much, lowering down the CPU frequency by using CPU multiplier, still the same... increasing vDIMM too... nothing change, swap slot 1st trial on orange slot, 2nd on yellow slot, still... nothing change, it just won't boot... i was like... doh.gif shocking.gif, thinking maybe i killed the RAM, try on single module A... will boot, DIMM1, DIMM2, DIMM3 and DIMM4, but on module B, it won't boot no matter which slot i plugged... guess i killed the RAM, tried on my other system... MSI P35 Neo2-FR, doh.gif, voila... went well over DDR2 1125MHz @5-5-5-15 (without any tweak initially)... i was like... oh my, what's going on here... currently on 2x1GB Kingston ValueRAM + 1x1GB Aeneon ValueRAM both @DDR2 781MHz @5-5-5-15

use of memset and setfsb is just to make lazy ppl from restarting the comp
for asus mobo's usually safer as whenever we restart it will does a immediate shut off spin of the HDD.. killing it easily..

3.
this option only available on 05/12 (beta) & 24/12 bios. it is actually how many times the mobo will reset the setting once the overclocking failed.

4.
this option works together with the fsb jumper setting on the mobo. and also, this setting mainly used for solve the double posting. for 1333fsb, select 2, 1066fsb choose 3 whereas 800fsb choose 4.
