One thing i like zero dac bcos it is more suitable for non tech persons ( like me ) , can just plug and play with op amps at any time.

I have an entry level tube pre amp that landed somewhere for more than 2 months, still in the process of " reinstating back to default state ". Sometimes it is quite hard to depend on somebody else to do IT for us. They may not have the time anyway. While still waiting, I bought another Tube amp as a replacement, which might not be needed in the first place.

I have a Q for you, hope you do not mind.

My Earth that came with the extended wire ( forgot the exact name ) , sometimes not careful would hit the circuit board and cause a small spark . I used TACK IT to stick the earth to the casing. Would there be an overheating problem ? Do you mind to share a better way to seal it ?

that extended wire is ground cable u need to solder it to the ground of the PCB board and not casing bcoz if u put to the casing is call earth not ground u can solder it to ur RCA ground. at the board .... wut i found if not ground that cable sound abit dull n blur

Some poison: Emmm ... highs sound abit harsh compare to quite well burned in Earth at first listening, vocal certainly thicker than the Earth, soundstage emm ... it's smaller than the Earth, well that's the nature of warm sound Still gotta burn in more to see the real beast ... my EARTH still havent well burn in yet, I guess just roughly around 50hours ... casual listening all the time

I had a chance to listen to the cap mod (lots of ELNA, Nichicon, Red German WIMA and silver MICA) of the version 1 ZERO. all I can say about the zero is very nice piece of works.

The transparency become very obvious and I like the way NILS LOFGREN pluck his acoustics, with conviction and weight. The vocal is more natural, meaty and overall it is very musical. Bass has more attack and more control.

2. Stability and Noise killing mod for digital section (PS bypass replaced with Silver Mica)
3. Ground loop breaker mod (better caps)
4. More capacitance for the main analog stage, from 4400uF to 6600uF
5. More capacitance for the digital stage with Silmic II parallel, from 2000uF to 2330uF and bypass.

I have a OPA earth. Can someone exchange OPA Sun with my Earth.

How about the sound quality?

My first impression with OPA Earth is nothing short of surprises. Each time with the OPA release, the sound quality improve by another level.

The Moon OPA is more transparent, surprisingly than OPA Earth. The vocal is warm as in thick and airy. Listening to the Jazz at Pawnshop, the bells are not as bright as OPA Earth which is more neutral. The bass department is good too and dynamics response is so so only. Overall Moon does excell than OPA Earth. surprise.

Emmm .... i think it's the transparency makes me feel that the high is abit bright, too much of transparency reveals my music's bad quality recording Vocal is abit thick to me ... I mean I could feel the singer's vocal but the more closed in sound cant clearly describe the surrounding ... emmm ... I think EARTH still the one for me

Earth - I found neutral not dynamic either warm
Sun -
Moon -

emmm ....

Earth - neutral not dynamic either warm, quite an allrounder here I love this very well
Sun - dynamic, more extended at both end, forward vocal
Moon - surprisingly quite transparent, as chua mentioned it's even more transparent to EARTH, thick vocal, bass is there but seems like bass impact not as well as EARTH ... emmm ... not quite my cup of tea, sounds abit closed in, i think it's gonna take at least 50hours to show it's true color

It seems as though OPA Moon fits the amp very well. If u have solid state amp, putting OPA Moon in it will furhter surprise u.

single ended class A is really making a difference.

Earth - Really an allrounder
Sun - When i plug it into my amp, only got Bzzzzzzzzzzzz i thought it was burnt LOL (Using in DAC nw)
Moon - This 1 really suprised me, compare 2 earth, more transparent and.... Errr.... Juz a noob, dunno hw 2 say... But i really like this opamp~

Emm ... i got only one EARTH, sorry to tell you that ... u got the CD-63 off hifi4sale? Cos I seen one selling few days ago ... Heard that bypass the original HDAM does makes it sound more transparent, emmm ... CD63 does sound musical and the HDAM is quite influential to the sound, IMHO maybe u should play with the internal cable connecting to the RCA female, try with high quality copper cable see how it sound Sometimes I feel that musical sound is abit more difficult to tune compare to transparency sound, just hope to you could improve further in details and dynamic without losing the musicality

HI I am newbie in the ZERO DAC,

I just received all OPAMP together and my new headphone SHP8900 yesterday afternoon....huraaaayyyy
I just listen to music and watch movie(source laptop) using the std one from the DAC and my new headphone, sound nice and much more better than those just headphone ~$20-50.....but haven't try the all the 3 Discrete OPAMP and also compare by connecting directly to my AVR using my HT....don't know which one better.

Actually, this investment more for travelling purpose......keeeeee

Anyone have bring this DAC out of the country before, I wonder any problem when go out and in to the country like European countries... and back to Malaysia....
