thanx
will check wif my lecturer
any good prosumer model?
cant change lense rite?
valho
you can't change lens on prosumer, but they do have wide-angle, tele and macro converter
mindkiller6610
prosumer has M functions, that's y it is called prosumer,

user can manually set the ISO, Shutter Speed, Aperture values..

I used to have canon s3is, feature wise, s3is still beats my d40,
it has exposure bracket, focus bracket, interval timer..

i change to dslr becoz i wan better noise control, wanna try different lenses.

and for most prosumer, u dun need to change the lens, the lens is built for all-purpose, from macro to tele zoom, 12x zoom is sufficient for most of the time..

i am not discouraging u to get dslr, but dlsr is expensive, hard to use at first time, and u need to invest more..

it is better u to try with prosumer first.. and technologies become cheaper everyday, u can get a better DSLR in future at the same or even lower price.

for good prosumer, try look for canon s5is, or panasonic fz series, they are good too..

good cam like Nikon D70 or Canon 350D (2nd hand cost only around RM1350 to RM1500). Get a cheap 2nd hand kitlens around RM200-250.

after the assignment you can sell back the cam + lens with same price you bought.

I'd chooise S3IS instead of S5IS... extra bucks can be used for bigger memory storage, or maybe a basic tripod.

yup
he knows coz he is a photo lecturer not archi lecturer laugh.gif

asked him already
he said can get a prosumer also b'coz got M function
what is this M function for though?
control aperture?shutter speed?iso? only that?
clivengu
Get rm1999 Sony Alpha A200. The cheapest DSLR u can find now..

Im in interior architecture... So i believe is better for u to buy a dslr with kit lens that cover up to 18mm wide angle. compare to Prosumer... usually 28mm onwards if not mistaken

U need wide angles for arhitecture most of the case to capture the whole mass of the building... or an interior space.

M= Manual. u can control both aperture and shutter speed & Iso of course.. But again.. the credit goes to the changeable lens if u go for Dslr.

DSLR with wide lens= good for Architectural shooting.. Interior Space or Buildings.

Prosumer / Point n shoot= good for taking scaled models.. bcause of the micromode.. u can shoot very close to ur models. But dslr oso can do that..but u need a suitable lens for that. Normal Kit lens require like 1.3 Feet distance from ur objects.

Not sure what shooting r u going to make.. but again..better to invest on DSLR. Another question is ..Willu enjoy shooting? If no,... u can forget dslr n just get a PnS with Manual mode...just for d sake of ur assignment..

soulfly
for macro, the longer the better
kazasho
ok
seriously thinking on getting s5is

got text from my lecturer that need a cam that can control aperture, shutter speed n have good optical zoom

so i assume s5is have it all

small mm=wider lens
big mm=larger zoom

so big mm=macro better?

For RM1.5k

Either you get a

Used Canon 350D DSLR OR New Canon S5 IS

It depends on your budget and what you are shooting. smile.gif
