Maxis currently having the RM178 * 24 for a HP Laptop, USB Modem that comes with the RM138 package.

Celcom offers the RM99/month package and it cost around RM400 to get the modem.

Thus I'm wondering which service should I get? In Lowyat I've heard alot of negative stuff about Maxis, but is Celcom any better?

Or are there other better wireless options???

Please Please the Maxis offer ends at 31st I would like to know everything about the Wireless Broadband available here.

Typically:

1.Coverage

2.Stability

3.Speed Consistency

4.Any limitations? Monthly Cap/ Throttling/ Blocking

5.Hidden Charges

Hi,
If i were you i would go for celcom 99 package a month, i have just register last year , the performance is great, and also the coverage is wide, cause i m living in sarawak, not to say you living in K.L , i guess the 3G is widening almost to remote area.I using sony Ericsson w660i to connected online 3g.
And also now i buy this option GT MAX 3.6 Express with USB connection via my p.c, also i can used its for any Laptop that have pci express slot. I buy its from lowyat for for the price Rm.620 including postage.

i also have same prob.........
n now, i decide to take celcom broadband.......
what pakage should i take????

safar...... what type pakage u take??? ur speed is fast laa.....

Yes it is fast sometime...There was once someone getting 3300kbps at Alamanda Putrjaya b4! (Only wth Sieera 875U) BUT...The connection is unstable!! That probably his fastest so far but due to unstable speed, it can fluctuate from a low of "0" (Lost connection-lah) to as high as 1800kbps) & that high only for a while....That's the sad thing about wireless broadband (whichever the service providers are)...

I recently gatal & upgraded my package from D68 to D98 and sadly my avg only ~600kbps at bt14 Puchong!! cry.gif B4 this & b4 the celcom upgrading stage in Nov/Dec 2007, D68 was not capped & I can get max of 900++..now upgraded and enjoying 600++ only..and that speed also fluctuate from a low of "0" to 700kbps!! Damn..nxt mth probably downgrade to D68 again since stable speed is only ~360kbps... cry.gif

So, if u r on streamyx..maintained it..much stable at ~1200-1600kbps most of the time compare to wireless (Celcom) fluatuated speed of 0-3300kbps!

BTW, the ping using streamyx can be as low as 32ms compare to lowest of HSDPA of 100ms!! Thats another factors to look into!
