Full Version: Why my multiplier will not stay at x8 in cpuz?

Hi all, i would like to ask why my multiplier will not stay at x8, but keep on jumping from x6 to x8, then back to x6 again. rclxub.gif
I have set the voltage to around 1.45v and i dare not to increase anymore cause i'm using the stock cpu fan oly for now..

EIST and C1E function. Thats just typical of an Intel proc these days. You can alter it in the BIOS .

So izit normal?? cause this is my first time using C2D. I burnt my asus m2n32-SLi (AMD) just few weeks back, so i damn scare burning another mobo. sweat.gif

LoL... so much volts for 3.2ghz on that processor, you better read up on ocing before you fry your processor

it is speedstep. intel's tech. n as said above in bios it will be as "EIST and C1E function"

n yeah, ur over volting. it is really high voltage. i overclocked my q6600 to 3ghz. n yet i managed to undervolt it. lesser than 1.3v

just noticed the Voltage lol. Bro... u can use stock voltage to get that speed u have.....

Now i set all voltage to normal. But the cpuz showed 1.456v and core temp show 1.35v.
So, basically trust cpuz or core temp??

For your notice, i using the gigabyte mobo P35-DS4

Besides the EIST and C1E function, what else can cause this problem??? (I set my voltage to auto juz in case burning another mobo sweat.gif )
Anything do wif my ram??? i set it to 5-5-5-18 for now..

i using e6750, gigabyte mobo GA-P35-DS4, 4GB ram PC2-6400 (400Mhz) Corsair Ram and winfast 8600 GTS 256mb.
