Hi all, getting a psp-slim soon. Wanna know NAND have to be backed up before flashing to CFW or it can be done after the flash?

Reading a lot from the net and I understand that to play games smoothly, have to stick to CFW 3.71 M33 does it matter if it's -2 -3 or -4?

The latest 3.90M33-3 still have the problem with game lag? Does changing UMD Mode to Sony np9660 or changing the cpu speed to 333 help?

Thanks in advance biggrin.gif

better backup ur nand before flashing since nand is required to revive ur psp if bricked.
and chances of psp to be brick is
- installing firmware
- accidentally delete files in flash0
- replaced wrongly custom themes

and u are getting new one,so the shop might already flashed with latest firmware.so no worries bout that.

most shop already flashed the psp with CFW... but the firmware will diffrent for each shop. Bernard will u give psp with latest firmware 3.90 m33. SCE with give psp with 3.71 m33.

3.90m33 already have a patch to resolve the speed issue. And most people with 3.90 CFW said they dont have any speed problem after apply the patch.

Thanks for the reply biggrin.gif

OK say when i got it from the shop and it's already flashed, do i still have to backup the NAND before doing any firmware upgrades?

The patch is in 3.90 m33 itself or is it using fatmspatchv2?

Thanks biggrin.gif

Hehe, new user pop some question here biggrin.gif
If i charge PSP left 50% is it ok for that or i need to use it until end?
USB charge will harm PSP? Sometime i do transfer thing and left there it will charge from USB connection.

After I stick the protector, i feel got dust inside with bubble, is it can do anything for that?

I was using PSP video 9 to convert a MPEG4 AVC 1080p file to an AVC 480x272 768kbps Stereo/128kbps, but all I get is "Unsupported data" under the video menu. Has anyone encountered this problem before? The resolution and bitrate falls under the compatible list of PSP, how come it was not playable?

what makes you think it will burn the mobo easily?, voltage too high? sweat.gif .. If it kills the psp, there wont be any options of " charging battery via usb " in the psp

Just wanna ask some question here,

I`m currently using psp slim updated with the latest custom firmware 3.90 M33-3. I`ve heard about firmware 3.71 that provide a stable gameplay. Somehow, by downgrading the firmware I`m afraid some games can`t be played. I had a few laggy issues to certain games such as tekken 5, winning eleven 2008, etc etc.. Whenever I play tekken 5, ( the screen load for arcade mode for character selection started lagging for 1-2.5 seconds ). And as I proceed to more than battle #10. There is a laggy movement in the game. As for winning eleven 2008, there`s a lil lag while playing in game too.

1. What are the negative effects of tweaking the CPU CLOCK GAME?

2. Does a normal MSPD and a high speed MSPD makes a difference during gameplay?

3. What are the alternative methods to speed up the gameplay

Fab-4
1.No..Just overclock ur CPU to 333mhz.Nothing to be scared of.

2.Not really i guess.

3."Uncompress"

Nope, I thought its only for 3.71? blink.gif. And the effects for 3.++ kernel memory results is still unknown. Not sure whether its safe.

Its for 3.80m33 and 3.90m33. It patches using the fatmsmod.prx from firmware v3.71. As for the kernel memory usage, i didnt find any problem yet for my PSP.
