Alright, since many requested for a guide on it,i've created this one. It's very simple, and if you follow the steps correctly, you should end up with 5.00M33 installed on your psp.
Note : There have been many cases of bricks upon upgrade,so it's up to you to take the risk.Otherwise,it's all good.Requirements : 1)A phat/slim psp which has custom firmware 3.52m33-3 or any firmware above it.
*Minimum requirement is 3.52m33-3*
Guide1) First of all,you need to set your kernel to 3.xx/4.xx.You can do so in recovery mode or in your VSH menu (if you have the VSH addon plugin installed)
**Recovery : Hold the off switch for 3-5 seconds, then HOLD R and boot your psp up.Now go to configuration, and click X at the "Game Folder Homebrew" option until it displays as 3.xx/4.xx kernel.Example : On a 3.52m33-3/4 psp,it should show as 3.52 kernel. 2) Download the 5.00M33 installer
here3) Download the 5.00 eboot.pbp
here4) Use your preferred software to extract the 5.00M33 rar file. You should now get two folders (UPDATE and Translate) as well as a readme.txt file.
5) Copy the UPDATE folder and paste it in ms0:/PSP/GAME.
** It should now look like this : ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/eboot.pbp **
6)Time,for the 5.00 eboot (step 2).
7) Copy the 500.PBP and paste it in your ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE directory.
** It should now look like this : ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/eboot.pbp and 500.pbp **
8) That's all, seriously. All you need to do now is to run the installer on your PSP.
** The installer will seem very official like, but don't worry, that's how it's supposed to be like **
9)
Remember, once the update is over,PRESS X/O when it asks you to do so or your psp will brick!!10) What else, enjoy!

Try increasing your CPU speed in the VSH menu or in recovery mode. You can toggle the VSH menu by pressing select/home in your XMB (psp menu). If the menu isn't enabled,go to recovery mode and do so.
**Recovery : Hold the off switch for 3-5 seconds, then HOLD R and boot your psp up.**

Not much.
Fat psp : Much more solid feel,ir port
Slim psp : Plasticky feel, but pwns the fat psp in performance wise.Has no irport.
PSP 3000 : Google and you'll seee the new features on it.

yah i can
slim also can
pop your firmware back to 3.71.. then u can do it to whatever u like.
over all difference that i see from psp1, 2 & 3k:
slim psp has slightly more processing power than phat, so can load/switch on faster. but got no IR port.. cannot use the psp as a remote for tv & dvd players.
psp 3k also more power than slim & phat with brighter lcd screen (no IR port)

Rin GBC :

I believe there are codes on it to determine the firmware of the psp in the box (before it is hacked of course),but i don't think they are important.Feel free to chuck them away, but i'd keep them, sweet memories

GPSP is a GBA emulator while masterboy is a GB/GBC emulator ( a very decent one indeed).Yes,rin GBC is for GB/GBC games only and no,i don't think GPSP is capable of running gbc games.

this is because
psp 2000 can modify version, and use memory stick play games..
but psp 3000 cannot .. only play UMD games.
thats why psp 3000 is more cheaper than psp 2000..

It is. My Felicia Blue Slim set costs me 840, according to Bernard, the demand for 2000 is high, and stocks running low. Probably a tactic by Sony to buy all the moddable set, leaving the unmoddable set for that the UMD sales would go up? But seriously, luckily I got mine early, or else, Christmas that time only buy, maybe can only get a second hand.

psp 2000 series.. is really not worth to buy now.

But allen, if you look at it this way.
PSP 3000. RM750, correct? After you completed the game, eventually you'll go and get one, which costs around.... say... 80 bucks? Adds up, costs around 830.
It may still look cheap, but somehow, the PSP 2000 still worths it. For one, you can play ahem games, costs around RM5 only.
And you might wanna shop around, go to Bernard's place. I got mine 840, 4GB high Speed (Filled with games, themes, etc etc) and it comes with 2DVDs that holds around 18-20 games.
