Is the normal red PSP limited edition? Not the GOW version..

QUOTE(toottut89 @ Sep 12 2008, 11:00 PM)
Overclock your psp. maybe the clock speed is default so it takes longer time to load and stuff like that.

in your xmb press select/home depending on firmware. then set the 1st and 2nd option to 333/166 then try the game and see.

=edit=

i not a pro, but just a guess.

if setting higher clock dont work, then maybe its a file error.

to overclock your psp, simply press select on the main menu. there will be 7 selections on common pandora-ed psp.

M33 VSH MENU

CPU CLOCK XMB-------------XXX/XXX
CPU CLOCK GAME-----------XXX/XXX
USB DEVICE-------------Memory Stick
UMD ISO MODE------------M33 Driver
ISO VIDEO MOUNT---------------NONE
RESET DEVICE
EXIT

increase the cpu clock game and xmb to 333/166. its the highest clockspeed. nod.gif
you can also try downclocking it n see how everything goes veeeerrryyyy slow. haha. tongue.gif but be noted that you'll have a hard time resetting the clockspeed as your button press will be too fast for the menu to view.

now, about that. there are a lot of opinions on that.
my brother told me if youre using windows XP and above, its not necessary to 'Safely Remove' it. just make sure there are no processes or data transfers going on and press X. do not ever, EVER eject it while transferring a file.
but for safe, safely remove it first before unplugging it. and also, if your pc says unable to remove because another program is still using it, the easiest way is to log off. all data transfers will be cutoff and no process anymore. then you can unplug and log in again.
or, you can shut down and unplug. anyway is okay. nod.gif

want to ask on behalf of my friend.

recently he bought a 2nd hand psp slim with 4.01 M33 firmware, but the previous owner dunno install what plugins made the Game Sharing icon in Game category lost.

we even tried to play multiplayer but it is not working no matter he host or join my game, but i try my set with other friend's psp also no problem.

can i know what's wrong?
Playboy21
It depends on your custom firmware. On some earlier firmwares, you need to press the home button in order for the VSH menu to appear. If it still doesn't work, then you most probably have it disabled in recovery mode.

*Recovery mode : Hold the off switch for around 2-4 seconds, then HOLD R and boot your psp up.You're now in recovery mode*

Go to configuration and enable the VSH menu.

Mind, don't mess with options that you aren't sure about as it can cause unecesarry problems.

Added on September 15, 2008, 2:04 pmharrychoo, well plugins. If it really is a plugin, then it can be disabled in the plugins option in recovery mode.See above ^^ on how to get to recovery mode.

You can also reformat your stick or just delete the corresponding plugin, but meh..just disable it.Much easier tongue.gif

By the time psp-3000 pandora comeout which is unlikely hackable. I think the main reason sony release psp-3000 just to combat piracy and give some minor improvement.. Because report, many company like capcom releasing games to the psp had major problems with the sales, which now is sony's problem... If is hackable.. it might destroy the psp because the motherboard is pandoraproof.. motherboard kaboom = BYE BYE psp... Haha

Well i just bought a psp, And i liked it...

psp plays mp4 type video format so any converter to mp4 is okay i guess. but normal converters dont create thumbnail files for the psp to display in the video menu.

just for safe, transfer them into your VIDEO and MUSIC folder in your mem stick when you connect it to the pc.

one of the main reasons they keep upgrading the motherboard was indeed to combat piracy. that explains why they keep upgrading the motherboard gradually. you can google for the changelog of the motherboard. and i must say, producing another psp is something like a leap forward. a very giant leap to combat piracy.
but still, homebrew and backup game files is one of the main reasons why the psp's sale boosted. and sony will most likely be leaving some 'holes' for the crackers to crack it open. just to be realistic, 3-4 games is the same price as a new psp. you better off buying DVDs of the backed up games from game stores or download them.

they should seriously consider about reducing the price of the games.

u guys can try WinAVI MP4 converter to convert the files.
some converters just converts the video but maybe the resolution or something (i dont know myself actually) is not compatible with the psp. whats great about this is it creates a thumbnail file and you can see the video thumbnail in your psp while browsing the videos instead of the X symbol.
or if you got enough resource and knows how to get what where, try a software called Badaboom video converter. it uses your GPU to convert the videos and the quality is the best one ive ever seen. converted Gears of War 2 sneak peek video and it looks 1005 like gameplay without any pixelation anything. laugh.gif great man. but be noted that you need to buy it, or at least get a keygen or something *wink wink*.

1. In your PSP Menu screen, go to Memory Stick, press the Triangle button, then select Information. Genuine SONY will display as MagicGate Supported. If you see Unknown or Unsupported then you know you have a FAKE Sony!

want to ask if sandisk also will say MagicGate Supported if ori ?

for me, i usually convert them to mp4 manually since im certain that my converter does in fact convert to psp compatible video.

but still, i dont know. maybe the mp4 format isnt really compatible with the psp. the psp should be able to play all mp4 videos as long as the video's resolution is not too big or else it cant render.

well actually sony style outlets wont install the CFW for you. haha. laugh.gif
but buying there gives you warranty. and if youre not confident enough to flash the CFW yourself just send it to any psp game shops. most of them provide flashing service. but the cost is...well, i dont know. varies between shops. some in sg wang charges for RM80 while in downtown only RM30.

yes, can. revert back to an official firmware.

something else off topic though. i've been surfing modding forums and psp forums. and theyre all more concerned about the warranty sticker in the battery slot. no matter how crazy they mod it or anything, the sticker must remain intact.
i guess as long as the warranty sticker is intact, then maybe the warranty is still valid?. but i dont know about that.

hi people,

i have a question regarding cwcheat...i decided to try out some cheats on my 3rd gameplay for FFCC...

ok, this is how it goes...firstly i activated the ALL ITEM cheat...which worked like a charm for me...all items remains even i off my psp and replay it the next day...

but as for the MAX HP, SP and AP, even the STATS, the cheat lasted for a short while only...ok, say my STATS appear to be the way i activated BEFORE BATTLE...but once i got encountered by the random battle, my stats returned to be how it was originally...

may i know whats the cause? this is the first time me using cwcheat...i think it'll be great to understand how it actually works too...

ps: seem to me activating too many cheats at once causes my psp to hang or shut down....am i right? so i normally activate 2 or 3 cheats, then save, then activate more cheat, and save again...

thx in advance smile.gif

The difference between all those three custom firmwares is the firmware itself.

I disagree with what the shopdealer told you regarding the stability of the firmware. All three firmwares were made by the very same developer (Apart from 3.93m33),and they all posses the very same functions thus making them all similar and equally good. There is no such thing as "This is more stable than that and so on".

4.01m33-2 is very good and 99% bug free.I've been using it for a period of time now,and i see nothing wrong with it.I had the very same feeling when i was back on 3.40oe-a and when i was on 3.52m33-4.It actually isn't the firmware,it is the user itself. It depends on what you want to do on your psp.For example, many prefer 3.71m33 and 3.52m33 for their plugins.

lol... DA wont make CFW worst then b4... new CFW got to be better.. if not, there is no point DA to create new CFW... the point of making new CFW that are not stable then the previous CFW is stupid... those sellers are stupid... trying to be smart.. lol
