do u use any office applications on this fon? so what is the average battery life like ? any memory leak problem when browsing ? thx ya
There is an office application preinstall call quick office. However only can view but cannot edit. You have to upgrade to the pay version should you need to edit. But you can always find alternative download.
For me I charge my phone daily since I use it quite extensively so shoudl left about 2-3 bar left per day. Since I got the P1i this few day been playing on it and didn't use my the N95 much, had been without charge for 2nd day still showing fullbar. By memory leak you mean when browsing suddenly jump out back to the main screen?

Yeah, maybe it is an older model using the SiRFStar III. Or it is the M-1000 that is selling RM180? I have been looking around the MSM and the price has been around RM250-260. Probably negotiable lar. But its a very impressive setup - smartphone + GPSr.
Last Wednesday, KL has a very ugly storm. And I can get a GPS signal lock in just under 40 seconds! cold start! Check the satellite information and it already has around 6 satellites and counting. Throughout the whole journey home in the freak storm, tracking was no problem and accurate. Signal strength was high too.

r there any themes or software can modify the original interface like those pocket pc can add much thing or direct change the interface
ahthien
Apr 4 2008, 05:46 PM
1. Open the slider.
2. Go to the maps software and start it up.
3. Once it's loaded, exit it.
5. Download and install the Map Loader PC software.
6. Open the Map Loader software on your computer and connect your N95 via cable, setting it to Data Transfer.
7. Download the appropriate Maps.
Once that's done, you'll just need to open the slide and turn on the Maps software on the N95 to use it.
There are also optional extras such as step by step voice navigation and/or city guides to purchase.
Unsure about other software that will use the internal GPS of the N95. I read that TomTom still requires a BT GPS receiver. I'll try and find out more about that.
dear all, i have followed the steps for my N95, and eventually i can open it,,but the problem is,,everytime need to connect to my office wifi...
it cant use without wifi,,and not able to load my map as well...

Yeah it is a good thing. I meant to say that with the external GPS receiver, you can still get a good signal in the middle of a storm, especially getting a signal lock. With the internal GPS of N95, it'll take a some time before you could get a lock. Might not even get one too. I tried that last time.

It will drain your battery off very quickly and the N95 gets very hot.

something to consider if you intend to buy the phone for 3G usage.
even though it supports HSDPA, but maximum speed you will get is less than 1Mbps even with USB cable.
battery life is also another issue...

Yes, I believe the problem lies with N95 USB transfer rate is very poor at only 0.8 MB/sec.
A review for Nokia N96 says its USB transfer rate is 7.5 MB.sec, almost ten-fold improvement.

Hi all...,
add me to this big family...
baddie - 29th March 2008 - RM1K trade-in with a precious N70 - CSL set...
I'd upgraded the firmware from v12.* to this V20.0.015
noticing that,
-messaging function a bit slower
-battery power drained too fast
but, mostly, the benefits is greater...
I don't know what application drained the battery most, as when I pressed the Menu buton, no application running (except back to standby shortcut)..hmmm..seems like so much external handlers running in backround...
anybody experiencing the same?
but,
I LOVE MY N95..
superb with GPS, powered with Garmin Mobile XT...

the BATTERY...
anybody know how much the price of the BL-5F Desktop Charger ?
care to find one, current battery stand-by time does not exceed 12 hours...yes,you read it right, Stand-by time < 12 hours!

There's already a newer firmware and it is V21.0.016 (I think should be this number). I just upgraded last Friday. Battery performance is like that if you use it vigorously. Also it is still new so it might require a few rounds of charge and discharge to get to the optimum level. Give it a few days. My N95 can lasts around 3 days if I just use its phone and stuff like that. Add playing games, WIFI and GPS, 12 hours seems to be the number. WIFI and GPS does uses a lot of battery power. Now I don't use its internal GPS, but paired with an external GPS receiver when I bought it for my PDA phone.
