throttle no more
I get speed 40-70 using deluge
with this new utorrent beta i get the same speed :-) but more stable and not resource hog
using utorrent < 1.75, i only manage < 10KB/s
that improvement :-)

yes it did. he refers to the thread starter as a politician from UMNO. lolz.
btw to topic starter - did u use a high seeding torrent ? did you check your peer list and where they are located ? if local peers mostly then not interested.

See for yourself

Deluge
[attachmentid=373836]
utorrent
[attachmentid=373837]
Fantastico

Different torrent. Same excellent speed.
[attachmentid=373846]
Note: How come it shows the yellow icon (means port haven't been forwarded) when I have already forwarded it

. Deluge however shows the port have been forwarded

. Bug? Oh well.
Another thing, it hogs bandwidth more compared to deluge. Software stability wise is pretty impressive even though this software is at an alpha stage. Download speed is also pretty stable compared to deluge which rocks like mad

Tried it myself, most of them are indeed.... ding ding ding!! International peer

Logically, with streamyx, I don't think you can even seed anything (am I right? LoL

Let me inform you that there definitely are TMNET spies on LYN. Opening a thread about this to share is nice, but also means you already exposed information to TMNET spies.
Ever thought why Xunlei and many previously working torrent clients which bypass throttling suddenly fail? No doubt they already have eyes set in this forum.

You should never have called TMnuke jibai. It gets on their nerves and make them come after this new uTorrent like hardcore porno. So in the end this might go down in history as the first BT client to get throttled before it was released.

I still doubt it's peer id allowing a bypass.
That would be really dumb on the ISP side + the utorrent thread seems to suggest that the data layer has nothing to do with the bypass.
At the moment, they are not posting the change that make the bypass possible but we will know what it is once the ISP (or the suppliers of the throtthling tools) wise up.
socratesman
Jan 8 2008, 01:13 AM
it's not peer id
something to do with the way BT peer-to-peer packets are handled and constructed.
and it won't be long before Cisco catches up with this. It is a cat and mouse game.

I'm using utorrent as well. Last few weeks, a few times, I reach 100++kbps in my download. Downloading a 4GB dvd took me less than 1 day, while 700MB divx in less than 2 hours. However, I should mention that they were hot release movies where I can get a seeders of more than 50. No wonder I can reach 100++. For old movies where there's not many seeders, i can easily get 40kbps..
wait a minute, utorrent using kbps or kBps. Hmm..doesn't matter. The number I quote above is the number I saw in utorrent.
