Windows Vista may not have the most stunning visual in operating system but it sure is much superior to the ones in
Windows Xp and all of its predecessors. After learning about transformation pack, I was tempted to try it as I did want to have a
"Windows Vista" on my computer and so I downloaded it from another source other than the one provided in this thread and had it installed.
The installation process was pretty straight-forward and it was "
Next" all the way. After rebooting my computer as instructed,
Windows Vista visual reign over every single nook and corner of my
Windows Xp operating system and I was thrilled with the style, fonts, visual and transparency features displayed before me. All in all, it did resemble
Windows Vista to a certain degree; personally, I felt that it has a 90% resemblance and I was satisfied.
It was all going good until I found out that I was unable to right-click on any items on the
Startmenu. I thought during the installation process, it must have altered the right-click function and so, I checked on the
Mouse option under
Control Panel but everything seems to be in place. There was nothing wrong with the settings and yet, the problem still persists. I am not sure if there will be any fix for this problem but I do hope there will be one if I am going to stick with this transformation pack or so I thought.
20 seconds later, my computer system hanged. It just did. Initially, I thought it could be due to the number of programs that was running but I realize I had never experience a system hang before. I opened the
Windows Task Manager and tried to terminate all the programs but I could not click on any of the buttons available. In the end, I had to restart my computer and the first thing I did after reboot was to have the tansformation pack removed.
I browsed through other threads that discusses similar problem and realize that I was not the only one who had experience the disabled Mouse feature and the system crash. I also realize that, according to others, it seems to work perfectly fine on their system and had never experience any system crash so far. I suppose this
Vista Transformation Pack works for some and not for all.
As for what is the criteria for it to work perfectly, I have no idea but right now, I'm very comfortable with my existing
Windows Xp look.
Anyone had used any of the other 4 transformation pack, in particular, the
Mac Transformation Pack?
