Meh, remember Microsoft N version? Nobody wanted it. IE is inside because when ppl buy an OS, they want everything to work out of the box.
V1V3C
ok, how can you download other browser program without using internet explorer in first place?

opera needs more advertising.

opera already quite famous now in the net, i also using it. thumbup.gif better than ie & firefox.
linkinstreet
yes, but how do you get it to your PC if they dun have IE? not many would go to another place just to download the installer. It's retarded.
ioriamd
maybe they want to bundle it with windows ... never use opera b4.. maybe can try to dl it

in what aspect it better than ie and firefox?
can tell us more?
Thirteen
I prefer firefox more than opera
chicaman
get used to firefox, don wana change

btw last time microsoft was sued by netscape for monopolying by giving out free internet explorer.
linkinstreet
And Microsoft won. Netscape lose big time on that one not because of the case itself, but the time it needs for them to agree on a decision. By that time IE has become a norm.
And Opera is better than Firefox, as it's lighter, don't take many resources, and many of the plugins that you have to download for firefox are by default built in in Opera, not to mention that with each plugin for Firefox you need to allocate more memory, which is why FF will memory leak if left on for too long.
Opera USB is one hell of a browser too, but I use IE7 for personal usage.
samurai1337
I use Firefox although I don't mind IE7 sitting in my PC

In short, even though IE7 comes pre-installed with Windows Vista, I have my choice of preferred web browser. (hence I don't see the reason of Opera sueing MS)
xf86
Yeap, i agree with elite samurai biggrin.gif

I've my IE7 on my pc, I'm still using Firefox biggrin.gif
Just use IE to login to some page which used ASP.
dkcc87
FF is still my choice though..got used to it..
HMMaster

LoL....didn't u heard before love your enemy and they will love you too..."If you can't beat em,join em"! tongue.gif

syazwanreno

dadurtyz

Before IE was built-in, people bought Internet browser off-the-shelf. Some other OS bundles Firefox.

opera is light but plain and boring yawn.gif
freeman1314
I don't mind plain and boring as long as it doesn't interrupt what i'm doing too much, simple and easy tp use, and won't take up too muc memory.

O RLY. 1.8% is quite famous huh?

here's the reason why I don't use Internet Explorer, other than for testing purposes.

and who cares about being plain and boring, I browse the website for the website. I don't need fancy skins to entertain me. biggrin.gif Opera is good! I use FFox though because I like some of the plugins (I use less than 5 ok!)
irenic
many dunno about firefox.. my friends all are using firefox and dunno opera.. i admit that in terms of plugins, firefox has the most complete one, just like IE.. but i'm using opera bcoz opera is faster and lighter..
xf86
the first browser i manage to get install to my old win 3.1 is opera which last time as a light weight browser .. can fit into my 1.4mb diskette biggrin.gif

super_evil_alien
I am using opera because it is really good and have more features compared to IE7 and Firefox. Most of the IE features now has been copied from opera. But the latest opera take quiet bit of ram space compared to older version.
qwerty79
Before we have Firefox, i used to be an Opera user. Very fast browser compare to IE. But now I use Firefix because the simplicity and the plugin. But Opera had some problem when opening some website.

well that doesn't explain that 1.8% from the browser stats. smile.gif

anyway for me, anything that conforms to web-standards are fine.

since most browsers are now free, I dont think this model will work.

MS is not stupid enough to bundle competitor's product in their OS.

Yup, and that's why I stopped using opera. It's still sitting in my pc though, sometimes I use it just for fun. laugh.gif
Satria-Craze
LoL larr opera. Even if they succeeded... it's not like I'm going to use Opera anyway. doh.gif

It's either Microsoft or Firefox. Whether Opera wins or not... I still won't use it anyway. I wonder what will happen if almost the whole world think like me. Fortunately for Opera though.. they don't.

opera latest alpha(9.50) indeed have some problem when loading some webpage, here is the small list:
http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_sli2007.html and prolly their main page too.

refnulf

Recently started using Opera but I'm having some problems getting it to work flawlessly with my download managers and being able to copy a couple of rapidshare links at once like I use to do on my firefox with flashget.

i miss opera earlier version, mainly :
1. Lightweight
2. Small size
3. FAST!!!!!
4. Full of function compared to IE6

NOW:
1. It's ugly... (I know got skin)
2. Getting blotted with unnecessary function
3. Bigger Size

Anyway, I still have Opera in my comp. I like Firefox > IE7 > Opera... last time Opera useb to be my no.1 browser sad.gif
prole
When Opera can't open Yahoo! Mail that I'm rely heavily on, I'm sorry to tell that I should leave it because it can't suit my demands...
linkinstreet
If it can't open a site, it's the site's fault actually as Opera renders according to W3 Standard
