Greetings ...

Above poll is just a survey... state ya opinion n no flame pls...

I'm love to taking photographs range from macro natures creation to landscape. And many of my closes frens and families encourage me and give many compliments to my photos. And now ... it leads me to a step forward to my new photographing level.

I didn't take any photo skills training or what so ever... all photograph with me ... is juz about feel and personal imaging creativity!

Becoming a Pro. Photographer, should i possess any DSLR Cameras? I know it ways more better function and solution to photograph, it just that money seems tight for me to purchase a DSLR. Currently, my camera is PENTAX Optio E10(very high battery life consumptions).

Currently I have many cameras, polaroids types, analogue types and digital compact cameras, collecting since 2001. Total with 9-12 cameras and none of them is DSLR! Do u think i shud go for it ? Any cheap and gud dslr cameras recommends ?

Another problems ...

Where should i develop my photos in KL? Any place is cheap one and trustworthy one ?! Trustworthy meaning I don wish the shop take my photos and put it out as 'their' photos for their advertisement purposes!
The cheapest I ever develop is 35cents, and i might print up to 200pc of photos... the services of coz including whole pictures cramps into 4R size... don like if reso big or cropped reso den after develop ... come out oni center weigh.

Here's are some of my photos...

i am disappointed with the photo printing service at my place.

they just use normal home user printer, meaning i could get the same quality by buying the Rm200-300 printer and print out myself
..and they charge me RM1 per photo, for 4R size, since i am printing 5 photos only.

now i am looking for those shops that print with high quality photolab printer...

Alex Majoli, Frans Lanting, Pål Hermansen, Joe Cornish, Davin Norton, Dave Hill, Steve Koh... There's alot of them.

Anyway, i think the most important point of becoming a pro photographer is to understand light.

i started out with film SLR which my mum use for her architecture. that was like 7 years ago. until i can afford myself my first digital rebel eos300d.

i always believe that shooting with film slr is much more difficult as u cant preview what u have shot earlier. and it takes great challenge to master the lighting technique. especially when switched to shutter mode, which wherever may apply, u will get a dark picture if not properly adjusted and handled.

i tried alot of panning shots with my film slr and only 3-4 shots worth admiring, at least for me. lack of picture locking feature like the new DSLRs nowaday makes it harder to just locate the subject for panning purposes. it takes a steady hand or a tripod to follow the subject constantly.

and for photography courses, i believe they will learn on how to develop photos from films in darkroom. as seen in shaliza mokhtars series.

at usj9 business centre, printing 4r in bulk would cost around 40cents each.

pns also can take superb images.
when you are printing a 4x6 pic, 6mp is more than enough.
when come to printing photos, i always opt for fujifilm.
even films those days also i use fujifilm tongue.gif

might be off-topic, who knows where can i get fuji velvia 135 in melaka?
and how much does they charge for developing slide films?

Light is one of the major part of affects the whole photograph...

For me ... a pro photographer for me is a self illustration and personal imaging creativity... different people hav different creativity and the main point for what i mean as a pro photographer is the personal imaging creativity portrait out the feeling of a photographer in ways to convince the scenic view of the photos and its meaning of the pictures.

"Ugly is an Art" coz art can be everything...

Added on December 14, 2007, 10:49 amMy hometown-Pahang- develop photo ...

if less than 10pc ... 1 pc = RM1 "instant kodak printing"
if more than 20pc ... 1 pc = RM0.50 + "Open Folder or some handling charges RM5"
if more than 100pc = RM0.50 with no more handling charges...

Some shop lagi teruk ...
the pictures can c it become pixellette ... can c pixel or the photo quality not gud ... if under hot sun the color will bcome sticky... no quality!

Wondering in KL, any trustworthy shop print cheap and good quality photos!?

^yes that's why IMO by understanding light you can produce seriously good photographs biggrin.gif

I know what you mean, but ppl tend to disagree with what your views are. There's plenty of debates about it. But I think it make sense. wink.gif
