Dear Friends
I'm looking for a session where someone can teach me on how to use my Canon PowerShot A610 digicam. I want to understand the full functions and the features in my camera to be able to snap good pictures..
Is there anyone who can provide one-to-one session for me ? I do not want to join the classes as it is more for digital SLR. If can provide me the session, please let me know the fees.

Uh, must be hands-on?
There are some great "masters" in this forum, maybe you can discuss with them about it.
Or you can just view the "Photography and tips site" post, which is pinned up in this subforum

well, my advice is, read the manual and try it on the spot. i always do it. after doing it, i alwiz realize that.. "owhh.. my cam can do this arr..."
how beautiful the pic is not something the camera decide, it is the person behind it.
just my 2 cents

TS wants to pay if someone offers to teach him. In that case TS could hire me

. I know the basics only. Is online course OK for TS?

if you wanna have some really great shots, apply rule of thirds to your pics.
also, lighting is important.
make sure that you capture the highest possible dynamic range on your subject.
maybe at first you'd fail at the lighting part but in time, you'd know which white balance to use or how many EVs to compensate on any particular scene.

Doesn't Canon conduct classes for newbies?
Last time when I got my first Powershot (A510) in Singapore, they had a basic tutorial class you could sign up. Very popular...
Didn't bother to find out for my second Powershot (the A570IS) but I am already using a DSLR when I got that one.
If all else fails... don't be shy to use 'P' or Auto mode...
The problem (blessing?) here is that the Powershot series exposes you to the full functionality of a camera, approaching what you can get from a SLR. To go through them would require reading up basics that are also relevant to SLR usage, like Exposure control via shutter speed, aperture size, etc.
