I would like to ask why you said slimming center is a waste of money? I know many have the mentality that slimming center just burns off water and it will come back. Some guys whom I spoken to said it may burn off their muscles also. But radio, tv, newspaper has proved that it works and it helps people reduce 20 - 30kilos in a short period of time. Despite unhealthy if its drastic, little by little over time, it certainly helps rather than to go exercise every day for a couple of years.
The traditional RIGHT way would be exercise, diet and lots of water. What about exploring new options like a slimming center? Recently FLY FM spoke to an indian girl who lose 15kg and will be losing another 15! I envy her so much. I want to try losing some weight for my wedding day but I dont know which is good. I am considering Terimee and I am planning to drag my boyfriend with me but I think he will shy away.

My mother dragged me to a few of these places a few years ago because she said I was too fat. I won't name the slimming centers but it's
all the top 3 ones.
At first you'll be impressed by the place and all that, and then you go speak to the "nutritionist". They will recommend that you go on a very very low-calorie diet. It was like a soup diet. Even my mom was shocked each time we went because it's not safe to have such a diet. IF you eat less of course you lose weight but who wants to eat less than 1,000 calories per day just to lose it quickly (and in an unsafe manner)?
Maybe their machinery works - and is a substitute for exercise to help "break down the (sic) fats" (i quote the woman directly). But what happens once you finish their course? What happens when life intervenes or you can't watch your diet as religiously (or you want to live, at least a little .. and not count calories for the next 50 - 60 years of your life)?
You have to eat like that
forever and without regular exercise, you
gain.
The supposed solution? They have a maintenance course which you have to go a few times a month - 1x weekly or every fortnight.
It's fine if you want to pay your money ($5k minimum .. and up to $10k and above) but I think it's not worth it to waste all your money. It's questionable whether such machines work - hello? Uzap? has it ever worked for anyone? There's no such thing as 'zapping' fat cells. There is no magic pill to take that'll make you skinny.
My recommendation for an almost $0 weight loss?
1. Consume about 1,200 to 1,500 calories (safe 2 lbs loss per week at maximum)
2. Exercise a couple of times a week, make sure you do strength training
3. Make healthy lifestyle changes that you can 'live with' for the rest of your life
If you want to make it better? Take the money you were going to spend on the slimming center and use a fraction of it to :-
1. Join a gym
2. Get a personal trainer to meet 5-6x a week
I'm by no means an expert since I know someone will say "What a fatso she is!" but I was a former athlete in school and I've actually been to these 3+ slimming centers for consultations .. so I think that I have the background to give an opinion about this topic.

i have an idea..y don we cyphone our fats to those skinny ppl who wanna gain weight? this is my story
i used to be plump when i was in lower sec
and then after pmr i started not eating but sleeping alot,(kinda like hibernating) and it really worked! from 55kg i became 40 kg.
and then i took the most stressful course a 18 yr old could ever imagine, and i started binging everytime nearing exam,
and in just 1yr, i gained 20kg..
now the problem is i want to lose that 20kg. i think i've learnt my lesson and i wont binge again. if i succeed in losing the 20kg, i will maintain it even if it means being called skinny.
its really hard being fat, you cant find nice clothes at all, and ppl treat you differently, if you think im bein stereotypical, just don't take it to heart, i've been in both situations, i know the difference, it's a sad fact, but facts will remain facts, being thin actually boost my self confidence, a lot. although the self confidence is still here, i'd rather be thin. no offence to the big-sized ppl out there, i know some of you have a great personality and ppl around you adore you, but that's just not the case for me. as pathetic as it is, i think i shall stick to social norm for this particular reason.

eat only 3 meals a day at most
breakfast, lunch and dinner
tea break arr...supper arr..those put aside
well, yea eat less would help...but eat at a normal ammount is the best, your normal meals doesnt kill you
its normally the supper and junk food
most important !!! is to do exercise...
like they said exercise is the best policy
if you got the will to loss weight...go jog,sit up, push up
why wanna pay so much for those centre
worst come to worst...go for gym, cheaper then those slimmin centre i suppose
but dont go gym..dance dance..walk walk, sit sit and then
"oh im tired and im done for the day"
that certainly wont work,hell no..lol
go for yoga
that 1 sure help alot

I have weight prob oso

Went to UNISENSE to ask about their latest promo. They have RM1668 package now which gv u 80 slimming sessions... I wondered how they count in each so I personally walked in and find out the details. What I concluded is u can go ard 40times, each time 2sessions in a row(provided u r not really in big size), once a week(and the package can last for 10mths, avg RM167/mth), quite worth but definitely will not up to my expectation.
To get perfect result, i may need to sign up another massage program, which cost ard RM3600 for 12sessions(may go once a mth, RM300/mth), total will be ard RM467 a mth!!

I know they can gv result but maintenances is a must I can say(there is no express way to be pretty overnight...), after the whole package u stil need to pay maybe RM200-300/mth... hmm in dillema now
Any comments?

i went to slimworld before but then i guess what works the most is the diet plan... i mean less sugar, less protein, no incoming meat, less carbohydrates...then sure everyone can lose weight cuz you feel like starving...i din follow the diet menu but then i lose 4 kg in two months...
i tot i wanna slim my tight but then seriously cant.... its not worth it if you sign up only few thousand... if around 10K then probably you can see the result... my friend sign up for marie france around 10K++ but then still see no result...

Hmm I've been chubby my whole life until about 2 years ago when I gathered every ounce of willpower in myself to start losing weight. It took me about a year from 52kg to 42kg. All I did was reduce daily calorie intake and increase my daily activities. Just keep in mind that every little thing you do burns calories. Like maybe walking the extra distance, washing a car, sweeping the floor...little daily chores like these will help a lot.
But well after a while, I got too used to being slim that er...I kinda strayed from my healthy eating habits and my weight now is 44kg. I am only 152cm and 2 kg is quite noticeable. So right now, I'm trying to find that willpower again to help me go down to 40kg this time. =)

I have been overweight all my teenage life, and now in my early adult life, I'm still wayyy overweight for my height (168cm). Plus, I have a large frame, so I'm kinda gigantic. I have tried so many things to lose weight from diet pills to slimming creams to crash dieting. Usually they work, but then for some unavoidable reason, I'll change my regime, and all my weight came back again

I can usually stick to a routine, but my routines are always changing and this is so frustrating. Right now I'm on a 3 months break from uni. I'm just just sitting around at home on my butt doing nothing all day since I can't go out and find work because I don't have transport. And I don't have the willpower to restrain myself from eating all the time. To make things worse, I love to cook! Aaahhhh~ What to do???

Fabulous post. Although 5-6 times a week would be too much for me. I attend dance classes twice a week or 1.5 hours each and that works quite well for me to maintain (not lose) my weight.
I'm not one of those who can stick to three main meals per day so what I do is break it down to smaller but more frequent meals.
Get enough sleep. Poor sleeping habits can prevent weight loss.
http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/nutrit...cles.asp?id=129Finally, if you just want to lose weight for a special occasion, I suppose going for a slimming programme might just work (I've no experience with them and I can't be convinced by their ads) but for long terms goals, I see no way other than good old fashioned dietary control and exercise.

Hi All
I been overweight for almost 15 years. I use to be 92kg and now I have reduce to 75kg with my height is just 163cm, I just take about 1 1/2 month to reduce it. I feel better now compare to when I was overweight. All the overweight people here should take more concern on why we are overweight, I learn from it & do it. Do it mean have a healthy diet + enough nutrition into our body+ mild exercise. That should help. Want to know more PM me I will share with you.

158 centimeter tall (when i go for medical check up, they identified my height only 155cm!!! damn!) and 93kg of weigh. enough to describe who am i.
i'm still happy. but will not eternity. because i face a lot of problems being a fat person.
1) i have to wear and buy big sizes of cloths. jeans starts from 36 until 38. while t-shirts, i look like a fool if i wear tight shirt just to fit in my body into it. *sigh*
2) being a fat person also may affect my health. well yeah, i am a lazy person, i don't do exercise and i sleep and ear a lot. even though my boyfriend says he loves me for who am i, i'm not satisfy with it. he will change sooner or later. so, i have to control my diet. and now, i try to not eat "chicken" as my main dish anymore.

Eating only 1 meal per day is not healthy... Skipping meals is not a solution. Working out is. Also, eat healthy food. Don't say, you don't wanna eat chicken. Some parts of chicken contain a lot of fats and some parts don't... Choosing what you eat also plays a vital role in helping you to achieve your 'ideal' weight.
