I have PANASONIC aircon with ioniser, fan with plasma ioniser and SHARP air purifier but sickness still exist and spread ... don't work imo
Now got new product in market, which ionises food ... there's a booth at IKANO basement level (near IKEA)..... said to be able to get rid of chemicals and harmful elements in raw food eg. meat, fruits, vege, etc. Got pics to show and demonstration too. Very yucky.
Even got booth at IKANO/Curve bridge that produces O2 in water, etc..
Got MEDKLINN product which patented to kill/dispel virus/dust/allergen ..... cost RM600+.
So so many ...... any testimonies that they work or not?

When u fall sick altho with all these ion stuff, i can only think of 2 reasons.
1) the ions are not powerful enough to deter the sickness
2) the sickness itself cannot be prevented even if ion levels are high.
(Just cos it helps in immune systems and makes u healthier, doesn't mean you can't fall sick. get what i'm saying?)

I'm using medklin too, I feel the air in my room is lighter, not so heavy life before, dunno how else to describe this.
Also, I think it increased my alertness too.
So unless you live near greenery with big open windows, you know what to do.
Are you selling this product now?

Ioniser or ozoniser is not everything to keep you from falling ill.
If using all these products can prevent you from falling sick then you will be able to live beyond 100 years. LOL

I just bought one of this Ioniser / Purifier at home.
In regards to cleaning the filters and replace the filters?
The air feels a bit better than usual (is it a placebo effect?), it's kinda costly as well, how much electricity it consumes per month?
Cheers

If you wanna know whether it works, try this
1. Light up a cigarette and pollute the room. Come back in about an hour time and check if you still smell it.
If you do, throw away the ionzer.
2. Place your stinking training glove on the ionizer for a couple of hours. If it still stinks, throw away your ionizer.

Medklinn is maintenance free. Those with filters are good when they are new.
Performance declines as they aged. This is what I was told.
That's why I ended up buying Medklinn.

Mine is from Sharp and it is freakishly huge, like those desk fans.
I have used it for 2 days, I think I am getting better sleep as I do have dreams more often for the past few days (albeit they were more nightmares than beautiful dreams.....LOL)
Do you use it in an enclosed area or like a living room? Air con goes well with this?
Cheers

Apr 4 2008, 03:36 PM
If it is an ionizer it is best used in an enclosed area.
It can't ionize an open area. It has to be concentrated.
It is fine using in an air cond room.

Folks,
Ionizer works by generating ION and use static electricity to get the dust settled. In Malaysia, due to high humidity, it does not work in most places except enclosed location with air-con on 24/7. So, I failed to see how can you have a ionizer and humidifier working together??

I've been using it for almost one week, I'll like to say it does help with my sinus problem and my eyes. (Although, I never seem to have this problem back in Aussie)
Good thing is that is almost silent therefore it does not interfere with my sleeping.

Hi dreamer,
I'm a noob in this air purifier thingy, apperciate ur inputs.
I need a humidfier due to i feel very dry sleeping in air con room. Thus would like a humidfier to ease dry skin, dry throat
Regarding air purifier/ionizer, just want to have a better air quality and gems/bacteria free when sleeping.
If they dont work together, then i need to reconsider as there's a few models that have both air purifier/humidfier function together.

Hmm I'm also wondering the same thing. I was just about to purchse this unit today (new Sharp Humidifier+Purifier... RM1299 smallest model at Best and Harvey) What do you guys think... do you think it is worth buying one with humidifier in malaysia? Humidity is important to prevent skin dryness leading to aging... but this might be more relevant in japan (where this thing is popular) rather than here.
And as pointed out by dreamer101 ... the humidity may interfere with the ionizing function.
Any comments from 'experts'?
Also anyone knows where it is cheap to buy this in Klang Valley? Or is this question forbidden here?

(sorry noobie here)

bought it and used it for ~ 3 week already, not recommended to be honest. the humidfier is crap, the water level does not change much, regretted buying it.
i think it's better to buy a separate humidfier if u need one.

I've also seen some Air Coolers that have Ionizers or something. I was thinking of getting that since I just have to fill in water to make the wind cooling. better than utilizing an aircond.
But, my dad has contemplated that it does not work strongly compared to an aircond. So, i'm abit confused right now.

There's so many brand in the market right some "CLAIM" or "MAY" do ionizer or air purify this and that .. and sometimes misleading advertisement can make a person come up with a funny conclusion. Do some research before buying any air purifier.
But i do reckon that air purifier helps you a lot. I have Extremely sensitive nose and just a simple small air purifier could help you in a way or two but no matter what brand air purifier you need to clean it's filter once a while. I've used an AMWAY air purifier and SHARP air purifier and both are EXTREMELY good brand but so many brands i've seen so far i love AMWAY's the most cuz the HEPA filter is THICK !!! it's extremely THICK, while the sensor I've did my research somewhere AMWAY and SHARP share the same tech. But in the end i've bought SHARP but with constant cleaning while AMWAY was a LOAN unit ..
Aircond don't have the filter like what air purifier have. All they have is just the black netting to filter the dust and it won't 100% filter the dust. And air cond just "conditions" the air to your need ... Not like air purifier it cleans your air (even if you fart a distance away it stills can detect).
