Christian Bale is in negotiations to star in "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins," the fourth installment of the hit science fiction series.
McG ("Charlie's Angels," "We Are Marshall") is directing the movie, which will be distributed by Warner Bros.
The series, which originated with filmmaker James Cameron and made Arnold Schwarzenegger a star, centered on a robot from the future, when machines wage war against humanity, whose goal was to kill Sarah Connor, the mother of the future leader of the human resistance. As the movies progressed, the son, played by Edward Furlong in "T2" and Nick Stahl in "T3," took a more prominent role.
"T4's" story, by David Campbell Wilson, John Brancato and Michael Ferris, focuses on John Connor, now in his 30s, as he leads what is left of the human race against the machines.
Bale, who appeared this year in "3:10 to Yuma," "Rescue Dawn" and "I'm Not There," is currently filming Warner's "Batman Begins" sequel, "The Dark Knight."

or to be more specific, how from american psycho, he became the machinist, then batman begins, and later rescue dawn, back to the dark knight. u'll see his body pumped up, reduced to skin and bones, pumped up with muscles again, reduced to a lean guy, pumped back up again... sheeshh... the guy shouldve played mister fantastic.

If he is the future version of John Connor...the story can be great. We could see how he manage to lead the resistance against Skynet. Of course, the Terminator in this version will all be naked (full metal)...no need to put on human shell. I hope there's no more time travelling since Judgment Day already happen.
But of course, if it's not naked, the first version of the terminator, the T101 all have arney's face...how are they going to pull that off since arney is already wrinkly now. He was already too old in T3.

Enough of Arnold laa....there are tonnes of bad actors to choose from. Even I can make a straight face and say one liners. I just can't make the accent though.
I wanna Hugo Weaving to play a cyborg. He got a good robotic face, plus his spoken style are funny to hear.

personally i find charlie angel 2 a good film to watch la.. my friends did too..probably diff people diff taste..
anyway, i heard that john connor is not the main star in T4. he will groom a new hero/warrior that will shine above him. john connor in this movie is just a semi-lead character only.
from wat i heard from the rumors la..tat's why bale is in it, because he's the 2nd lead star.
well have to stay tune for more.

one of the best actors from the current generation. his transformations are truly astonishing. from the lean patrick bateman to the skeleton that was trevor reznik, and then back to the super-bulk bruce wayne, and then back to rescue dawn (havent watched this). god damn. I reckon this guy wont live long, looking at how he abuses his body.

TX was hot but nothing else... Why the heck isn't she using all her hidden weapons like the flame thrower and plasma cannon? She could have used those guns to blast Arnie and Connor to smithereens and yet she chose to fight with her hands most of the time. For example she could have blasted the damn truck instead of letting it rampage down the street.
Pfffhh... We need Cameron back.
The mercury man is still the best baddie. I was really frightened by him when I first watched T2 when I was a kid. Imagine a shapeshifter which just won't die. TX just fails to bring out the fear factor since it looks and operates just like another normal robot.

Warner Bros. Pictures has set a May 22, 2009 release date for Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, to be directed by McG and starring Christian Bale (The Dark Knight) and Sam Worthington (Avatar).
That puts it head-to-head with Fox's Night at the Museum 2: Escape From the Smithsonian on the same date. The studio had already staked out the May 22 release for the Ben Stiller sequel.
Warner will distribute the pic in North America through a deal with Halcyon Co., which owns all franchise rights to the "Terminator" series. Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group has acquired international distribution rights.
"Terminator Salvation" begins filming in New Mexico for two months on May 5. The film is part of a planned three-picture arc that begins after Skynet has destroyed much of humanity in a nuclear holocaust. A group of survivors led by John Connor (Bale) struggles to stop the machines.

Eventhough I know Arnie IS the Terminator, he really has outlasted his character liao. It's kinda boring already seeing him do same thing over and over again. I mean, the plot was almost the same: A robot sent back to the past to protect someone. I'm tired of it, and I think Arnie's getting old. Better let go of his movie career while he's still welcomed and concentrate on his political career. Don't want to see him doing what his action hero compatriot Stallone doing, and keep doing T4, T5, T6, T7...
Furthermore, the story of the human uprising against the machines is more exciting and less predictable. With Christian Bale onboard, it's just going to be much more intense, I hope.

Might be in Terminator V where John Connor time travel back to look for Michael Biehn for some secret to win Skynet before he die in the explosion. Meanwhile T-X II will be sent to kill Biehn before the secret is passed on... played by Angelina Jolie.
