i interested to go for yoga class wheres there r many girls....but mainly is for health la, really....i wonder ok mou, will i look pus5y or worse ,get laughed at....man wor....i jus curious wht r the general conception regarding tis....positive or negative....

Back in my uni some many years back (Go Gators!),our NCAA 1st Div team would do Pilates or Yoga as part of their readiness training.
These athletes are the All-American 'gladiators' who would then be drafted into NFL and they do Yoga/Pilates.

So,just ignore those morons,especially if they're just bunch of iron-pumping gym rats newbs.
Even pro-golfers do Yoga to improve their swing.

What it really comes down to is, do YOU want to do yoga? If yes, give it a whirl, who cares if people think you're unmanly, weak, impotent, a failure as a man, lacking balls, without penis, etc... Their opinions don't count.

I reckon Yoga is a great way to release stress and have one of the better stretching exercises.

Proper stretching exercises after weights promote muscle growth reduce risk of muscle injury and acid lactic.

Might try one of those yoga classes after my weight exercise one day.

I do Yoga to improve my flexibility in martial arts.

Although sometimes it might feel abit odd cos certain classes i attend at certain time are filled with females only.

Certain time, there are men around. =))

I think i should go for yoga too. My joints is stiff as hell, making me injury prone. Some professional athletes (example - rugby players) do take yoga to prevent injuries. Can't imagine those burly, always have cuts all over the place, tough rugby players is one bit girlish.

Yoga is for everyone. Period.

I know some fundamentalist christians who are anti yoga, tai-chi and all forms of martial arts.

I would actually be pretty much in that group. It's not so much that we/they are against martial arts or yoga, it's that they disagree with the origins of yoga or taichi or w/e. For example, yoga is a group of ancient spiritual practices originating in India(wiki), because it's of religious origins, we don't do it. It's sorta like how if a Muslim goes on holiday and winds up visiting some old church, he wouldn't sing Christian praise and worship songs, right? Same thing =)

exactly what i am thinking to join a class....

last time when i joined yoga classes, i was the only guy there...surrounded by GIRLS..and good thing is, you might get more attention from the instructor and get to practise with her on any two-person yoga...

i know nuts bout yoga. but apparently my parents r yoga freaks. my dad even joined the yoga conference held for 3 days last month or so. can u imagine a kind of 'camp' just doing yoga whole day?! 3 days straight!! n they nvr stop talking bout yoga! haha okok enuf bout my ramblings.. =p

well its true there r less guys doing yoga in centres.. but a lot of guys start off mocking their wives doing yoga all the time.. but when they actually go do it themselves they beh tahan n sweat like pigs!! so says my mum.

Frankly, I think yoga should complament other exercise rather than be the main exercises.

I read somewhere yoga doesn't burn a lot of calories compared to the usual threadmill/jogging/walking/sports.
