thinking of buying a mp3... n tis r d few choices i'm considering....

for me i prefer samsung, chipset is the same as iriver with a nice and detail sound..

Ipod has good design, user interface and popularity but nothing special about the SQ and its kinda expensive...

Had a little hard time to use Ipod touch interface. It doesn't feel handy as pdaphone. I tot it suppose to be ultra-sensitive by thumb or finger touch with its fancy new technology.
Anyway the beauty screen & sleekness can really put others mp3 or hp into the greatest shame. (For me lar..)

Get samsung. Much cheaper in terms of price. Ipod touch will be tomolo very soon.

Nobody will say ur samsung is so yesterday. Majority people put more attention on Ipod product lines. You may grab ipod touch when it drop price. Who knows Iphone will drop price too. Better get iphone instead of touch.

Apple upgrades their products roughly once a year.

By software and interfraces the ipod is a clear winner, but Samsung has better screen (I believe is AMOLED) true black unlike ipod which has visible 'light' on dark scene, the dsp is alot better

i own a samsung yp-p2 and ipod touch. In terms of sq,price,good resolution, SAMSUNG TAPAO. Ipod touch got wifi , a better touch screen and bigger screen of coz.

i think Ipod better but expensive.

Funny how people talk about resolution and detail when the Samsung does not support lossless audio.

It's lossy @ mp3 and ogg anyway, so what's the point of recommending a product based on 'resolution' and 'detail'. All that would already be lost in compression.

At the end of the day, if you're using mp3, the SQ between the two brands would be quite 'standard', so it boils down to your budget and design/functionality of the product.
