i find it more realistic than last year....the only non-improvement would be the football match display..
other than that, the simulation is very real...i know most of you guys are a fan of football manager 2008, but no harm trying this one also..i think it's rather addictive...

You'll have to constantly juggle the demands of your players, as well as making sure the board is satisfied.
Scouts will also play a much larger part in the game than before. You'll need to keep a constant eye on the youth team and transfer market to manage a successful club. Although it remains an accessible management game to get into, the general attention to detail in FIFA Manager 08 is looking very impressive so far. Being able to place Liverpool's training ground in a small English seaside town called Filey was a nicely realistic touch. It's a really good game, and I'm a Football Manager fan. I've tried it out and it's addictive. The cinematic view is awesome. You can upgrade your stadium which is really cool. But the firing in this game is ridiculous. If your target is 4th place and you end up at 6th, you get fired wtf?! But overall its a really cool game. Should try it out

so you didnt managed to achieve your target.....do you think you should be sack then ?

if this is the case, then shouldnt top class teams' managers will change every season except for the one that wins the title?

if u start with moderate class, u'll have a better chance.

hehe same like be la..been a fan since 2006 and it's really a major improvement for 2008, at least more realistic.
i played MU the first season. Major change in midfielder and defenders. because there is no team chemistry, i ended up 15th in EPL by end of season. lucky i play "cannot sack".
well second season better alridi. the passing more accurate and the style more offensive. ended up 4th place....
and for player transfer, even harder than last season... so far can only see the good points...

i'm assuming you are referring to real match display in 3D. usually this thing happens because of the VGA card quality. probably you can try to lower down the resolution.

anyone have tips how to get a cleen sheets regularly..win with big conceded goal is not good..how to set the defender setting?i prefer to use 4 defender
you go to individual orders. some you can choose to man-marking to certain strikers.
also you can choose to be very-defensive or defensive or normal formation. so most of your players mindset will be set to be very defensive, even though u r playing 3-4-1-2 formation for example.
besides that, you can select individual player to choose if he should do just dribbling/holding/free role, etc etc from the menu la before/during the game.
so far i'm playing RM. play 4-3-1-2 and choose offensive formation. nearly 1/2 season gone and i've already scored more than 50 goals. of course i conceded around 15 goals also la. take and give loh.

I heard my friend said that the game is realistic, until you actually can marry and get kids, property in the game.

i havent played lower league...so far so good.... dont think so the updates will be out so soon also.....probably will have to wait for some time. you can even post some of your feedback in fifa website and they will take note.

I played Fifa Manager since 04 and changed to Football Manager this year because the 3D engine sometime makes me wanna slam the table(I am referring to Fifa M07) sometime those AI really did wrong thing on the situation.

Well, sometime the defender is too stupid and open spaces for striker and it happen very often.
wow. i actually like this one. the simulation match is surprisingly superb. the ui is good too, but too much menu sometimes made me dizzy.

hehe depending on which player you choose. i used to like people like daniel agger or sergio ramos. their market price is expensive and can easily costs around 50mil per head. but then their performance is not consistent. people like pepe, metzelder, lahn with lower cost give you better consistency and able to close the spaces that you mentioned above. do buy more defenders and rotate them. if you want, man mark some on-form striker. it helps

spanish not using reserve team. instead they have 'b team' playing at lower tier. this game fail bigtime. they should make it easy for mod like football manager.

dont think u can see it. i cant find ways to check the tables out also until after the CL match.

well i must say fifa08 alittle messy when it comes to spanish B team. it wasnt tat case in fifa07. it's easier to control. so, personally i dont think it failed big time

thanks for the link. surprisingly i had the same problem as u do. but it happens to me before and after patching. after playing for awhile, usually 30 mins+ the game crash. i had to save before and after every match as precaution.

btw, i do think that the update coz the game crash on my pc. it wont crash in 3d mode but when it in progress.
also it will crash when i build the road in stadium expansion (by dragging the mouse).
if i do it click by click then it is okay.

i choose Chelsea and able to get alot of fantastic players. as espected, drogba is the highest scorer for EPL. average 1-2 goals per game. hehe.

Anybody experienced bugs in Fifa Manager 2008?
I experienced 2 bugs here.
First is Player Search Skills parameter doesn't work properly. Even if you set min. 80, they will list out those skills below 80 for you in the filter search.
2nd, when I click the stadium expansion, straightway it reboot my PC.
I have tried many times and still it is like this.
Anybody experienced this before?

last time i play fifa manager i got trouble with player fitness even after rest the player 2 games it still hard to gain back the fitness.. whats the main problem? till then i give up with this game already

the trick is make sure you have sufficient training ground before the start of a new season. if you can get your players to optimum fitness and organize at least 6 games before that, i can assure you your player fitness wont be an issue.
and try not to rotate them too much. it might make the players lose morale.

I tried 4-4-2 with good defenders, can defend very well. however most of my 4-4-2 goals come from crosses, so u'll need strikers with amazing heading abilities if u play 4-4-2.
Currently i'm using 4-3-1-2, didn do as well as 4-4-2 defensively but enuf attacks to win. i think if u wan clean sheets u need a very good GK. i was managing newcastle, Shay Given injured for like few months so i got rid of him and bought Hugo Lloris from some French team. i think he's 20 yrs old then. the 1st season was totally disastrous... goals conceded from everywhere.. makes me wonder if i got the wrong guy.
fortunately he improved well having played every game under me
the following seasons he just got better n better. now in his 4th season almost all his playing skills is 99 LOL

i just started to play this game.i wonder how to go out with your gf or what. cause i cannot find that button for it lah. i saw from the new center and they said i got problem with relationship and need to go out with gf but i cannot find the button o.

Thought it was Hyundai cars, either way still Korean car. Anyway I've started playing Fifa Manager 2008 not long ago, well at least now it isn't too easy compared to last time.
