you ask for the wrong thing, internet connection is supposed to work continuously for days and weeks, if it doesnt you should ask streamyx support to fix it for you, or it could be your problem, os, setup or crappy router/modem, solve the real problem.

this thread also confuse me... why dont u switch off and on your router.it got nothing to do with your computer. maybe u can try reconnect the network cable...
my guess, your streamyx cause a problem due to crappy streamyx line in your place or maybe your phone line already kaput. u can ask streamyx, or call their contractor. they will come to your home and do a troubleshooting.

Too many connections (such as BT) might cause the router to hang. I'm using Level1 as well.
PM me if you need a script to do that.

same as mine, when i used it 1st time, it gave me the same problem, so i use D-link now, no more this problem. I guess tmnet provide a "super extra" cheap modem to users.

I thought routers are originally made to keep connection alive 0.0 ? Tmnut provides useless modem, dont ever bother getting from them anyways.

Well, format the pc is not a bad idea, since some virus or spyware can mess up with your OS where in some cases can kill some of your OS services that related to the internet/network connection. I have this problem with my vista quite a few times where whenever host service is down, i cant connect to the internet. have to restart in order to start the service back.
At least thats what happen to me. After format the pc, its all back to normal.
