is izzi better or streamyx better ?

whoahh this is a good topics, so anyone that is ex-streamyx migrate to izzi user tonight, plesz give a comments.

my cousin said he can get up to 1.5mb using this izzi, he just use it for 1 month, let`s see how far can he go with this izzi, later on i`ll update .. oh ya! he said no throttling using bittorent, is it true? upfront payment a bit high dow!~ =)

I tried izzi at a couple locations and got the following results with speednet KL:
digitalmall @ section 14, pj -- below 100kbps / just above 100kbps
giant kinrara -- just above 200kbps / around 100kbps
The sales guy told me if you surf outdoors the speed would be better!
As if my room or my office is at the park.

well i m front subang ! trying get a internet that can play world of warcraft ! and i tryed streamyx ! i could say it really sucks n terrible cause some time up n down !

I'm working at izzi.

So,if for mobility,izzi is better,
Playing online game,still streamyx better.

for me, i dont trust speedguide.net to test my izzi speed.

How come I able to download at 50-60 kBps (peak period) while speed guide give me 150 kbps downstream 60 kbps upstream.

Offpeak, able to download (using download manager) close to promised speed (1 Mbps), but speed guide only give me 300 kbps.

I chose both server to evaluate my testing...Singapore and Malaysia (Metrofon?)

Perhaps....izzi might have probs with single thread download data kot

heh, even edwinlim (he/she is izzi reseller mind you), tell you taht online gaming is better on streamyx, I will not play oversea online gaming using streamyx anymore when i have izzi (except tonight...grr). I have consistent bad experience with tmnet proxy server to cache up oversea file. The lagging really obvious. Rose Online, Flyff, 2Moons, even some private server hosted in US or EU, seriously, I need to find good IP for my streamyx before i could play almost lagless.

With izzi, in term MMORPG, the game always lagless , perhaps delay in 0.3 second which you might not able to tell the different at all. Ping to jaring, always give me around 80-150 ms. Google give me 300 ms. So, actually wireless is not so laggy . The stability of ISP server is much more important for my case.

But for heavy ftp download, streamyx still the best . 1 mbps package, able to full throtle download 150++ kBps . No sweat. For izzi, you need to settle with 45-65 kBps currently (Kelana Jaya has Izzi roadshow...so..izzi spectrum suddenly over populated here)

One thing I would like to consider is term of contract.

Streamyx = 2 years.
Phone line = 1 year

So, even their service damn bad, sucky or what so ever, you have no choice but be patient, call the support number, wait and wait...like what i did for the rest 5 bloody years.

izzi = 7 days, 3 month, 6 months, a year (T&C apply). Upon completion your very first year subscription, the iburst modem is yours, which you can use in any country support iBurst, eg, Australlia.

Is Izzi available at Klang (Bandar Botanic)? I'm currently using GoLightSpeed but they are terminating their services in my area end of this month. Am looking for a wireless broadband now. Any suggestions please?

Since last month, my e-mails to GoLightSpeed have not been going through to them and I had a couple of service disruptions too. Then got a notice from them that due to restructuring, they're no longer providing broadband services to Bukit Tinggi and Bandar Botanic.

Trust me, nothing beats TM although most of us hate what they are offering and how they treat us consumers but at the end of the day Streamyx is still the best buy.

The problem is that IZZI plan to launch the 2mbps package target 1st quarter 2008. And there is no free upgrade from the current 1mbps users which was confirmed by a reseller despite the rumors. Hmmm.... better to wait as it is not that long.

migrate to Sg and use Singnet is the best solution...

second opinion, metrofon and penangfon... move to their supported list condo (should be cheaper compare to become immigrant at SG )

since u work in iZZi. There r thousand question i wan to ask u n hope u can answer me

brief info: I subscribed iZZipro, location cheras near taman muda/pandan indah. I put iZZi wireless modem near the window(2nd floor). hop up to a LAN with 2 pc. No proxy, no firewall. Linksys wireless router(i forget the model),router setting-default with auto reconnect. No heavy donwload.

1. Y my connection speed slow like shit recently? Ex: i visit www.youtube.com. i try to watch bleach there. Video time 8mins++. i will NEVER success get full length of the video. It always end up stop at 30sec or 1mins. y?

1a. Last time there is a iZZi staff contacted n said it will be better after they setup a tower near my area on sep/15/07(around that). True! I feel it is faster..... for 1 month. Now the connection back to stone age. Sumtime i stupid enuf until tried put the wireless modem outside the window, but make no difference. wat happened?

2. i visit low yat site(local site). it tot me around 1 mins to load up the main page. y?

3.sumtime i use BT for video. Same seed, dl from iZZi and from my fren streamxy. my fren 1 is 15kbps++. my1 is 100bps or 0.1kbps? what the hell is this? Am i using 56kbps ?

4.Sumtime i wan to make online booking for hotel or online billing. This is the greatest 1, i can login but cannot make payment or booking. Note:all this is secure site using https. y if when i visit secure i frequent get "page cannot be displayed" or "connection time out"?

5. Weekend, iZZi connection speed make me want to turn off the router. I know weekend is peak season, but reali tat peak meh? until i always get "server connection timeout", "page cannot be displayed".

7.Ok, last 1, when i wan normal http dl, dl speed is from 1kbps - 20kbps or 30kbps. Wow, i appreciated if it more than 30kbps.

My situation now, i oledi sent 2nd complaint email to iZZi. i'll unsubscribe the service if i do not get a satisfy feedback, n subscribe to Streamyx SOHO. blah~~~ I will update here when i received any feedback from iZZi, so that this can be a study case for those decide to subscribe to iZZi.

i am izzi reseller too. there is no one perfect provider. some area are very good and some are bad or even no coverage. my customer from serdang make a few complaint, the customer service ask him to opt for refund because izzi have a money back guarantee. i remember telling u guys before GoLightSpeed Broadband, wont last for long wan. Their boss 'the fatty' his head full of stupid ideas n he wont listen to anybody feedback or advise. So his pasal lah. Only lasted like for 4 years in d market only.

Go screamyx and have fun complaining like other ISPs. There is nothing much you can do when you have a lame policy in the country.

Frankly, i've used Streamyx for about 4 to 5 years...never have a problem except once or twice when there's a major international link down which can't be helped.

I always get almost the speed limit. Most of the time I get about 90% of the speed limit. Furthermore, it's the only one that can do all...dynamic ip, bt, skype, rapidshare etc etc.

If your place has a Streamyx and you don't need mobility, always go for streamyx first. Current wireless broadband will not beat Streamyx unless you stay next to a tower that support HSDPA for Maxis/Celcom.

As far as I know and understand the broadband industry and their tech...

Izzi is good for outdoor mobility but still limited to location at the moment.

Inside a building... signal is weak and can be unstable unless you are sitting at the window and there is no tall building blocking the signal.

Wired broadband will always be more stable.

Sure its going to depend on location as well, but i was wondering would this happen due to more and more subscriber taking up the single signal in a particular area which made the connection become slower and slower?

I'm staying at the 21st floor of an apartment in Jalan Ipoh. I heard that izzi signal can't go above 10 floors, and the higher you are the weaker it is.

Anyone care to give more info on this if it's true?

Agree! Izzi is a total let down. I'm staying at Sunway. Signal strength very cun, 100% all the time. But speed sux like hell. D/L rarely reach 20kbs. Yeah, i don't know y but the speed test i get from the izzi website is like quite fast. But when in action, is really So from my experience, better don't suscribe to it.

Btw, i'm staying at a terres house. I call the agent/helpline, last time said got problem lah, then next time said will check lah, then some said, eh? here no problem woh, i will help u check..... Really fed up v it.

Stability and Speed wise, nothing beat Streamyx. Not saying streamyx is perfect, but it is the best among the worst.

FYI,Izzi can actually support up to 50 floors. Its using radio frequency. This means that the theory of surfing the net is similar like you listen to radio. Go ahead and get one, but make sure your place is covered! Or else you might have problem about the connection n all. Try to ask the promoter where is the base station in jalan ipoh. If its near your house (<7km) means good alr. Have fun

Hmm... As far as i'm aware of, 1 base station can support minimum 3k users. Furthermore, izzi is upgrading their service into double base station per area. All you have to do is be a bit patient. Sometimes its due to the government policy that it does not simply allow them to build the base station. You know la, how "good" is MY governement. I heard they said if no nid to get license and all, 2 weeks can open up new base station ady. Haiz....

Oh, one more thing...this is also to other readers, izzi is not using the 'area based system' meaning that 1 base station gives out the signal and whoever has the device (aka modem) detects the signal and received it. Its using the 'smart adaptive athenna system' to give out its radio frequency. Just like listening to radio. Have you ever experienced that you get the radio signal but ur fren can't receive from the same channel while he/she is just beside you? Normally the answer is No. So don't worry

can anyone make a list of upfront payment difference between iZZi/streamyx/maxis and celcom too? its easy for a newbie to check.
