Any S2.1D owners out here experienced a faulty digital input - BOTH on the coax and optical input?
Less than a year it konked out on me and the warranty ran out (because I was too lazy to send it in - yeah, I know, my fault)
The set's been tested to death on 2 different systems. I know for the fact it's RIP.

Analogue input still works fine, but the faulty digital inputs nags on my mind.

I'm about to open the box to search if there's any faulty electrolytic caps etc. ... but before that
Anyone (familiar with electronics) have a fair guess what the faulty component could be?

hmm do u mind to send your set to our showroom and check it ?

Not trying to sound unappreciative on the response or anything, but having the set checked in the showroom accomplishes nothing.
It's out of its 1 year warranty and I'm not sure if paying for its repair is worthwhile if a single power cap (for example) is the root cause.

I'm not an expert in electronics, but I know enough as a hobbyist. Thanks for your time.

if no mind then just let me chekc what is that problem realy on then only tell u want to repair or not ?
because s2.1d realy are a nice and nice speaker

Yes, S2.1Ds are nice speakers.

I opened the box, nice use of a toroidal transformer. I'm really disappointed at the quality of the PCB board and the liberal use of epoxy glue to secure the DAC module. It makes fixing the DAC module almost impossible, half the board is "cemented together" and even a straight swap would be difficult. Another thing, the main VRM cooling is inadequate. A proper HS should have been put instead of just attaching them to the back plate. I've got a piece of my mind to say to whomever is responsible for the Edifier speaker manufacturing ... not kind words I can assure ... words like "idiot" comes to mind ...

As of now, next best thing I can do is to test the line outputs from the DAC to the main PCB and check if the DAC module is getting enough power.

I'll bring it over to Low Yat once I've exhausted my options. This thing's too heavy to carry around casually.
