The team here is not to be blamed for any compatibility issues. If it is the manufacturers fault for manufacturing a faulty part, argue with them. More expensives LCDs can be viewed even at less than 45 degrees compared to the cheaper ones I think

better take the X2 3600 Brisbane dude..lower power consumption and very overclockable too (even if u dont want, i bet someday later u would like to try it)..

anyway since u plan on building the SFF rig, i recommend u the Biostar TForce T690G, or just take Biostar 6100..both are mATX size mobo..the price is below than RM300, for me its a good price for the features offered..

- I am curious to, why you are suggesting me to get X2 3600+. Lower power consumption sounds good, but I have no plans for overclocking at all. I chose X2 3800+ because it has a higher cache at an extra of RM30, since the price difference of both processors are RM240 & RM270.

- Not necessarily that i have to build SFF, but it would be an advantage if I could. I notice that SFF barebone rigs are quite expensive.

the brisbane core x2 3600+ (not the windsor)has the same cache as the x2 3800+ at 2 x 512kb

yes, u have no plans, but who knows, later u might wanna try it..after all, this brisbane can be overclocked up to 2.5GHz with stock vcore..

FYI X2 3600 Brisbane has same cache with X2 3800 Windsor, which is 512x2..
perhaps the one that u mentioned is X2 3600 Windsor, 256x2 cache..

and currently the price for X2 3600 Brisbane is only RM195..trust me, i just bought it 2 days ago..

IC, in that case, 6600GT wouldnt be that bad either. Maybe you could look around in case a good deal in 2nd handed 7300GT pops out. AFAIK, its selling around RM200 and less in Garage Sales...

Well, the reason i am asking you to search is that i previously own the 7300GT and it really performs well. At least on my side for being such a cheap low level card. I am able to play most of the games on 1024 * 768 at HIGH to Max setting (with AA , AF off) and very satisfied with the gaming experience. Never owned the 6600GT before but considering the fact that so many jump the bandwagon from the 6600GT to 7300GT last time during the launching, i guess the latter should be the better one to choose. RM100 for a 6600GT is still a worthy buy but at best, look for the 7300GT (If lucky, you might even get the 256MB one..)..Just make sure its GDDR3 and you will be fine..

Barton was a very hot processor, wasnt it? plus its default voltage is higher, thus cause the temperature to be rising drastically when full load..
so, X2 3600 is always cooler, better than Barton..

u can get it from lyp..check the cheapest price offered by PCZone and Viewnet..both of them offering lower than RM200..

that's still lower than X2 3600+, regardless of whether windsor or brisbane core.

so for me, the difference is barely noticeable..do u can tell how fast is P4 3.2GHz than P4 3.0GHz?
i used both (3600 and 3800) before, and Brisbane is better for me since its cooler and very overclockable..and yes i didnt notice any difference so far..

Biostar 6100 is cheap, yet its good for budget oriented user..
at least with that price (around RM200), its the best mobo, better than MSI, Gigabyte and Asus in that range..

yes Biostar 6100 has an onboard graphic, i dun think it will cause a problem if u r using an independent graphic card right? at least ur pc still can be used without gc, but of course u need to sacrifice some space of ur ram..

for that budget, perhaps u can go for 7600 series..
if u can fork out up to RM500, go for 7900GS..
8series? dun take the card lower than 8600GT..

from my eperience of using more than 10 pieces of Corsair VS,90% of them stable @ 850MHz, (relabelled chipset),so that's mean the E21xx can oc to 3.0GHz no problem,if ur setup is less hardwares (1 hdd,1 dvdrom and 1 standard gc),normal psu will do.

u can try ur luck with L629F125,irenic last time can hit 3.825GHz with 1.42vcore (depend ur lcuk,no promise those good batch can do some nice overclocking,i mean,not all L629F125 can do the same result as irenic did.)

bro,if the pc is for surfing and office work (assignment),i think a rm1k pc will do the jobs perfectly.

but if u look at it properly,he wans a quite good mobo and light gaming card from the hardware it mention.

if u wan good graphic card,it doesn't come from asus and MSI which mainly manufacture mobo.look for brands which mainly make GC not mobo.example:galaxy,winfast,gainward cardxpert,XFX, and many others.

Guys, which specs should I opt for?
Currently, the X2 system has an advantage for me, as it comes in a M-Atx form. Smaller casing could be handy for me.

Light gaming, probably for CS, Dota or WoW.
Mainly for watching movies.
Low budget, but don't mind forking extra if worth it.

1. onboard graphic card.
2. the board on option #2 is using old chipset, so that's why i choose option #1.

i told a friend to get a brisbane am2 3600+ x2 and biostar tf6100. he ended up with a biostar ta690g cos it has supposedly newer and better chipset and still within his budget. he's using a mushkin 1x 1Gb ddr667. going to oc but not to the bleeding edge limit i think. only using it for internet, movies, light games.


i see some people's sig using this combo. any comments on it running stock/overclocked?
