A Passport Network account requires a valid e-mail account, which you cannot create during sign-up. To set up a free Hotmail account, visit MSN Hotmail.
3. Turn on your system with no disc in the tray. From the Xbox Live[b/] area of the Xbox Dashboard, select the [b]Xbox Live banner. This will open the Xbox Live area of the Xbox Guide.

4. Select Join Xbox Live and follow the on-screen instructions.

Here you will have the option to change your gamertag. You'll also supply information like the e-mail address and password associated with your Passport Network account, your country/region, your language, your name, and your phone number.

Tip

You can enter information using either a USB PC keyboard plugged into a controller port or your Xbox 360 controller and the on-screen virtual keyboard.
5. When prompted, select your desired membership type from the list of options.

That's why we need more info now, like last time we also thought we "alien" xb360 owner are screwed, but we survived.

So we have to wait for official announcement. Like someone pointed out, there are alot of US soldier located in Iraq etc etc who also play Xb360. (quite a large sum of Halo 2 players are in the Army!)

We are still fighting a war to get Malaysia on the international level~ We won the first battle by getting our name on http://www.mygamercard.net/, interpreting Malay/Bahasa Melayu as one of the feature language.

Sometimes I just wish that the PS3 didn't screw up so badly. Microsoft needs a little competition to wake up and not act like they are the leader (oh wait, they are currently the leader).

I think it is Hollywood's fault. If Microsoft wants to globally release Gears of War or PGR3 content all over the world they can do it with a click of a mouse. I rather have no video marketplace at all due to our slowyx, leave it to the console which wants to bring the HD movies to the living room (PS3).

I can imagine the flaming that will occur on Major Nelson's blog when this news breaks out there.

it's not access control to live, if I understand gamerscoreblog's post properly the aggressive checking of region is only for tv shows and movies. not for anything else.

proxy connections will not work cause your console's region will be checked to see if they are able to download the content.

I encountered some problem while registering in Xbox Live just now:

1) i setup the wrong profile for my Xbox Live and associated with my existing Windows ID / Hotmail Email address... how do I undo that ?

2) I wanted to use my Credit Card to purchase Ms Points, but the card details must be linked to Singapore Details because I used Singapore region details to setup my account. I can't key in the correct billing information due to that. Any advise

1) u cant change ur live id once u have associated it with that gamertag. the only way is to create another gamertag with another live id

2) they dont check the billing address. i tried using ambank nexG, (around 10-20 times), but it doesnt work. but used my mom's maybank mastercard (or visa) forgot d, n it works. i did ask ambank's help center dude, he said that i must call them up first prior to making online purchasing (for international purchases lah), so that they remove the restrictions on the cards, be it currency conversion or taxes or some other things.

if judging by the news, it seems that not only the movie show are being blocked, as the case of mentioning German country. as many will know, German have ban quite alot of 360 games, e.g GoW. it's a big possibilities that games content will also be blocked. if going by technical, i see 2 probabilities how they implement the controls, e.g for US account:

1. if the country is not US, all the content will be blocked.
2. if the country in the supported country show the country's marketplace, otherwise show the marketplace according to the account.

there are possibilities for the number 2, since MS didn't partners with the unsupported country they doesn't need to do any control for that country. this is if MS being lenient. otherwise we'll end up scourging for tunneling server. so better start pray2 it will be implemented like the number 2.

that only apply if connecting to LIVE, if i understand what that dork trying to say.
unfortunately it's not that simple. yeah, he's a US citizen, but he still need to abide by the country law he's currently in. US you can freely go to any video store and buy adult movie, if in SG you think can ar? like game content for GoW, German already ban the game, surely the German don't want their people still can download GoW content by manipulating the 360 account. if the people can manipulate, the blame will falls to MS.

Does anyone have this problem when the content that u are downloading shows for example 25% for a long time.. then I have to cancel the dl n dl it again and then it shows like 30%..

That's normal. It happens to me on days where I got bad Streamyx connection.

what is the recommended speed to use on live? i'm using maxis wireless but it sucks big time. update oblivion also take 40 mins. play online only manage to get 1 proper game running out of 10.
btw i'm in bkt antarabangsa. any gamers there?

On Xbox's website, they only mention that the requirement is High-speed Internet service (cable or DSL). They didn't mention about minimum connection speed requirement.

IMHO, the ping to the Xbox Live server is more important than connection speed, and since you're using Maxis Wireless, the ping will suck compared to normal wired broadband.

whenever i connect and asked for update live....it won't update. it'll show can't connect to live and asked to test the connection. i tested the connection after that, it seems to be alrite. any idea guys?
