Maybe your nose is sensitive?
Is your room dusty?
Seldom wash the bed linen?
Not exposed to sunlight and air?

Hyper sensivity maybe? Have you checked with a doctor? Antihistamines may provide some temporary relief.

consult your doctor, he will give u a nasal spray as a temporary solution and if it doesnt work you will have to go for a minor surgery where they enlargen your lubang hidung

Also try not to dig your nose in the morning, its hypersensitive especially being in a cold room(air conditioned).

If it has been there since few years ago or since young, it won't be easy to "fix". I'm experiencing this too!

if u sleep in a air-con room, don't! try sleeping in a fan room. n of course the fan have to move, dont let it blowing still at one direction. esp. ur head.
n if u take late nite bath. dont take cold ones. try to take bath 2 hrs before u sleep.

Anonymousmich, what you suggested are improving the environment? You're still not fixing the root cause which is the body itself.
Speaking from my experience, I have tried a lot of supplements; from basic Vitamin C to whatever spirulina, cod liver, ginseng pill, ecchinecia, selenium, aromatherapy and etc. Still I'm suffering for sinus/flu.

I used to have such problems too when I was younger, but no longer. Perhaps due to my healthier lifestyle for the past few years. Exercise, good diet, enough rest.

Try washing your nose...I mean suck water with your nose and blow it out.
A lof of germs etc. in the nose after we woke up in the morning.
(Remember during the haze thing? Each morning I feel like I breathe on burned smoke through the night

Damn Indonesia)
You sneeze a lot in the morning?
Better cut those nose hair a bit...don't let it stick out.
Lastly, see a nose specialist.
Could be
'resdung' ...dangerous...could spread and infect cheeks.
Healthier life too.
Don't smoke, exercise & diet.
No liquors at all would be better.
Air condition is bad...makes body dry.
Currently raining season...so...extra care.

I've also been suffering with this for years..every morning i wake up my nose gets blocked..then after bathing i suddenly start sneezing & sneezing, even in school. really a nightmare man..sometimes it's hard to concentrate while studying. I've tried all those spirulina, vitamin C's , cod liver oil..but nothing seems to work! I think we have to change our lifestyle. Sleep properly, have regular exercise and eat the right food at the right time. Still trying hard though..good luck to you mate.

i used to have very frequent runny nose and flu, ends up with lots of 'paper wantan'.
Well, what i did was, try improving the clean conditions of the places i am in, that i would spend lots of time in.
that means, cleaning, wiping, mopping, so that they remains at least dust free.
secondly, i'll avoid cold bath/shower if its over 6pm. Dunno why, after 6pm the body can feel the coldness from the water and runny nose will follows soon after or latest by next day.
thirdly, be hydrated enough everyday.

Vitamin C won't help much if you have sinus for many years.

Nasal spray is containment solution. The concept is just like asma spray.

Wrapping "wantan" is very custome to my daily life. Occasionally has running nose.

Improving cleaniness does help but this will be environment factor. Not just health or immune system factor.
On the contrary, I'll avoid cold shower in the early morning, 6 to 10am. Cold shower in the evening on an ordinary Malaysian, hot and warm day is tolerable.

like David83 said, breathing by mouth is strongly not advisable
1 of the reason is, you will have bad odour in mouth
other reason... can let source of allergic get in, or even bugs...

Yea, for some reason if the person's immune system is weak, infection will progress into serious infections like sinusitis, pneumonia or etc. I have chronic rhinitis as my nose is sensitive to environment factors like dusts, temperature (cold), UV rays (nose lining), strong perfumes.. etc...

There is a method used to determine whether the honey is pure or not.
Dip the honey into egg's yolk, if you can see the egg's yolk is cooked, then you can say the honey is pure. I read about this method from a newsletter quite long time ago.
