Hi All,
Jay here, thanks da man invited me to take part this contest!
My concept and idea behind this design:
I was thinking of something new, extraordinary and young. So i didnt direct using the color image but i try to illustrate it and make it more simple. Not only that, this elements are easy to make tee printing and the color wise is more solid and outstanding.
I used black, white and red to represent the design because of i tried to follow the consistency of the identity of Lowyat.net. Therefore, when people look at it they will know it is lowyat.net when they saw the red color.
I was tying to design something young and trend fashion like now a days the teenagers or youngster they like to buy bodyglove or tropicana. Therefore, i created something new and trend for lowyat.net. * means lowyat.net is young.
Font wise i just make an experiment for it, my comment is Lowyat.net logo can be more simple and nice. So i created a set for the t-shirt design.
That's my simple explaination. Thanks!
cheers,
Jay

pretty nice and creative.
but what about back side design?
JayLim
Apr 12 2007, 01:59 PM
Just one side is enough already. Because it is more simple and nice. Not neccessery both side.

Your concept is there but the design is too busy. You used overlapping designs over the other. The way I look at it, the main piece is the two guys with a background and a rectangular bottom. That design alone is already good.
Below this 'main piece' is a new 'lowyat' design which you put in a circular pattern. Separate this circular pattern from the main piece and make another t-shirt for it. The 'lowyat' pattern by itself is very well done but distracted/covered by the main piece. Hope I make sense...
EDIT: The t-shirt itself is black. So one of the 'lowyat' word in your circular pattern should not be black, or it cannot be seen

I guess there's 2 main school of thoughts here: one who wants to be cool, the other wants to have some meaning. I guess I'm the latter. Anyway, good luck.

anyway jaylim, very nice design.
by having pros entering this competition, i hope alot will learn something new.

actually is same. no matter what software u use, final the answer is same. (dont say u use very very old version one la)
But the main thing is the execution, art direction and the style. These will make your design strong. Instead of this, concept and idea also important.
