A quick question. How many torrent can we run at the same time? Last time was 4 and now in this new version, I have 7 torrent running at the same time. So I was wondering how many can we run at the same time.

It is still the same..you can have 4 downloads at a time. It was up to 9pm just now you are allowed to download more than 4 torrents at a time.

It means that say you have 2GB of space but you want to download torrent more than 2GB of torrent but wish to select certain files only, you can do that now. Previous version did not allow it.

my torrent all in queue again

okay this is weird. 1st all of my torrent stopped. I got transfer died or something. Then I wanna start it back, start it but it just went queue. Then I tried stopping all of them and starting everything back. This time the torrent starts, but the thing is, ALL of them start without any being queued. I'm guessing something is really wrong.

oh yeah another thing, HTTP speed has been somewhat incosistent today. If its good can get past 600kb/s. If not can even drop below 100kb/s. And that is with 30 connection!

Speed is very slow now , i run 4 torrents only get 80+kbps in total...

Is all the problem coming from the new version? I mean, been problematic ever since the upgrade. And right now, with that button below the table 'Start all transfer', I can practically run all torrent and not be limited by '5 torrent at a time' limit.

And not to mention the unstable HTTP downloads...

Server is very slow because it almost working on full load , and no more bandwith for http/ftp download ...

torrent speed-wise I'm getting around that much for each torrent. <20kb/s. but as I'm doing a bit older torrent wasn't expecting any amazing speed...

My torrent is very hot torrent ... and yet...would you think amavant is too heavy to handle the current users?

Btw, torrent speed is fine for me. can get a decent speed once it get enough momentum. Just the HTTP speed still like roller-coaster

My torrent has got a lot of seed and peers i try connect up to 200+ peers , the speed like very slow, try put lower number of connection , the speed is killing me..

Why I'm having a problem with the get URL? Countless of time. Error: "metafile download is disabled" (Even though that torrent direct link? Not Redirect link.)

Does the 'Page refresh' need to be turned on manually everytime I login to the Torspace?

And sometimes when I upload the file (after failing to get .torrent via Get URL), why there's a popup "Another Request is in Progress......" ? Sure, couple times of refresh or login/logout do work but is this necessary everytime?

sometimes no matter how fast amavant, it still need to connect to another peer and depending on the seeder too , maybe you try another torrent see how is the results

edit: sometimes it goes over 400kb which i seen most the time, the torrent above were just started..the speed will pickup later, anyway im off to sleep.

Yes, we did some mainttenance last night as we were having some quota issue. How ever, everything is fine now. To check how much speed you can get, try downloading a torrent with lots of seeds. For example:

With a default setting:
This torrent: ubuntu-7.04-desktop-i386.iso.torrent
Seeds: 38+0.122
Peers: 1
DL Speed: 780.0 kB/s and still increasing

And also 'Get File + Queue' and 'Upload + Queue' will also make the torrent just queue without starting.

ok wassup with the download speed? im using flashget to download 1 of the finished torrent to my comp and it was around 100kb/s for 3 minutes and then just 0 kb/s until now (around 20 minutes) . Ive tried restarting the download also same.

Not exactly ALOT, but 55 seeder with 51 peer and only 14.6kb/s. Pretty low I'd say...

it is too early for me to say.. it is has been less than a week i used this service. within the last few days, amavant moved to a new server, twice deleted files abruptly which is quite annoying, customer service can do a bit of improvement (but i bet these guys are too busy trying to make service more efficient).

downloading stuff is like a yoyo, sometime fast, sometime just dead flat. transferring file from amavant to pc at the moment can be quite frustrating. like i said too early to say, hopefully after all this hiccups, amavant can be much better, well i do hope.

in the meantime, i am also using bolehvpn, which is reliable and doesn't have the storage limit, customer service also top class. but like i said before, amavant just going thru a hiccup, i believe that it will get better.

Well when I registered a week ago, it sure was sweet. HTTP downloads are pretty much constant and the web panel is fast. These day been problematic ever since the upgrade. The first wipe has already been warned so can't complaint there but the 2nd one was annoying. Suddenly have to start everything all over again. Then the HTTP speeds become crazy. Just now only got an average of 190kb/s. Bear in mind I can get up to 890kb/s last time. Then the web panel become somewhat slow.

All in all, it is a great service for me who can't torrent at my uni nor at my home. But I really hope the service can overcome the trouble and regain back its glory before all the problem arises.

excentric, how did you get that fast xfering from amavant to your PC?
my streamyx is 1mb line and i can only get max 100kb/s
what ip do you use when you download from amavant?

the speed for torrent is fast but when transfering to my pc, its just too frustrating.

for those file which comes in alot of parts in 1 folder, have to download 1 by 1 manually.

Anyway regarding your question asciii, for me it would be older version. The new version has a better quota system for selective download, but it is a cost of everything slowing down. I can live without the selective download option but can't live if everything were to slow down.

Although I'm not fond of using the new version, the selective torrent task is quite a catch there. But the speed slightly decreased, high server load probably due to something that is resource intensive. Or it might be something else. Who knows.

I think Amavant should be given time (2 or 3 days) to troubleshoot the problem. There's always gonna be a new version. And there's always gonna be a problem when upgrading versions. Probably limiting numbers of users for a server might solve the problem.

If there's a need for answer, then: Old Version FTW! But that's the last solution.

hmm, actually i dont mind what version that we are using. but, i think the old is much better.

For me, i like the new version which incorprate selective download. But the respond time seems slow. But the simplicity of the old one is better. Can't we use old version but with selective download. Since almost all my tv series download have finished. I'm moving to selective download to fill some gaps.

Lucky i save the torrent link inside my pc first before last deletion announcement. So easy to remember.

So, for me, i like the old design, but i need the selective download functions.

add: plus i got one torrent that stuck at 86% because i reach my 2gb limit, but i can't stop/delete the torrent. I already clear my other files. I even delete the file to start again, but the torrent file still there stuck at 86% with 33kbs transfer rate no change.

agree, agree...those feature selective download is awesome! so users could download those large bundle tv-series.

the service will download the torrent for you. So no need to use any torrent software. And you just use any download manager to download from their server. Good for anyone like me which my company block the use of torrent but permit direct download.
