My 1st impression..

this is my 1st hour of using Amavant service.

tried downloading season finale of a popular US TV series from TorrentSpy with seeder/leecher ratio of 5000++/11,000 ++ but the speed was so slow at
1.6KBps after 10 minutes that I basically gave up.

I will try downloading oversea torrent with good seeder/leecher ratio later.

Then I downloaded a 1.1 gb file off a local private tracker.
This is what I got! (refer to attachment)


Edited: Sadly when downloading off Amavant's HTTP direct download, speed fluctuates between 20 - 75kBps max, with 10 simultaneous connections (max connections allowed by FlashGet). FTP download are far worse.

Will try again during the night.

Off-topic: can somebody recommend me a download manager that allows us to do 30 or more simultaneous connections ???

I know this sounds like evil, but find FlashGet 'special patch'. It will allow of simultaneous connection of 100 after you apply the patch.

worth it, i plan to upgrade it if its keep continue the great services (or give me free upgrade la hahaha)

i run max for my line 120kb stable, using ftp..but http a bit disappointed not really that fast but overall can get 50kb-80kb

other than that...wooo 400kb when using amavant to dl good seeded torrent will finish in no time , better than vpn from my experiance

cons: user dont have much control other than download and delete torrent, if anything happen need to wait admin to assist thats all for example torrent stuck, and minor glithches

exactly the problem I have right now. Add POTC 2:DMC, and for some reason TorrentFlux can't detect it as I got 'file could not be found or does not exist'. can't even delete it. Help?

Pay for a month of 2gb usage this morning, within 2 hours, already up and running! Horray.

Yes, the speed for torrent which have big seeds will astonish you, the 2gb is easily filled within the next 30 minutes. Yep you heard me. 30 minutes. Anyway to continued download, i need to clear the space first, by downloading these 2gb files into my computer first.

I just wondering, is it true you can go for 100connection. I download 4 files in one times and i count the max is only 30 connection. My IDA allowed 8 max per file. So the 1st three files is max at 8 the last one only 6. Average speed for all 30 connection - 200kbs not bad.

After about 2 hours, finish download, clear the file in their server, start again. Simple.

oh by the way, why in http i cant download more than 1 connection per file, but ftp ok?

i am using cyberduck for mac, so not sure how to check how many connection. even if i use flashget thru window, the connection is like 10kb/s. any idea on how many connection using flashget or what should i look for?

you can use 30 conenction for both FTP and HTTP. 1 connection for sure get that speed. but with 30 connection, the average I can get is around 400~500kb/s. If my connection is good (means no one is using), can get around 800~1000kb/s. Even if during the bads I can still get around 280~400kb/s.

how do you use FTP/http to download? And how do you use flashget to download as well? Please assist.

btw, which torrent site you guys normally download from? So far only piratebay works for me. The rest all will stuck at connecting at peers
