no proof of stability or whatsoever?
anyway, I suggest that you use the similar template as this database:
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/242290including the topic
I want everything standardized, then I'll consider moving this to the overclocking database.
Sanko
Mar 12 2007, 10:06 AM
soulfly, gonna do that. i mean the templates. i want everything to be standardized too. for the stability issue, if it's need then i'll put it up (by demand). for me it's not really what i'm emphasing here as my only concern is to compile a list of 24/7 voltages. therefore, i choose to believe lyn forummers that they will post their TRUE 24/7 setting, and not fake. the goal of this list is to get the average vcore, vdimm and oc rate for c2d/c2q users. i don't know whether it will work out of not but really hope it will.

What not include some more info in the database summary like:
1) Core temp/type of cooling
2) Ram timings/speed (since you have Vdimm)

hrmm.... i'll take that into consideration. i guess if the cooling method used does influence the vcore value as WC MAYBE can adapt higher vcore. but vdimm i guess not much influence. give me some time to think. the ram speed and timing is kinda hard to categorize but let's see what i can do.
anyway, the main reason i create such database just to show forummers what vcore and vdimm ppl use in their 24/7 setting. regardless of how high they can oc actually. it's like vcore will be the measument in newbie oc quest for a 24/7 oc setting.

I think core temp and type of cooling (including type of HSF or WC kit) is helpful. Newbie's can follow the info given but may not be aware that the proc is running at too high a temperature!

Sorry if I'm posting at the wrong place but out of all the topics I've read through, this one seems to be the most suitable for me to ask my question. My question is simple, the stock vCore is 1.325, I see most of you guys have the higher vCore to reach your OC target. If I'm running a stable OC (8 hours+ Orthos) but my vCore is below the stock vCore e.g 1.225, will it be okay? Will it cause anything, any harm?
Sanko
Oct 17 2007, 02:28 PM
as far as i know. nope, it won't hurt. lower vcore/vdimm should be better for 24/7. hehe..

Thanks for your reply but I need more people to confirm on this. I'm lowering my vcore again as I've tested and it's stable. I can go to the lowest vcore as long as I'm stable right? Any harm or side effects please? Or like Sanko say it should be better if I could get lower vcore as in much lower than the stock vcore.
One more question, how do I check my vdimm please? I can only find my vdimm using EasyTune5 but it seems inaccurate to me on both vcore and vdimm. Any other softwares or anything to check my vdimm please? vcore I can check in BIOS but not vdimm.

Reaching 3.2GB on performance ram would be easier but i doubt that it will be at a lower vcore since FSB will still be high.
