15 Aug 07 : IP addresses of WoW Realm Servers are posted. Click Here.

Updated until Post #348

Post your fast connections here with the following information. Don't post half-half else it's not much point for others who also want to connect onto the fast line. I'm screening through latency postings of the last 3-4 days to get some more input in (when I got time). Have to disregard the older latency postings : either out-of-date or IP is starting to lag.

Also state the time that you connected onto to that IP.

Only fast connections to playing WoW. With WoW + TS Speak / Ventrilo playing. No BitTorrent/browser in the background. Acceptable latency is 300-500 ms which is the norm provided no lag spikes in-game (check if it's in-game latency with your guildmates before posting here).

Note that crowded servers will also affect your lag. New servers are usually lag-free.

Post info in this format :

Name of housing area / city / town (need housing area ppl. all are sorted alphabetically)

Fast IP Connection
IP Number
Time that you connect that for sure gets the fast IP

Slow IP Connection
IP Number

Note : When posting IP connections, use like this e.g. 219.92.x.x (up to the 2nd number).
Posting one number e.g. 219.x.x.x (up to 1st number only) only gives you the location of the country (which can have more than 1 number).

Blue : Fast
Red : Slow
Green : Can be fast / slow depending on gameplay

Bangsar/Bukit Banadaraya - 60.50/49.......has been horrible late night this past week. After midnight, it tends to hover at or above 1000ms.

I'm a wow europe player so i don't expect to get the same ping as you US players. But ping after midnight has been horrible last 2 nights.

I normally ping my ventrilo server to check how fast my wow will run as both servers are located in the same place and I find that 218.111.17-18(lower numbers are usually better for me).xx usually gives the lowest latency.

PJ, SS3 btw.

I've been travelling a lot through the ASEAN region this past few weeks and i normally get pings to my vent server of about 220-270ms (that's in Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam). So i really don't see why TM can't get their act together and give us solid latency.

Tracert shows the problem is not with my exchange but further down the route. Ie.. the bottleneck is just before the packet leaves the TMnet exchange to the foreign router.

Singapore = rich and competitive so infrastruture setup is better. Annoying thing is that Telekom is one of the major shareholder of M1. Money should be channeled back here to fix their homeground system.

Thailand + Vietnam = not a lot of ppl on broadband I would think so lines are not full-up. Plus, probably got a better deal out of the international telcos than TMNet.

no successful acquisition of ip 218-ish, so far throughout all my dc anc rc efforts, i couldnt get it, not even once...

219.95.** and 219.95.*** -ish ips are NOT playable. AT ALL. With loads of lag spikes, ping exceeding 20k, as well as constant disconnection...

i yesterday jus got 218.208.***.***...
but de ping didn't touch yellow zone but it's better den b4...
less than 1k ping... it's in between 600 - 900 ping...

i guess best ip for wow in subang would be 218.111.***.***
Krovaxq
agreed,

for shah alam, klang subang jaya and nearby other places the best is 218.111.xxx.xx , with 218.208 seconds...

but 219.95. is TOTALLY no WOW...as that was the reason why i quit WOW last time, but givin it another shot of try tongue.gif

funny I used 219.95 and I got acceptable connection. 600-700ms. Good times good times. I'm on alterac mountains realm (PVP! nothing else comes close) and @ level 11 currently. Using trial but pretty damn tempted to get retail now. hahahaha. Using girl character called Elyanna. Whisper me and we can go partying on quests.

I like to play WoW during rain times. Nature kicks everyone in the housing area out. Haha!

Amazingly, my streamyx modem has been surviving since 2003. Never turned off except when I leave for hometown.

Your modem is either the luckiest one I know or the toughest. What brand? McLaine (Die Hard) aaa?

This is a list of barang that close lightning strikes have done to my PC in the last 3 years:
- Surge protector x2 (real bullshit)
- Power Supply x2
- modem x2
- motherboard x1

Maybe I should go farm some instances for nature resist gear for the PC.

218.xxx.xxx.xxx works well for me, typically 400-600ms latency.
219.xxx..xxx.xxx is typically 600-1000ms these days

Sec 16, PJ: 219.95.* 1000+ ms, mad lag spikes.

Got 218.* once early this month with 250-500ms smooth. but since then i've never been able to get a 218 IP again, even after writing a script to reconnect dsl for 18 hours. sad.gif
-TrUnKs-
yeah man.. no more 218 for me sad.gif really hopeless for online gaming with 219.. but theres 219 with no spike eg: 219.95.248.x -219.95.255.x this range u got no spike but higher latency (around 500-800).

It's the 1st generation of the ZTE ZXDSL 831. The Streamyx Tech told me that it's usually hardier than the newer versions of the modem.

Before I got a better surge protector, I was using a cheapo Voltage Regulator. Now, ended up using a Belkin 7-plug surge protector (nearly RM200) plus UPS (no choice after my 1st PC went kaput after a year).

For my first PC, had to changed out everything except for the Leadtek Graphic Card, Intel Chip and the above modem.

This is through almost daily rainstorms + lightning strikes in Kuching.

errr...which one is ok to do instances + raid?

coz your latency is sort of in the borderline. cutoff point is 600 ms so for 60.52.x at 400-800 ms is good or bad?
Quazacolt
to those getting 200-300ms, dont be fooled as its just the new latency meter (even since WoW 2.0 pre bc patch if im not mistaken) being more "accurate".

what does that accurate mean? basically if your in an area with like no one, your latency will most definately drop to 200-300 ms (provided your on a good IP range and so on)

once you start having activities, such as orgrimmar/ironforge AH, or starting to PVP like in AV or instance/raiding etc, your latency will rise to 300-500, on avg 400+ ms.

no matter how good lagmyx go its not possible to lower it any further due to the distance, and the retardedly congested gateway lagmyx is on. but know this, even good isp from singapore/australia for example, the best they can go is around 200ms anyways, i know its quite a huge difference (especially to pvp enthusiast), but there isnt really anything we can do till lagmyx steps up and stop suckin.

=edit=
oh and to adress with the topic:
218.111.xx.xx = around 400ms
218.208.xx.xx = around 500-600ms (but have certain issues in connecting to certain websites, or ventrilo servers, either timeouts or high ping spikes, but for WoW ok for most of the time)
219.94.xx.xx = around 400-500 ms (sometimes as good as 218.111, sometimes just a bit laggier of around 500ms)
219.95.xx.xx = around 500-1k++ ms (total BS ip range, no matter whats your purpose. it only worked miracly during the underwater cable break [the taiwan quake], having around 400-500ms ping, dont know how that happened, but it did. the moment the cable is restored, back to BS status.)

and i am from KL, taman intan baiduri (it is in between selayang jaya and kepong)

I'm a wow europe player so i don't expect to get the same ping as you US players.  But ping after midnight has been horrible last 2 nights.

Ah, a fellow EU WoW player. Which server/side do you play?

Haven't played much recently due to CNY/Work. Connection wise it varies a lot regardless of IP from my experience.

Regardless of the IP number, it usually comes down to how the time of day. Mornings for us are best generally, but probably cause I play on a busy server (Stormreaver). Connection is worst around 10pm-3am for gaming (I work nights so am able to sneak most of my gaming then laugh.gif )

Anyway, back to being on topic:

Kuching, Sarawak 1mb Streamyx
Stampin

60.52.*.* - Good most times. Best around 3am-11am - 300-800ms (Considered good for me sweat.gif )
124.82.*.* - 50/50 with this range. It's either great or completely laggy.

Info probably won;t be that handy unlss you're a EU player though. Can be annoying that my guild generally raids from 3am-6am sometimes blush.gif
