Well, sometimes there's some bad apples here in the jobs and careers section trying to hunt for potential victim.
So the main purpose of this thread is to
let people share/discuss/ask about any frauds/scams/incidents that are related to their work be it online or offline. Generally, everyone are welcome to post their stories here, however, please avoid rumored stories or spam replies like "OMG, is it true?" or "

". All of such replies will be deleted without any notice.
Lastly, I really wish that this place will be helpful for those who are new here or for those who doesn't have too much experience about such issues. So all in all, I hope we can at least prevent these cases from happening again.
Thank you very much for your time and your contribution.

So I'll share two stories here for now...
CategoryData Entry (Home Base Jobs)
InformationData Entry ScamsCategoryPhone Stolen During Business Meeting with Clients in KLCC
Information*Taken from email forwarded by Miss Lee*
It happen on 7 September 2005, a guy with the name "Mr. Lui" called my office in the afternoon and claims that he knows our director and spoke to her before this. He insists that his director is interested to buy our software and want to have a meeting at KLCC on that day itself. They are from Singapore and will fly back after today. When I tell him I will bring my colleague along to the meeting, he stated that he only reserve four seats in the coffee shop for his boss, himself, his wife and me, ask me to come alone for a short discussion. Well, he asked me to bring along my software catalogue and wait him in front of Giordano, KLCC at 2:30pm. I rush down to KLCC and called him when I reached Giordano. He made me wait a while and then requested for me to go Isetan, Estee Lauder counter, his wife is buying something over there. Again, I went to Estee Lauder counter. Later, Mr. Lui came and approach me alone without his wife and boss around. After we met up, he was telling me about our boss and he knew our boss is not in the country and ask me to send his regards. He sounds like he knew my boss very well, so i didn't actually suspect anything.
He then brought me to Shrooms café shop and we ordered drinks. Then I asked him where is his wife and his boss, he said they are still shopping and will join us later. When we are about to start our conversation, a lady called to my mobile phone and said that she is Mrs. Lui and she can't contact her husband, asking me whether I'm with him and wanted to talk to him. Then I passed the phone to Mr. Lui, he told me that his wife was lost in KLCC and his phone is out of battery. He needs to find his wife somewhere in KLCC, then he carry my mobile phone to find his wife. He left his bag and an envelope on the table and will be back in 5 minutes time. I wait there for about 30 minutes and he didn't turn up after that. Things didn't seem right and I was worried. I got help from the waiter at Shrooms café to ring my phone but my phone was OFF! I then brought his bag and the envelope he left on the table and have to even pay for the bill.
I suspect he is a thief and worry he will do something else with my phone. I went to report to KLCC security guard and they seem helpless more so hopeless. I am so disappointed and have to call to block my phone line immediately. When I opened the envelope, it is just another empty envelope in it and the bag contains a stone wrap with newspapers. In fact, the bag is padlocked that I can't open immediately in the coffee shop. Everything is planned, and he has done research on company background before he approached the victim. I was so sad that I was conned. Thank god, I just lost my mobile phone but all my contacts are in the phone, so I don't know who is next. Anyhow I have lodged a police report. PLS PASS THIS MESSAGE TO EVERYONE IN YOUR LIST. THIS IS NOT A JOKE. There are still a lot of victims out there. Pls be extra careful especially those who have to meet customer. DON'T BORROW YOUR MOBILE PHONE TO ANYONE! Below is the photo of the bag & the envelope the thief left. Notice that the bag is padlocked so that you can't open it on the spot.

CategoryHome Typist Job/Home Based Job
InformationMost of us here in LYN would have come across such jobs "Home Typist", "Part time jobs, home typist" and "Work from home" jobs ...
Well, I for one, believe all of these are crap ... I'm not referring to freelancers doing web design in SOHO style, but I'm directly referring to those who are "offering" such job such as home typist, surf for us, data entry for us and etc jobs ...
There are a few reasons I am saying these are potential scam ... If you happen to spot any one of this reason, then you should be on the look out ..
1) You don't need to pay anyone anything to start working with them, hey, they are employing you, so YOU should be paid ... Not the other way round
2) You just need to send them an email saying "Hey, I'm kinda interested, can I have more details?" Then immediately, you'll get the email saying, "Congrats, you have been choosen to xxxx" ... If you ever been to an interview, even for a waiter, do you seriouly think that you can get such jobs so easily just by few liners? No interview? No nothing?
3) Money is indeed tempting, but look at this ... If I am doing business and my business is surviving, will I be paying someone RM1000+ weekly/monthly to do surfing, data entry, typiing and etc jobs for me ... ? The right minded person would have paid RM800 for a clerk to SIT at the office and do all the jobs ... They told you they are outsourcing from foreign companies ... Haha ... Joke again ... Giving a 3rd party information that are related to a business is a no-no, the right minded business person will try their best not to disclose any information of their business ...
4) Last but not least, just to provide people here some hints, home based jobs, if they are related to typist, surfing the internet and other easy jobs .. I can assure you 90% and above are frauds and scam ... the rest would pay you very lowly, perhaps RM50+ or so for tons of work (not typist job though, it's for keying in balance sheet, translaating and proof reading and so on and so forth)...
Please be aware that money is everywhere and not hard to find, but in the same time, there's no "easy" money in this world ... You gotta fork out the same amount of effort for the same or less amount of money

Here's some site to refer to as this scam is pretty famous in LYN ...

The phone number you provided is the SAME with the phone number provided by the famous pay me RM380 to work Dr. Lim ... And there's already discussion about that Dr. Lim is fraudalent ...
What I am trying to state here is, your post is highly similar to all other post found above, including email and phone number..
Besides, a PO box address doesn't prove anything ...
Lastly, RM1000+ weekly potential income (found in all of the site) are basically impossible based on the job scope ... If this is real, many would have already quite their current RM2000 paying job and join this job instead ...

IT Trainee, Management Trainee, IT Exec, Sales Exec
Information
There's a few companies out there trying to woo fresh grads to work for them through misleading titles. Among them were Cobra Int located in Taman Tun Dr.Ismail, on top of the Pizza Hut and Elegant Promanade, situated in PJ industrial area.
To those who seeks a genuine IT job and not sales i recommend not to go for both of these company for interview, it's complete waste of time.
Cobra Int. I've did my homework 1 night b4 the interview about their line of field, their place looks professionally done. Interview was done professionally until they ask if we could start work from the sales level nothing to do with IT. Further enquiry reveals I would have to go out and sell stuff. Ohh yeah i went for the interview for the job IT trainee.
Elegant Promanade. Nothing to research on it as i saw the adverstisment on The Star stating it;s 'F&B company seeking IT Exec, Management Trainee'. I was put for interview at 9am. So went there at 8.30am saw there were 30+ people lining up at the front door. Went inside took a form and filled it up. Talked with few people around me while waiting. It was my turn, went to a meeting room. Asked the usual question until they talk bout they not seeking IT personnel but IT people because IT people got more confidence. Okay i start to feel suspicious, so i asked if i'm not working as IT exec as advertised on the newspaper what am i suppose to work as? They told me working as Sales Executive selling their main product, bakery, they told me transportatin would be provided(remember those people who walks to those premises giving out cake brochures, then walk towards you later in 10min asking if you wanna buy cake that's the job) I just walked off 1/2 way of conversation. Even more ironic is the guy whom interviewed me called me back the next morning say i can start work immediately.

Elegant Promanade is a reall piece of s**t. Me and my friend also went for the interview stated as IT Trainee. But during the interview, the manager asked me that they need all rounders and not only IT people. She said that we need to be able to learn HR, Logistics, Warehousing and didnt even mention the word IT Trainee. That was a complete waste of time....
Remember this, if you cant meet the people face-to-face, then its a complete piece of bullsh*t. Dr. Lim Assh**e is a complete bast**d. Dont ever trust this. Be professional. Even if the company ask you to pay, its ok if you know the office and also if the money is little. They wont be so desperately ask you to pay money and join......Better be safe than sorry!!!!

do you think the job offers displayed in newspapers such as the star possible to be a fraud? Recently I found out about this company paying high for assembling toys in which you have to pay RM85 in advance for postage and handling fees.. So what do you have to say about this?

i worked for elegant promenade for 2 days as i didn't have anything to do at that time and i wanted to see their operations though my mum already told me about it...
It was very funny and a great experience i must say.
first and foremost, the 2 fella's whom interviewed me were total idiots...1 guy and the other a lady...
i mean i give them total credit, they can BS to totally brainwash their "employees" there..
imagine this, i was with this guy so called my supervisor.
the first day i worked with him, i can see he's very motivated to the job...he kept on saying that the job is very good blah blah blah...he even sacrificed for his good pay permanent job for EP.
And the next day, (I didn't want to go already) i followed him to KLANG!!! and walked from 1 factory to the other for 2 rounds. 1st round to pass them the paper. 2nd round to ask agian n give them the products. and it was hot like hell and i was wearing leather shoes, imagine the heat i tormented from the leather..then i told him i will quit tmr...then ask him to tell the boss some things lar...then he say cannot, i cnanot tell him that, he'll know i'm lying...my god...he's 25 yrs old and he thinks like a 15 yrs old..he thinks the boss is a mind reader...
one more thing that i really think it's funny, every morning b4 there start work, there'll all gather in a room, a leader will lead the gathering..saying lots of BS, trying to convince the newbies to work harder...then some ppl will be asked to come out and share their experience..then there also have their motto which i can't remember...
anyway, recently heard that my "leader" has quarreled with the boss coz he's still at the same post after so many months...which the boss assured everyone that they'll get the highest post in less then a yr depending on performance.
i saw the boss driving the latest Toyota camry if not mistaken that day...he was fetching another guy to sell the product at night around 10pm.
I was speechless..haha...

Personally, I would avoid high paying but simple job ... Just like the data entry job ... Besides, any job that requires me to pay them instead of them paying me, smells fishy and you ought to be more careful

*I believe some jobs on the newspaper have the potential to be fraud as most of the time, newspaper just act as a middle person for advertisement

Please be aware of an online job offering (work at home-typist/clerk/secretary/supervisor/marketer/manager). You can see many this kind of job offering from some forum , free classified website and even JOBSTREET!
It's totally scam. You will require to pay an initial deposit as much as $100 (RM380) to start the "job".And the so call "doctor" will promise to pay you back when your pay reach $100. My friend have joined for a couple of month and the job is just post the advertisement on the forum or email to attract innocense people just like you and me to join this program (its totally non productive and doesn't have any products or services provided). When he reach the $100 target, he claim for the pay but he was totally frustrated and angry with the "doctor". That person email and ask my friend many stupid and irrelevant question to delay (totally don't want to pay).My friend have replied him a few hundred of emails and finally he gave up. Now he lose his $100 deposit.
And also please becareful if you're looking for online jobs. Many "typist" that need deposit or initial start up cost ($300-$500 per week) is just want you to buy the "training material" that you must resell to others just like what he's selling to you.
Lastly my advise to you all is don't simply trust those website that sold you unknown products like some "success recipe". What they sell you is just want you to follow their step to cheat others with your own website...
ps: to moderator, if you feel this message containing any information that should be removed, please do so but please don't totally remove it. I really hope this post will be useful to others.

Alright since someone posted this and I want to tumpang thread
Yesterday a gal knocking at my door.
At first she says she would like to do a survey. OK ask around 5 question. Whaat I can remember is something like this.
1. Which is the nearest giant retail u visit.? Giant , Tesco and etc
2. Where is it
3. What u buy during the visit
4. How much u spent
5. Use credit card or cash
and bla bla bla
This is the only warming up stage. Then they start to lure you out of the door by asking....Do u mind to write down your name , i/c and address for the survey?
The tricky one comes later. After that she says you are entitle to get a coupon for the survey. So she lure you again for writing your name, i/c and phone number on the coupon.
After that u open the coupon , tadaaaaaaaaa... she will uses a very excited tone to tell u.....Mr Mr u wont a bla bla bla and its free...please borrow me your phone and want to call this dude donno Allan what , cant remember his name to come and bring u and explain you about the price....I said bullshit.....who said is free, Where is your company, I am going to report to the police and the press. since you said is free you take it lar and leave me alone.
The procedure after that i donno lar...i just call her to get lost.

Way back when I was in college I was scouting for some part time job, I still remember those Forex and Index company. Guess what. They provide you training and gif u so call training reading market forex/indices from the computer. They will present you a company profile which have paid up capital of 1M GBP + 1M USD. They try hard to lure you or your family member to join. They will try to ask you to join by asking money from your family members
After you put in your money and wait a few month the company will disappear to other business area and start a new office with the same modus operandi

i also think that some recruitment companies are posting false advertisement in the newspaper.
Job: recruitment consultant
Requirements: minimum 2 years experience in any field. (fresh grads are encourage)
i noticed that the advertisement has been on the paper every saturday for at least 5 months. it seems to me that these companies are actually collecting the resumes they receive as their potential candidates for their client. well, fine if somebody willing to find a job for you, but just imagine your resume end up in the wrong hands.

I've also been duped by these companies before (I applied for the job at JobStreet about five months ago). I was asked to go with my supervisor to these shopping malls and sell cookies and stuff. And they also keep yelling this "JUICE" bull crap. I left the company after only one day.
About a week ago I went for an interview for Management Trainee. I saw the advertistment in The Star newspaper. The job description stated that the person will handle daily office operation and is responsible for various departments such as Admin and Operation.
I noticed the advertistment has already been in The Star for at least six months but since I was desperate for a job I went and try it out anyway. It was located in Jalan Ipoh which is quite far away from where I'm staying in Bandar Sunway. Anyway, once I reached there I noticed the office was pretty neat and comfortable. Looked like a great place to work. I was surprised that I was the only one there. Usually walk-in interviews has many other people queuing up to be interviewed. Maybe because the place isn't very easy to reach/find.
So after I filled in the form I was called by the boss (or the person in charge) for the interview. In the beginning he ask the usual questions..."Tell me about yourself" blah blah blah. Then he asked if I'm interested in doing some outdoor sales. And I was like "WTF I don't remember the job description stating that I should do sales.". At this point I knew that it was yet another one of those companies trying to fool people to sell their stuffs. Then he mentioned other craps like I have to have good communication, team, and leadership skills if I go out to organize events. I thought this is suppose to be some indoor job and not going out to do events. When I asked if the job involves a lot of sales, he just replied..."A lot of people say that we cant make much profit doing sales. But thats not true!", and smiled. I smiled back and nod and act as if I'm interested. At the end he said that he'll call me if I'm short-listed.
After four hours his secretary called me and said that I was short-listed. And I was like "Whoa..that was quick.". She told me to come the next day at 8a.m until 5p.m and to bring along a bag and a note pad. That was exactly what I was told by the first company I got duped.
Its a good thing I checked this thread out because I later found out that its almost the same company you guys were mentioning.
Based on my experience I'd say don't apply for those jobs that has been advertised non-stop. That goes the same for advertistments that does not state the company's name.

omg .. u guys know about JUICE too ..
new member here ... a few weeks ago .. i saw this ad in the star saying they;re looking for management trainees and students or spm leavers are welcomed ..
actually i have seen that ad for quite sometime .. was getting desperate so decided 2 just call them
its called speed-up marketing .. and the way they operate is exactly the same as u guys mentioned about elegant promenade and all...
i went ther and filled up a form.. i waited for about 45-50 minutes outside coz the boss was interviewing a few other fellas who there b4 me... while waiting ther .. another 4-5 ppl came in 2 apply for the job ..
so cut the story short .. i met the boss ... he said this company is new.. its headquarter is in singapore ..we're a big company in singapore..we just decided 2 expand in m'sia.. then he asked me basic stuff like .. why do want this job .. u got any job experience .... then he got really serious and asked me .. are you willing 2 learn anot ? coz in this job .. we will teach u alot of things and train u as well .. we dun wan any half-hearted ppl .. then he said .. sometimes we will go outdoors .. its all part of training 2 make u an all-rounder ..stuff like dat. .
he then said .. i will fax ur application 2 singapore .. then they decide 2 take u in or not .. if they accept .. we will call u in the evening and u come for training n evaluation day 2mrwo morning .. then he asked me ...tell me .. why should i accept u .. i just gave him some lame stuff like ..coz i am versatile n willing 2 learn .. he then said ..ok ..tell u wat.. dun need fax 2 singapore.. i take u in now ..just come 2mrow morning ..
then the bloody hell ... next morning ..spent 2 hours in their mini and pathetic office (which onli has 1 receptionist counter, 1 photocopy machine , and only 1 computer in the entire office .. so much for a big company in singapore)
those 2 hours he and another boss taught me and another 2 new fellas how 2 sell things to ppl in public. .. guess wat they;re selling .. postcards for a charity home... 1 postcard for 10 bucks .. i felt sort of duped .. they started doing all their JUICE thingy .. then they said ther;s travelling opportunity 2 singapore .. so that day we worked around midvalley ... i felt pissed of course but hid it and acted positive in frotn of the bosses .. they sort of like me coz of that .. and started tellingme .. actually selling is onli a small part of htis job ..prolly 1% onli ..mainly about management .. u;ll learn more when we go singapore .. then at the end of the day .. they said they;ll bring me 2 singapore wit them ..they claim they already sent an earlier batch over ther a few days ago ... i said i;ll think about it ..
the next day .. didnt know wana go work anot .. but went in the end .. coz they said selling is onli 1% of the job ..i thought mebbe it was for a day or 2 onli lar .. but 2nd day .. stillt eh same thing ..ther were a few more new fellas ... then the 2 bosses started pestering me 2 go singapore wit them .. they said transportation n lodging provided .. ur salary will be around 300-400 sing per week .. then towards end of the day ..i asked them ..so in singapore wil it be like this also ? selling in public everydya ? he said yes.. but we;ll train u 2 be a pro ther ..and also great in management .. then i asked again .. since we;re goin singapore.. who will be left in the m'sia office ? they said it;ll be closed for a month ...i was like wtf ???? they told me the m'sia office just opened about 2 weeks onli .. they worked wit me for onli 1 day and they wana bring me 2 singapore wit them already ?? i started working on wednesday .. they say we;re all goin 2 singapore on sunday ... wtf man .... how can u bloody decide so freaking fast ?????
i waited till the end of the day and told them i can;t go .. my parents dun allow ... they started saying stuff like ..this is a very good opportunity .. u shouldn;t really let ur parents affect u so strongly .. i just acted blur and said ..if i can go i;ll come 2mrow .. then late that nite ..one of the bosses sms me some crazily long motivational msg .. then the next morning (friday) they called me ..asked me wher am i .. i said i can;t work liow .. then they keep saying stuff like .,. nvm nvm u come 2 the office first ..i wana talk 2 u for awhile .. i kept saying i'm not around ther ..no transport n crap lidat. .. he kept saying ..nvm nvm ..u just come first ..
then he paused a while n said ... u come collect ur payment. .. ( i was like ...WTF ??) using this cheap trick 2 pull me ther ..i said ..oh i collect later can ar ? ( coz i knew they will go outside 2 jual their stuff again later ..and only the receptionist will b ther) ..then the mothafu**a was lost of words and just said ..aiyah ..how can like dat lar u .. beginning say u wana work.. he haven;t finish his sentence suddenly he ended the call ...
dun ever get involved wit speed-up marketing ,... its in brickfields by the way ..

haha. reading this topic is fun, altho in reality, this cheating trend is worrying. it seems most of the forumers here kena tricked b4.
i too learned a lesson and has since stayed away from most all those easy works as advertised in newspaper. 1k/mth is tempting but the fishy smell is just too much to bear.
but i also almost kena b4. the comp was near KLCC, in some promenade office building just behind the OSK. i tagged along with a fren for the job of IT Researchers. the interview was conducted for both of us together and was confimed on da spot. told to return the next day and will be given 1 week training. until completion of training, no salary was to be given.
so the 'IT' job revolved around studying the fundamentals of sorts of equity market investment- those involved coffee bean, sugar and some other stuff. the training was fun but when the week ended, the supervisor did not mention anything about our completion of training, confirmation, or abt $$$. so, sensing sth amiss, i left at the end of the training week. my fren and acquaintances who stayed back later revealed that when they confronted the supervisor, were informed they each need to bring in RM10k (if i'm still remember it correctly) investment before rightfully deserved to be paid monthly salary.
this type of cheating was very hot back then in 1999. few of my frens also almost kena. this investment company thing was highlighted in newspapers as well.
but now i dunno if those are still active, but whenever u encounters adverts like below, beware!
job: it researcher/mgmt trainee/marketing executive/all kind of executive la..
xp: no need. freshies very welcomed to kena conned..

Can "illegal" commodity/forex investment company (not registered with Security Commission) could be considered as scam?
I've been working with such company for a few months in 2000 and witnessed so much money wasted by customers through the investment. Not due to fraud transaction but mainly to incompetence level of the traders/agents themselves.
Those kind of business start to vanish in 2001 due to Security Commissions start taking action.
Recently I heard this kind of companies risen up again. So whoever is seeking for job, I advise to stay away from this kind of company.

This was taken from the star online
Please stop donating to these people, if want to donate? then donate straight to the organization
PETALING JAYA: You donated RM1 for a bookmark that carried the National Kidney Foundation's (NKF) name, hoping that your contribution would make a difference to a renal patient.
But the truth is, only 10 sen of that ringgit went to the foundation's coffers.
The rest may have been split between the person who sold you the bookmark, his boss, and the company that produced the item.
Charity has become a business, and much of what people give may not end up where it should.
And this does not just stop with the selling of items such as bookmarks and greeting cards - it also involves the public's bank accounts, where up to 40% of what is deducted monthly as donations does not go to charity.
In the case of NKF, it had an arrangement with Montrans Connections Sdn Bhd whereby a small percentage of revenue from the sale of the company's products was channelled to the foundation.
Montrans Connections, a subsidiary of Montrans Holdings Sdn Bhd, hires people to sell items it makes to promote a certain organisation.
"Montrans approached us with the idea of giving us publicity and selling bookmarks, plastic fans and pens.
"From the 10 sen we receive for every bookmark sold, we got about RM8,000 a month. In the last 11 months, we received RM79,000," said an NKF official.
Checks by The Star with Montrans Connections employees revealed that they can make as much as RM100 a day in commission. Pens are sold at RM10 each and plastic fans, RM5.
NKF said the arrangement was good as it raised not just cash but also awareness of the foundation.
"The company has the manpower and the money to bear the initial costs of a project like this," said the official.
"If we do a similar project, what would happen to the people we employ when the project ends?"
The official said if the public were not comfortable with giving money this way, then they should refrain from doing so.
BUSINESS OF CHARITY: Aisah Ibrahim is one of those selling bookmarks at the KLCC LRT station.
However, the official added that people had complained to NKF after buying the items and the foundation has not renewed its contract with Montrans Connections, which expired on July 31, partly because of the public's reaction.
But NKF is still continuing with the direct-debit donor programme run by Sharity Greetings (M) Sdn Bhd, a local fund-raising company, together with Asian Support Direct (M) Sdn Bhd, which is owned by Appco Sdn Bhd.
Under such programmes, the foundation and at least four other groups - the National Cancer Council (Makna), World Wide Fund for Nature Malaysia (WWF Malaysia), Shelter Homes for Children and Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation - benefit from monthly deductions from bank accounts.
Makna fund-raising director Vemanna said the council had as many as 40,000 active contributors and donations came to about RM1mil every month.
Both Makna and WWF said they received the full amount deducted, and payments to the companies concerned - which have people on the ground actively soliciting donations - were made separately, but they declined to reveal the amounts paid.
However, the NKF official said 30% of deductions went to Asian Support Direct for overheads in the first four months of the programme, with another 10% to Sharity Greetings to maintain the database of donors.
For every month after that, Sharity Greetings receives 10% of the donors' contributions.
A Sharity Greetings official confirmed that the company received 10% of deductions from each of the groups it worked with. Asian Support Direct and Appco could not be reached for comment.
In addition to such programmes, Sharity Greetings also partners with Granton Sdn Bhd to produce festive season cards sold in the name of charity.
Granton and Appco are both part of the Cobra Group, a direct marketing company based in Britain and Australia.
Registrar of Societies (ROS) Kaswuri Keman said a registered society was not allowed to have any party collecting donations on its behalf.
The Societies Act 1966, he said, required any organisation registered under the Act to obtain approval from the Registrar to collect money from the public.
"Collections can be done only for the period approved," he added.

Good thread. very informative. i hv recently went to one of the interviews conducted by the cobra group subsidiaries near klcc...on purpose. After reading so many scam stories in this thread, i m lured to 'check out 'these kind of companies. another reason for me doing so was becoz i was demn bored waiting for my job to start with an oil & gas company. hehe

so, what i did was find any job ads in jobstreet that has the criterion of possible scammers mentioned in this thread. then, i sent my resume. and just my luck, i was called for their first interview. the first interview was so easy one. they just asked me to intro myself. and then filled in one questionnaire that bears questions such as why u want to take the job. btw, the job offered is for management trainee post.
after a few days, i was called for a second interview. since i got nothing to do that day so i agreed and came at 10am. while waiting for the 'interview' to start, they gave me some pamphlets. i was also told that this second interview will take 5 hours as we were going to be assigned to their sales team and do some work. i began to raise an eyebrow at the time.
i immediately shuffled through the pamphlets and handouts. and stiffled my laughter. there r misspellings and wrong formatting everywhere. surely good companies will not hv such mistakes in their documents, right? furthermore, i found out that the team was lead by a 21-year-old diploma holder, who named his team members with weird nicknames. and there they r, saying that they r conducting their business in professional manner. its pretty hard to buy that claim seeing that they hv a 21-year-old as a leader and all the employees have stupid nicknames which they printed on their brochures.
as i looked around at the anxious and hopeful faces of other candidates...i started 2 pity them. i wonder if these ppl know what they r about to get into. and as i read the handouts, i had a good guess on what we were going to do for 5 hours that day: selling credit cards. free labour for them, i suppose?
so, without further ado, i simply walked out of the office with the handouts still in my hands. i hv had enough information about this company. i hv scoured the information on this company through their website a few days earlier. with this secondary information that i obtained teamed up with my first hand experience, this company is not a working place as it describes in its adverts. unless u r really desperate for a job, then this company shud be avoided. but what saddened me most is how this company exploits fresh grads by luring them to do direct selling, disguising it as 'management trainee'. and for goodness sake, this company is included in the Graduan handbook sold nationwide. buy the 2005 edition, u'll find an article about it.
many of my frens r unemployed now. and i m lucky enuff to be employed after a mth of graduation. i hope those fresh grads out there to always be aware of these kind of company. if u know what u r getting into, its ok. thats y, b4 going to any interviews, make some research on the company first.

There is one more here...
The most funniest one is when I was looking for a job just after graduating from university. I just went KL to look for my UNI friends. Then dunno a friend which she did not contact me for years suddenly called me, says she would like to have lunch with me and fetch me to my destination. (P/S: I went KL by bus.) I totally happy about this idea cos it's a free trip anyway, I meeting friends was my objective going KL. After that, she asked whether I found any job and I told her I had some interviews pending for approval. She then called some of her "friends" to join us, and then starting to talk about she's doing a special: money earning business, which called: "network sales" blah blah blah... forget the specific term... Then she show me how she can own a kancil within 6 months, and then FORCEFULLY drive me to her company to brain wash me, with a lot of her seniors. (I don't want to reveal that company's name). They told me they can earn 100k per month if you're doing it right and why not join them right away. And yes, I forget to tell you, the entry require a membership fee of 3K!!! And they showed me A LOT (I dunno why there's so much people there talking) of dunno visitors or random guys doing their business.
What is worst, I was at her company at 3pm, when I went out there, it was 10pm. Why, because I said: "I WILL THINK ABOUT IT" to them when they ask me to join with a lot of crap. Wasting my whole day in her company... she still not give up and invite me to her company's talk in next day, paying the ticket fee somemore...
I slipped off the next day by following my friend to midvalley... lolz...

Vacancy! Vacancy? Vancancy!?
First of all i would like to apologize to those who is going to be mad because of what I am posting here. Well this is not job advertizing, rather it just some reminder so you won't be dissappointed of being cheated.
As I have promised to you guys earlier, I will tell you guys about some scam which I myself involved with. The only thing I will not tell you guys is my name, the company name, companies director and associates. For those people who are already being cheated by this company, gives this topic a reply and also tell others about this company.
Lets start with a little background of this company. The company name is **solution S.B, i told you i won't tell you guys it's name. It Director is En. Z, it's financial advisor is Pn. F and some "Datuk" also involved in this scam by the name of Datuk K (not the one which with Siti nurhaliza maa). These are the important person in this company, the others are non significant but also involve.
Companies business? Doing outsourcing for another outsourcing company...??? So you guys can get a clear picture by imagine this; An outsource company is hired by some big company to do a job which requires a lot of human resources. Some of the job scope, well mostly is involved with customer relation management, servicing contractor and also to find potential customer which the big companies find itself limited of doing it themselves. Actually the goverment has set up laws that protect an employee. Most of you do know about this right? So the point of the big company outsource to another company is to reduce overhead budget so to speak. They don't have to pay EPF, SOCSO, bonus and many other thing. So if 1 big company outsource it to a ****tech S.B and this ****tech S.B then outsource it again to **solution S.B, think how many that you will get?
An outsource companies still want to cover themselves with something like consultant company (please guys, don't buy it)

But in the end, it is where you put a stand in your belief. Because this company will do anything to get you, makes you believe in them.. Actually its not an employee that they want. How would you like to pay for a job that they can't even guaranteed that they will give it to you? Quite frankly, it's your money they're after, to jump start their own company. How do they do it? They will say all of the things you want to hear, basic salary in contract term and a job guaranteed after 3 month contract, insurance, training with LAN credit, Uniform, phone top-up and even phone. How pretty is that? The catch? Before some rattle caused by previous batch of people they hired before, to get the job you need to pay RM1500 for training they held for executive. At least RM750 must be cleared for you to start working(???). Well now they lower the rate so that it wouldn't be "burden" to you. But the RM1500 remain intact, only they varies the method of payment (they even make the installment plan and also loan from institution in the name of training certificate) according to their "taylor made" job depending on which payment you pay. (Money...money....moooneeey) They even make you sign a contract so that they can "slaughter" you in any case things go wrong. If you ever see how they run their mouth and how they make promise to make you sign the contract is amazing. If you can see that is, try to provoke them by waving some money in from of them and say "I have the money but do you have?" Their employee gains their wages through you, mind me. It's true!! it's true!! Nah maybe that way too much, but you can always open your mouth and ask them if you didn't sign the contract and pay the money can they give you the job? See what excuses they will give to you. if that didn't get thru, try ask them something which may raise the big question "why do we need to pay for the job that we can't choose and on top of that its just a plain sales promoter?". Remember that this job is an outsource job, suppose you should have some of the dough too, but if all you get is just a sliver of it then you better forget it.
Blu****ppo, that what you will promoting to the customer. The big company
which I mention is **net. Before, there were a bunch of people who got trapped in this scam, you see they are not going to brag about how people response to this program by saying there is a hundred people working now, there WAS a hundred people, but now there is nobody left. \
Some of the thing that I have encounter before regarding the contract:
1. Some of us which are the "early bird" has a few question were left unanswered regarding the contract term. it seem that the company didn't want to return the money paid to them although the contract hasn't been signed by the candidate brought by us.
2. Not to mention for candidate which has signed the contract. According to the term of the contract, Refund will be given based on the training they attended. Some of the candidate felt being cheated soon after they been told that they will be doing sales job rather than office job they promised and also there weren't any basic salary as promised. They want they money back considered the training hasn't started (some of them even borrow from someone and want to pay them back). You know what reason they give to the candidates? "some of the policy can be changed, even the government change their policy"
Now they're changing some of the term of the contract and want the candidate to see it's clearly stated in the contract. So what are they? The sales and marketing type of job is clearly stated in in the contract, so that nobody would complaint. Other significant change is No refund of money. Zero. Of course they stating about 3 month contract, salary (??), and insurance and all that stuff.
Some information about me in that particular company:
Actually I can tell you about my experience and why I am doing this. I am a recruiter and my job scope is to bring in possible candidate to sign-up for the program. Its not easy but I can get along with it, considering that the company didn't give anything (no basic salary) and didn't even give a damn how we do it. For the first month we recruiter are like struggling to bring in candidate and sign them up. Some of the recruiter a facing a delusional hope syndrome (haha) that is at end of month they gonna go for shopping spree. What they didn't know that this company is going to get a free work-donkey (not related to workhorse, and sorry for the made-up slang). So there we are, doing work for free. I manage to get thru with some other recruiter in the 1st month. But the real challenge was when the company (fellow director) just shoot the bullet to the candidate which attending the class (they told that not all of them would get the job after three month). Nearly half of the candidate was furious and demand the refund, because they want to quit. About 30 candidates were left from 68 people. the second month, most of the recruiters are already gain a steady flow of people coming in. the remaining 1st batch continued their program (because if their don't, their afraid of what written in the contract paper, that they will fined up to RM3000). By that time combined with newly registered candidates, a near 100 people were in the program. They hope to get a decent job "by paying hard earned money" once the training complete. Also in that 2nd month, I had brought in my relative which I felt that since they're not working, might as well bring them in. So I told my relative about how good this job would and I even guarantee it. So my relative attend the briefing felt a little uninterested but when I consult them, them agree to pay that day. I told them to read the term before signing up the contract, and guess what? There are too many uncertainties in the term, which they decide not to sign the contract and they want to withdraw their money. And that is reason why am I writing this article and why I am against that company policies.
Sorry for bad phrases and grammar error if it caused you guys hard to understand what I am saying here. If it related to this matter or you are one of those guys that we've cheated (hey we're just follow what our company told us), or have something to be mad about, drop or post something here okay?

Lets start with a little background of this company. The company name is **solution S.B, i told you i won't tell you guys it's name. It Director is En. Z, it's financial advisor is Pn. F and some "Datuk" also involved in this scam by the name of Datuk K (not the one which with Siti nurhaliza maa). These are the important person in this company, the others are non significant but also involve.
I belived this just came out in Harian Metro yesterday
Malaysia Boleh
I went to a 'company' at Wisma MCA which I dont know they really registered. I got an interview and I am confirmed to work at the end of the interview.
"Tomorrow will be your first day training! Wear something casual."
The root of thumb is easy. You need job. You need compensation(salary) equaly to what you work for the month. Why you need to pay them the employer instead of they pay them?
Another one I went back then 2 years ago at Wisma UDA beside BB plaza. My dream place to work at. Right at the heart of Golden Triangle. Take bus/LRT can reach there. But it's all shattered. Again a scam. Job title posted in The Star was IT Executive. Tried to ask the job scope and they said I need to attend the interview. As usual went there and they gave me a file which full of newspaper ads. They asked me to choose which ads I saw
I simply point 1 of it. Since already knew it was a scam, I want to see how far they go. Guess what, I waited there for 45 minutes before I can see the interviewer.
I thought only in sport you can see substitution. Interviewer substitute for another one and the second one hired me.
They told me the company background
"We are a 1 billion paid up capital company and just opened their business in Malaysia." Imagine a 1b company hired some lousy English speaker.
My best question to shut them down was
"Where are the computer and server room?" and the reply was "We already order the computer and server room. The supplier will send it tomorrow.
Since when we can order server room from a computer supplier/dealer.
