how come sometimes after i turn on ps2.....tv screen blank but got sound ??


tv has video 1,2,3 right cos my tv got 3 av holes....
i think....

then the front av holes is for video 3....
so whenever i turn on my TV....video 3 and then ps2...
if normal...the VIDEO 3 greeen words will "react" by "jumping up and down" after i turn on ps2 then got pic

sumtimes.......after i turn on ps2......the VIDEO 3 green words
doesnt "react" ......the words jus stay there.....but got the ps2 start up sound but no pic

how come?

hm..` this can be the Connection problem either the TV or the connection problem at the ps2 video cable.

or

one of your ps2 component chip might be dieing.

I also have the same problem on my PS1 and PS2
i just use something to clip on the yellow cable and can see already..but sometimes it can be frustrating..sometimes when im playin a game and enjoying the CG,*dup* blank screen+sound

so confirm is connection Problem between the TV and the cables?

but maybe is the tv's problem also since both my PS1 and PS2 use the same tv and same problem..

well , i have been a while no suft for Console couch -sony title ,
so i have no notice this NEW TOPIC

and i have such problem as below ,

today after i play games for about 3 hours ,
i open and take out the games disc ,
but when i click again for ps2-rom close ,but it is fail to close ,
i try to use my hand to paksa the ps2-rom close , baru can work !

i wonder if my ps2 -rom got any problem already ? got any solution ?

this is my problem.
i use ps2 39006series...cannot play ps2 games, is it coz of the malfunction or modchip or my ps2 is the old model that cannot play dvd9??

Is your PS2 can't play all the games or only DVD9 games? Here is what you can do to know wether you have laser problem or modchip problem.

1. Put in an audio cd (pressed or cdr disc). If all of the songs can be played then your CD diode is ok.

2. Put in a DVD movie (pressed or DVDR). If the movie plays well then your DVD diode is ok.

Conclusion, your laser is still ok.

If both step 1 & step 2 or either steps fail then it is confirm that you laser is gone.

3. Both step 1 & step 2 are ok but still can't boot any PS2 games (you got Red Screen Of Death), you might have a dead modchip or any of the modchip wires loose.

one more weird about my ps2 is so far i can play any ps2 games
but except ffx-2 .
this make me so mad somehow , since one of my reasons to buy ps2 is play ff series games mar !

just a tip here, if u guys got problem booting certain games, take out both the memory card and controller from its port and then try boot the game.

sniper.........can u xplain to me changing power supply board from a jap ps2 to wat?

everything ok...only dvd9 games cannot play..dunno why..lens no problem coz never experience any unbootable disc except for dvd9 games..

for those who cannot boot the games, try to put ur ps2 vertically..dunno how it work but really work on my previous ps2 and psx..i curently using 2nd ps2 coz of lens problem

okay its like this.

if u use jap or PAL ps2, u dont have to use the adaptor. if u go to a shop, they will simply chage the powersupply board to a jap or pal one, i asked them and its about rm80-90.i f u have spare broken ps2, pal or jap, u can chagne it. take the ps2 apart and simply plug out the powersupply board and change it. correct me tot

one more thing that i must ask........ why certain tv .... i can see colour of the games when ps2 is on......an other tv shows black n white......? .........there is one tv at home.........it doesnt even show anything........ ....but when switching on a vcd player it can....see movies (just to compare)

look at it. i bet u have the NTSC U/C at the back. u need to find NTSC/J or PAL.

regarding that tv thing..its the tv itself. set the color system to auto.

yeahhh....mine is NTSC U/C ...... so when i go to shop....i should ask for a jap/PAL pwr supply board, right?

Be caution...powerboard for v4-v8 models are not compatible with v9-v11 powerboards.

note :
v4=3000x
v5/v6=3000xR
v7/v8=3900x
v9/v10=5000x

of cuz i ald try other ffx-2 disc!but the result still same!
i also no stupid with make conclusion without test other disc!

so you try all other games work without problem ? only on FFX-2 ?

erm, this is the third time i have seen scuh prob with ffx2..dunno why..

I'm guessing is either they all have the same modchip that can't support ffx2.

a friend of mine had the same prob..he he tried the scotch tape method..sumtime can..sumtime cannot.

Very not nice to buy a PS2 model that only allows you to play for approx. 5 hours each time... especially when friends come over... usually ppl play all night long wan.

That laser Djinn is the worst among the PS2 slim laser.It's called SPU-3170. The best is the KHM-430 then PVR802W.
