There are slots though i have yet to open them. But i think its only tone/vol knobs slots thingy n the trem springs but no small batt slots. but ill check more later
*

the tone/vol knobs slot usually can fit in the battery/ies. smile.gif
blacktrix
What Xynobys says..... My battery compartment is together with my tone/vol and output jack compartment.
xnobys
^ when i changed the pu on my samick, i also thought that they going to make a new compartment/hole at the back of my guitar.

and just like u blacktrix, the uneducated so-called guitar tech at bentley placed the 81/85 wrongly. and they charged RM100 for installation summore...
CountPuchi
Ooo its there, thx for the info guys hehe..
blacktrix
Hahahaha..... so it's a common mistake after all!!!!! Make sure you fire them back nicely next time!!!!
Everdying
its not a common mistake if they bother to RTFM.
one is gold, one is silver, what so hard about that? tongue.gif

now my EMG60A and 85 have about the same font color.
CountPuchi
so how long can that 9v battery hold if i play continously for 1 day?
Everdying
if you play roughly 2-3hrs a day, the batt can last anywhere from 6-9 months.
provided of cos you use a good brand like duracell and not some stupid brand like national.
soulfly
was thinking of having Seymour Duncan JB for my GRG150 bridge pickup

body is basswood. any opinion?

place 81/85 wrongly?

both pickups r suitable for both bridge and neck.
it's all depend on ur own choice.
did u tell them what setup u want?

yup. specifically mentioned that i wanted 81 bridge and 85 neck.
had some fun experimenting with the sound before i swapped it myself to my preferred setup.
now looking for 60 for more fun rclxms.gif

can anybody here tell me the different in terms of sound characteristic between dimarzio breed and evolution? hmm.gif
Equilibrium777
DiMarzio Breed's characteristics is that it has boosted low and mids as opposed to the Evo which is more well rounded.

The Breed has an EQ chart of 5/9/8
The Evo has an EQ chart of a 6.5/7/6

If you like chunky Power Chords and fat low ends then the breed should be better. But technically it depends on where you put the pickup. Bridge or Neck?

By the way has anyway tried our local DiMarzio Dealer La Floresta?

What you guys think of them.. Honestly?
RustReaver4D1
Err... where's La Floresta?

La Floresta is in Shah Alam and from what I know they are somehow the sole distributor for DiMarzio puppies but the prices there is probably about the same or a bit lesser than Woh Fatt ...about RM400-ish i reckon sweat.gif

You can try gain10music.com instead. It ain't that hard. You won't save much though...a standard humbucker pickup + shipping would cost around RM320-ish.

More money for your Krank Krankenstein fund ok! rclxms.gif

Equilibrium777
No 7 string pups =.=

And La Floresta are run by ****************!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They dare call me up and say no such thing as a D-Sonic Pickup. . . =.=

I was like o.O

ok, ok... my apologies, I forgot you mentioned La Floresta sometime in the months that have passed. I've been busy with other thingsssss... notworthy.gif

Gee, DiMarzio makes puppies? Does that mean if I get a single-coil DiMarzio, it'll grow up to be an X2N-7? tongue.gif

And screw the Krankenstein, you and I know it's all about the GT into Laney Hardcore Max 4x12 cabinets, ok! rclxms.gif <insert outrageous bass response here>
Equilibrium777
I wish pups can grow. . . I don't mind the wait. . . xD

gain10music.com got no D-Sonic 7 and no AirNorton7 =(
supercolossal
Anybody used Dimarzio's FRED before? Can I have some reviews?
echobrainproject
what should the rough price of gibson burstbucker pro in msia? (no, not woh fatts crazy price).
Everdying
if not woh fatt then who else?
i dont recall ever seeing any other shops carrying gibson pickups.
echobrainproject
no i might get a shop to specially bring it in. wanted to know the price first. if they bring in then i cant afford or offers me too high of a price then i wont get it.
sean392
how bout shops in sg??
Everdying
shops in SG apparently dont stock it.

musiciansfriend sells it for USD130, current rate is RM455.
go for it! tongue.gif
echobrainproject
thanks. lets see how things goes.

Everdying
i rather go get it from woh fatt and pay about RM50 extra.
shipping with insurance would probably come up to around that, providing it doesnt get taxed by customs.
blackangel
echo..im not too sure..my guitar lesson shop there selling it about rm580 before discount(i guess very little)..but its 57 classic..maybe slightly diff...to sum up..u wont get cheap things from gibson...
mumeichan
Roughly, How much do shop charge to install pickups?
blacktrix
Usually, it's 50 per pickup..... i've asked around Bents, Guitar Collection and The Guitar Store.......
zivkong
argh talking about electric guitar ...

i had my 1st electric guitar 2 years ago and it was S-S-S ... a lot of problem .. humming and blah blah blah ... i don't think i will touch electric in short period ... stick with my acoustic hahaha
SHOfrE3zE
i'll be changing my guitar pups to SH-2 (neck) & SH-4 (bridge) this week.. i wonder if this is the best coz i think it's a common favourite SD combo rite?

bents carry them at 380 each
out of stock now i think

lol
biggie slash fan eh?
same here
u shud have bought a plain top cherry sunburst standard
rather than a custom whistling.gif

lol
blacktrix
I know you may not like it, but to me, that Custom will sound SWEET with EMG Actives inside.....
Either the Zakk Wylde route of a 81/85, or the Hetfield 81/60 combo.....

Either way, EMGs will SCREAM on that bad boy.
Everdying
or a 85/60A combo like me tongue.gif

Ahh thanks, so i'll ask my parents to bring them back for me tongue.gif
Err to be honest, before i bought my Epi, i was sort of reserving that standard for the real deal Gibson, but at the moment since i owned my Epi, i have second thoughts, i might as well get a better tube amp.

Heard EMGs before, sound err too ganas for me, dont have the balls to handle them tongue.gif
To my ears they sound more towards metal while Slash sounds more towards classic rock, abit gentle

Havent heard of that combo personally, perhaps some sound clips please?
Everdying
85 is like the 81, almost same output.
but slightly warmer with less pierching highs.

60A is the perfect neck pickup tongue.gif

Yeah, i'll buy a Gibby one day, not now tho or at least when my guitar collections could rival either Blacktrix or Everdying tongue.gif

IMO, its better if i post it here rather than via pm, so that those who wish to buy from Ishibashi could refer to this post rclxms.gif

Those are in Japanese Yen and before Malaysian Custom tax (in my case they taxed me 10%), if you want to convert to Myr click here

Click here if you want to browse Ishibashi's webshop

Note down the type/brand/model no and then email ishibashi to ask for availability, once they confirmed its available, its your call to purchase or not, if you decide to purchase, they'll email you a secure link to enter your credit card details, alternatively you can do a telegraphic transfer (TT) but it attracts an additional charge of about RM20 and its slower to process =)

If you are confuse with Ishibashi's webshop layout, i'll do a print screen for your convenience later tongue.gif

Oh thats simple, they put your guitar into your guitar bag, get a box with at least 3-4 inch of bubble wrap around your guitar

You are correct the techra is the guitar case, but funny tho it isnt on the website any more tongue.gif
I need the case its because i'll be bringing my guitar overseas to where i work, to give my guitar some protection as i am sure those MOFOs wont allow me to bring my guitar onboard

so lets see.
those MOFOS wont let you bring the guitar onboard, so you get a hard case.

yet you dont mind a guitar bag with 3-4 inch bubble wrap to protect it in cargo?

Thanks a lot for posting this. Clears a lot of confusion.

But I have a question. According to this page an LP Custom costs 47775, how come your's is 71250?
Edit: Nevermind, my mistake...your's is the Japan-made LQ instead of the normal one.

BTW, there's a thread on ishibashi on jamtank

Nah, mine came with hardcase, when i bought them from Ishibashi, they put my guitar into the hardcase instead of the gig bag with 3-4inch of bubble wrap all around it.
When i go oversea, i'll do the same as well, imo quite good protection

Please transfer your conversations about guitars on the Guitar Phreaks thread.......
Keep this to the Pickups topic ONLY.......
First Warning.....
Equilibrium777

blacktrix
Does anybody know how much a Seymour Duncan LW-HMET livewire metal in White or a Duncan Distortion in White pickup would cost?
Don't mind heading down to Singapore for that also.....
