Step 1.
Find the picture or pictures that you want to share with the forum. You may have found pictures surfing the web or you may have created some pictures by scanning something. SAVE THE PICTURES TO YOUR COMPUTER.
A word about picture formats. The preferred format for pictures is JPEG and PNG formats. GIFs will only be used if you have an animated one.
This image that will be used as example throughout this tutorial.

The original of this image is 1280 x 1024 pixels with a file size of 318KB
Step 2.
Select your image hosting service and upload your images to them. The image hosting service will provide the code that will be needed for posting the thumbnailed pictures on the forum.
A picture host must offer a link to a clickable thumbnail to be useful to you here.
The two most commonly used image hosting sites are:
ImageShack and ImageVenue
ImageShack allows all the common picture file types to be uploaded and has a limit on file size of 1024KB. You can upload pictures one at a time at no charge and no registration is required. If you want to upload more than 1 picture at a time you will need to register and purchase credits. Upload is by zip folder and the zip is limited to 5MB.
This is sample of the code link page that is returned by ImageShack.

This is what the thumbnail looks like when hosted on ImageShack.

Step 3.
Copy and paste the preformatted code provided by the hosting site into the space for your post message. It is not necessary to use any other tags. Simply copy and paste.
Please read the code link page and use the correct line as identified by the hosting site. This shows the correct ones from ImageShack.

Some tips on making your post look good.
After you have pasted a line of code for your picture hit the space bar before you paste the next line of code. Then you will have your pictures tiled horizontily so people won't have to scroll up and down. If you have lots of pictures group them in groups of 5 or 6 by hitting the enter key between groups. Make sure you look carefully at the preview of your post before submitting it to make sure it looks good and all your link are loading.
Once you have done it a couple of times it becomes simple.
