safety is not an issue if u do it in bios or eztune... both ways are okay.... just make sure the setting that u set using eztune is permanent even though after u restart... but afaik tweaking using bios will confirm permanent but sometimes if i crash too many times the bios will go back to default...

Guys,
Question, Does Gigabyte mobo (especially P35 series) has incompability issue with Crucial Ballistix Ram?
Since I got Random BSOD with the same setting... after a while using this Crucial Ballistix, eventhough previously the Corsair XMS2 did not have..
PS: Unfortunately Corsair can't really oc high.. unlike Ballistix (u gotta love them..)

i had both ballistix tracer n non-tracer pc2-6400 with my previous p35-ds3 n i can hit past 1000mhz 5-5-5-15 @1.9v stable with the non-tracer ones
but the tracer ones need 2.2v to get past 950mhz 5-5-5-15 though

i suspected the instability is due to the hotness of tracer...but i am not really sure on this...
maybe u can ask shawty?

I have used Gigabyte P35-DS3 (rev 1.0 and 2.0) and DFI blood Iron P35 without any problems. Either with the crucial ballistix or crucial 10th anni....
Try using just one stick and see whether the problem still persist.... it could be a defective ram module...

Ok HEre's the story..
I bought 4x1Gb Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC8500 from LYN forumer, then after a while,( Less than 2 weeks).. The comp refuses to Boot,
Found out 1 piece Rosak and have to RMA .. so Send to SHawty... And after that I bought the 2x2gb PC6400 normal Crucial Ballistix..since thinking to upgrade to 8gb...
And it was running normal..... UNTIL.... i changed my Casing.. from iCute to CM690.... I didn't take out the proc nor the Ram....
Then ... it happens... Random BSOD with the same Setting as before....
When i Did Stress test using Orhtos.... 2 hours was normal... but then when I start doing browsing, listen to winamp.... or even open normal spreadsheet.. the Its happen.... BSOD...
when reading from the net.. some ppl having problem with DS3L and Ballistix...
BTW I've run it on 1066 Mhz now with 2.1v dimm and 5-5-5-15 so far so good, 3 hours... (exception the Proc not overclocked)

Hi....need some help here for any1 with similar hardware or just knowing whats going on

Went over to a friends house and tried oc-ing his rig. Specs as follows
Intel C2D E4400 L2 stepping @2Ghz with stock cooler
Gigabyte 965P DS3
2x1GB Kingston DDR2 667 value ram
Just decided to try a safe oc so left everything at default, let the bios decide on voltages, raised the fsb to 266(266x10=2.66ghz) and dropped the memory multiplier so that the ram runs at around DDR700. Everything loaded fine into windows and the bios set the core voltage at a rather high 1.4v

Ran orthos blend test and it failed after 35 mins. Temps were quite high though reaching around 75C. Ok, went back to bios, and this time tried going for lower, this time 2.5ghz(FSB250). Reduced voltages also to 1.36v(1.32 after vdroop). This time orthos failed after 10 mins. Temps were still around 70C. So am wondering whats the prob. Is there anything wrong with my settings? Or proc is a total dud? Or the temps are too high? Any help will be apreciated

Do with stock vcore first and do 266x8,see does it work

Then 266x9,and up to 333x9,try it step by step and use as minimum vcore as possible

Hi All, I am currently running my E8400 + Gigabyte P35-DS3 at 3.6GHz (400*9). Vcore has been raised to 1.28V in BIOS (shown 1.248V in CPU-Z). The system run stably without any error with Max temperature at 65 deg C.
However when I tried to increase FSB to 420MHz, it started to show error in Orthos. Even after increasing VCore to 1.325V in BIOS, the same thing happen. It will halt after running Orthos for 10 min.
What's the possible culprit behind this? Is it because of the RAM? I tried to adjust the RAM Voltage by +0.1V in BIOS but to no avail.
BTW FSB:DRAM is at 1:1.
Any input is highly appreciated. Thanks.
