If you're stressing the proc, make sure you use the "Small FFT - stress CPU" option rather than the "Blend test" in orthos.
That's a nice OC.... last time, my E6750 was running 24/7 @ 3.5Ghz @ 1.425v (set in Bios)....

(Not a gem proc....)
yup2.. i did that to at first but forgot to take pic.. anyways the result was 60c average.. huhuhu quite high

Unless you are using applications that loads your CPU 100% all the time, that temperature is ok....
For normal usage, the core temperature will probably seldom reach that high....

Guys, I'm in need of some help here. My Q6600 on stock cooling on EP35C-DS3R achieve around 48'C at idle at 65'C at load under Prime95 at stock speed. I'm thinking that it's too hot.... Is it? How can I improve the situatioN? I'm still waiting for my cpu cooler to arrive maybe in a week time.... I dun even dare to OC seeing such condition.... Is there any possiblity that I'm not mounting the stock fan correctly? I had some difficulties mounting the stock fan and I remount it after clipping it to the place.... I remove the whole stock fan and put it back... Will this be a problem? Btw I'm using Lian-Li PC007 and i had those temperatures with my side panel opened

frankly speaking, we as normal/power users don't need an excessive overclocks. my 965P-DS3 died on me in 1 year after running 3.2GHz 24/7.

so test ur limits only to see what ur cpu is capable of. my limit was 3.4GHz (on 965P-DS3). Never tried much on my P35 cuz im planning on stickin more time with it.

i think for most users will be happy for 3.2GHz for all day long (as i do video/audio encoding/dvd ripping) so i need the raw speed of dual core systems. (Quads are better of course!)
with my current p35-DS3 rev 2.1, currently running quite happily as the technology improvement in gigabyte mobos. it ran cooler and reliably so far even at high FSB. (requires only minimal voltage increase @ 1.8ghz fsb)
with proper cooling on ur cpus, good mobo tweaking, u can go further.
so good luck!

Hai...I'm a beginner attempting to overclock my E6300...
But, I'm quite confuse and also disappointed with my current result as u can see on my attachment.
The problem is I need to increase my vcore to 1.344v. But, u guys just maintain at 1.21v n even got much more higher result. Also, my idle temperature also very high.I dont know the real problem is.
May u guys suggest me what should I do to reach higher result than my current result.
Currently this is my spec:
Mobo: Gigabyte 965P DS3
Ram: Corsair XMS2 1GB x 2
PSU: Acbel 450W
CPU cooler: Scythe Ninja Rev.B

oh...is it edi a good result? But, as u can see on my attachment, the
vcore is very high i think. 1.34V and my idle temperature already around 60~70.
what do u think is the problem there?is it my Ram or my mobo or my proc itself?

That could be because it is corrupted due to previous unstable overclock. It could also be because your current overclock is unstable.....

Well you havta increase your vdimm up a notch and looser timings...CL5
But bro its better you use 1:1 to check your proc OC capabilities 1st then the rams..
2.9 on stock vcore and cooling is a good start...

ok, i'll try finding the max of my proc on stock. btw the ram is currently at 5,5,5,15 wif 2.2vdimm. wif 2.3vdimm can do 4,4,4,15. both on ddr950@466mhz. anything above this setting will give memtest error. however except for those timing i set manually, other option i set auto. mybe anyone can give guide? my mobo abit IP35-E. tq
p/s: 3gig wif slight increment achive!

however the ram

can't reach drr900. if not 3g wif ddr900 for daily used will be d greatest thing happened to my life

Yup. Like tkh_1001 said, the startup problem of easytune5 is probably due to software bug. I too have the same problems on startup.
The sudden closing of a program, however, is usually due to unstable overclock. It could be any programs, like orthos, prime95, superPI, etc (while you were stressing your rig......)

no harm tweaking using eztune provided it is functional well n giving response to what u set .. i find it very useful for me last time on my ds3... until i got this DFI that don have any fsb nor vdimm/vcore tweaking in window

but the bios tweaking options for dfi is great though
