last time, me oso 1 of CM 550W PSU user

never caught into problem until i get rid of em' bcoz wanna try another brand of psu  flex.gif

try enermax fma II, almost same price with CM real power series

nope,i'm not using cm one....i'm using intel 550w pure power that taken down from a big server one....is it the problem of psu?

I once OC my Northwood 3.0GH @ 3.15G with Gigabyte 848P chipset. now change to Abit IS7-E 865PE i cannot get 3.15G to run stable. both ram and timing stay default like previous mobo. what went wrong?
*

865 suppose to be way better than 848 ler... u should set ur timing manually... try 2.5-3-3-7 1st...(assuming ur RAM is DDR400) hmm.gif

actually also find ppl to oem for them one la....

I guess server PSUs are very reliable if you never read the specifications wrongly, perhaps its even more reliable than most expensive PSUs since server are meant to run 365/7/24! But I never thought Intel manufacture PSUs! Perhaps only for servers, curious to see the pics wink.gif

im using e6600 and dq6.
beside easytune5, what software that i can use to monitor vcore n temp of my proc accurately? im using cpuiz and systool but both software just show 1.31. In bios i have set vcore 1.34v. any idea?

for temp u can try TAT and coretemp.
for both vcore and temp u can try Everest.

that is called vdrop. u won't get exact vcore as u set in bios all the time. wink.gif

me using DQ6 also kena vdrop la,i set 1.52 but it shown only 1.47....pic will be uploaded soon.

Ok, thanks friends...

After install Intel TAT, my cpu at idle temp around 42c. Normal or not? 2.88GHz 1.33Vcore. Load temp around 50c.

Ermm, just did some overclocking using e6400, gigabyte ds3 using a thermaltake btvx heatsink and CM Nanofusion. I think i might have added the thermalpaste wrongly.. Anyway just letting you guys check whether everything is correct.

how u applied the paste?
your voltage you set to auto, if auto they will set your vcore very high.......
basSist
@CyberTroop

ur temp is high. E6400 with btvx at 3.0Ghz shouldn't have so high temp there. check ur vcore and make sure not to set as Auto like deric88 said. set it between 1.325v-1.375v. and also make sure ur thermal paste spread evenly on the IHS. not too much and not too little.
CyberTroop
Ok this are my voltages:
FSB OverVoltage +0.2V = Normal
(G)MCH Voltage +0.1V = Normal
CPU Voltage at 1.375V

Issit ok?

Mobo: Gigabyte 3D Aurora

RAM: Corsair ddr2 800 mhz performance
CPU: Core 2 Duo e6400
Heatsink: Thermaltake btvx
Thermalpaste: CoolerMaster NanoFusion
Casing: Gigabyte 3D Aurora

Settings for my bios-
CPU Clock Ration: 8x
CPU Host Frequesncy: 380 Mhz
PCI Express Frequency: 1000Mhz
DRAM Timing: 5-5-5-12
DDR2 Overvoltage Control +0.2v
FSB OverVoltage +0.2V: Normal

CyberTroop...
Ur temp too high.

FYI, im using E6600 + DQ6 + Thermalright XP-120(old heatsink)...
Run SP2004, the highest load temp is 60c (monitor using TAT).
My setting in bios, vcore 1.350v, cpu clock=384x9=3.45Ghz

i have problem with my processor temps.

ok here's the prob:

before i remove the cooler, the temps are normal = CPU = 45C idle, Cores = 53C idle.

after i remove the HSF and reapply new AS5 paste (rice method) the temp went so high even at idle = 57C+, Core = 65C+ blink.gif

no matter how many times i try to re-sit the heatsink, still the same! unsure.gif unsure.gif

even at stock speed vs overclocked speed, the temps are still the same. At Load, it reach over 80C but when i touch the heatsink, NOT hot! only a lil bit warm.

what could be the problem? icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

hm.. ur ddr2 dont need to add voltage since u didnt oc ur ram.
PCI-E frequency = 1000.. ur typo or what? should be set as 100

over heat maybe caused by the case. the case dont really have a good air flow i think.

What is the best software that can be used to stress the cpu usage? im using SP2004. Running 2 SP2004, cpu0, cpu1, cpu usage only around 50%. How to stress 90% and above? Never using TAT, is it safe? Help me plz. Just want to ensure my proc very stable at 3.45GHz....

My system setting in bios for DQ6:

CPU clock = 384x9 = 3456MHz
Vcore = 1.34V
RAM clock = 384 x 2.0 = 768MHz
RAM timing = 4-4-4-12 (2T)
Idle temp = 46c
Max Load temp = 60c (monitor using TAT)
8800GTX, 600Mhz (core), 1902Mhz (memory), 56c (idle temp), 74c (max load temp)

Current stress test:

1. 3DMark06, 1920x1200, 8xAA, 16xAS - 10 times repeat - PASS
2. 3DMark05, 1920x1200, 8xAA, 16xAS - 10 times repeat - PASS
3. 2xSP2004, Blend stress CPU and RAM, Priority 1 - 8 hours - PASS (cpu0,cpu1)

Thanks for any idea, feedback or recommendation.... icon_rolleyes.gif

How to run 2x Prime95 in one shot?:

- copy and paste the prime95 folder.

- to run CPU stress test : option -> torture test -> custom.
Set min FFT to 8K, max FFT to yr L2 cache size. TICK 'run in place FFT' and set to 1 min.

- to run RAM stress test : option -> torture test -> custom.
Set min FFT to 8K, max FFT to 4096K. RAMsize = 1/10th of yr system RAM, UN-TICK 'run in place FFT' and set to 1 min.

..................................................................................................................................................................

For HT/ Dual Core system
"i think for computers with HT, dual core, or other PCs with "more than one CPU" should have prime95 running on separate affinities. if it's not changed, then at the end of the day, regardless of how many instances of prime95 is run, your CPU utilisation would be 50% at most." - thanx myuu for reminder

Just search at yahoo bro...

Hmm...ok I have finished testing my system using Orthos, 100% cpu load.
As conclusion, i guess my proc stable enough running at 3.45GHz coz no error during running orthos (3 hours)and 3dmark06 (10 times).
But when running orthos, highest load temp is 67c. Maybe i need to change XP-120 with other cooler like noctua or ultra-120.

i experience it, the cooler starts up with blue led on, then suddenly the led went off for a second, the fan also slow down a bit for a second, then turns on like normal... dunno why but it happens only during startup, other than that, the cooler operates like normal (is that what u call cooler fan lag) unsure.gif
