I'm using E6300, manage to pass orthos for about 5 and a half hours @ 457x7 (3.2ghz) @ priority 9 with the following settings

Vcore: 1.35v
vdimm: 2.1 (using Kingston Value Ram @ 5-5-5-15 LoL )
vmch: +0.1
vfsb: +0.2 (or maybe +0.1)

Load temperature was 69c (aircond off) rclxub.gif

What you need to know? Summurize it ? Intel motherboard that is running on 925X and before cannot make overclocking on the motherboard itself. Is it understood for you?

Had u try diff bios? like F6, F7, F8i and latest F8??
kaiser_falco
im on f7...now about to download f8...wat f8i anyway?beta or modified?
mikelanding
F8i is beta which seem good to me...F8 is official bios, but many said is not that good for extreme OC...
king99
Well...when I enable the Auto Voltage control...My Temp 70c,when I select manual. My temp became 65c......E6300 2.9GHZ.Wonder what's the use of the voltage control in the F7 bios ?

when u set Auto Voltage, the mobo will automatically adjust the voltage needed by the proc for its clock speed. So it auto increasing vcore and temp too. buthen if u set it manually the vcore wont increase.

i think i am not explaining well, anyone can help? laugh.gif
king99
Well....If OC to 2.9GHZ can set manual ?

still having no luck...cant get new bios yet seem like the internet international site is down...guess i ran my pc on standard setting now...

2GB is still ok ,but i think that the Willi can't overclock very high speed.Mostly around 2.1 or 2.2GHz would be the max speed as it's generating a lot of heat.

Ahh, probably thats the problem. using F8i, i manage to run my e6300 2.8ghz @ 1.185v, passed overnite orthos. But once i changed to F8, the lowest vcore i can boot into is 1.206v (cant remember the exact decimel!)

Anyway, can you point me to where you've read about the quirks concerning the F8 bios? thanks

One more question, what do you do when you get looping restarts? its kinda annoying and i still cant find a way on how to make the cmos reset (other than doing the whole jumper thinggy offcourse). It will reset like randomly after 5 restarts or so. rclxub.gif hmm.gif

I once OC my Northwood 3.0GH @ 3.15G with Gigabyte 848P chipset. now change to Abit IS7-E 865PE i cannot get 3.15G to run stable. both ram and timing stay default like previous mobo. what went wrong?

Your statement is a bit blur, put a screenie of CPU-Z,then we can help you.To change the RAM timing, you have to do it in bios mode.

erm.. how come kenot reach 3.0gig?. what ram u r using?? maybe your ram bottleneck your system..

as you will need 429fsb x 7 to get 3.0 gig, then if u are using value ddr2-533 ram, the ram might be unable to reach 429fsb.. the situations happen to many of my fren here sad.gif

RAM multipiler should set 2x
Normally can reach 380 to 400Fsb, more than tht need some luck and increase vCOre

Actually 1st thing is we dont recommend u o'c with CM PurePower series.
If small o'c maybe can la..

If lucky then just pc reboot.. if bad luck can spoil your mobo or proc one. Careful
