dang u! tongue.gif

but anyway i'm quite happy with this p5w dh. last time i used p5b deluxe and 2 of the reasons i dont really like it are because it's not so compatible with my ram (memtest failed even at stock) and bcoz it keep switch off and on again every time i restart pc..

for this p5w dh, the latest beta bios fixed the reboot bug biggrin.gif and i've no problem with my memory..

but deep inside my heart, i like abit bcoz of its professional looks (not bcoz of its blink2 led laugh.gif )

there is no easy way in OC. Wat my advise is read more, try more, ask more and might make few mistake along the way...
There is no 1 suggestion/instrustion/manual/way in OC..all about LUCK and lot of try and error...

Good luck

P/S: U might want to be more humble in asking help, that will ensure U to get more helping hand... Cheer

Assuming you've locked your PCIe bus and memory...

Did you flash your BIOS to the latest?

My system is about the same as yours - except mine is a S3 board and a 6300 CPU. The BIOS that came with my motherboard exhibit EXTREME instability. I have a feeling it was clocking my PCIe bus as well no matter what I set in the BIOS. Flashing to the newest BIOS solved this.

What is your CPU temp? If it's hitting 70C, there's something wrong. Make sure your heatsink installation is OK.

baok
i think your answer is in post #2.. do you lock your pci speed at 100MHz???

C2D doesnt benifit much from a tighter memory timing compare to AMD.. wink.gif
I would advice you to throw the NO brand PSU... PSU is like the heart of a human body... you decide important or not... cool.gif

Since you OC a better heart is crucial to pump more stable and enough blood to the system..

Try to get a 450V and above true power PSu.. Super good brands are PCPC, Seasonic, Delta, Tagan and FSP... good brands : antec, Cooler master (true power series), Aopen (700W) and Topower.

I also o'clock this baby to 400*9 =3600..

But i face the HDD prob too previously...The HDD timeout and cannot shut down.

Yesterday i foud out that i didn't move the HDD jumper...tongue.gif...Now malas to try already.... After HDD timeout, will create a lot of error event in OS...Tired to do that format and reinstall things again...

So in sumarry, this E6600 can o'clock well... It can do >400FSB with no prob...

I think the most importance things for o'clock is:

Press Ctrl +F1 in MAIN MENU and try this settings..

CPU Host clock control : Enabled
CPU Host Freq : 400
PCI Express Feq :100

MCH "" "" "" :+0.2V

Normal cpu Vcore: 1.4V

Ram timing depend on your ram. Some said the BIOS got some prob with D9 RAM...(Cannot o'clock >1000)

what is ur bios setting...
mine:
core :1.331
gmch:+0.2
pcie:+0.1
fsb:+0.2

ram set at 2x multiplier...
and disable all those EIST, Virtual blabla, etc

why dun u set ur vcore to 1.35v and then push the clock to 400x7=2.8g...see how, run dual spi 32m, and if ok, up the clock summore to 3ghz...then run spi 32m again...

good luck
