Started install WinXP x64 on 12pm, and just finish reinstalling all my apps back just now. Damn, it took me half day to work on it.
anyway, here's a brief review by me. System specs as below:
AMD64 2800+ running on 1810MHz
MSI K8N Neo3-F 7135 (socket 754)
Kingston 512MB ddr400
Maxtor 80GB SATA HDD
MSI NX6600 128MB
Sony CD-ROM
LG GSA-4163b dvd-writter
Liteon external combo drive
The copy i got on hand is the final version (not RCs or Betas) together with the MUI (Multilingual User Interface) pack on another CD. The installation won't run if you insert the disc on current Windows. An error will pop out notifying you that you need to do a clean installation (cannot be upgraded from current versions of Windows)
Before you start your installation, do remember to download all your hardware drivers! For mine, i got it from:
Processor, motherboard ->
http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/down...?UID=642&kind=1graphics card - >
ForceWare 66.96 x64the rest all using default windows driver
Then everything looks like normal WinXP installation.

Well, except the boot screen will be a black screen (as usual) with a line "Windows XP Professional x64 Edition".
And suprisingly, none of my Antivirus/Firewalls work on the new platform. F-prot, ZoneAlarm, Sygate, all failed and rolled back during the installation. F-prot manage to install itself but it gives an error everytime i boot my windows, so had to uninstall it. Now using Avast 4.6 which is x64 compatible.
Now my hardwares were all compatible except 2: my 56k dialup modem and my HP 1010 laserjet.

Haha, i even got my Logitech MOMO Racing running with its official x64 driver!
Some screenies:
1. System Info (x64, but dunno why no more "Physical Extension bla bla")

2. The strange twin IE, haha. one in 32-bit and another is 64-bit. And suprise, the windows update also come with 2 version. WTH...

3. The task manager is slightly different too. Now it is able to differentiate which process belongs to 32-bit platform and which is x64.

Now waiting for the HP laserjet driver, and hopefully it won't ake long. After 1 hour of test run, from my experience Adobe Photoshop CS2 runs faster than last time. The rest of the apps like Office, Mozilla are still the same. I can tell you that there is not much difference before and after the upgrade.
some confirmed working apps:
1. Mozilla Firefox v1.06
2. Java J2SE v5.06 (it runs on IE 64-bit)
3. Nero 6.0.0.16
4. Msoft Office 2003
p/s: strange enough, there is no toolbar for WMP anymore

. wth once again...
