ghostky, I just bought sunpak 888AFZ(canon Mount), it is great for my low budget. If you can spend more, I recommend you get a Sunpak 383 Super or the panasonic PE-36S (GN:50).

Just remember to check the trigger voltage since our FZ hotshoe is only compliant to ISO 10330 or below 24V. The old type of flash which has hight trigger voltage (>200V) will burn our camera. cry.gif

Get Emoblitz flash unit......lot's of FZ20 user using it......cheap and quality flash! Have bounce and swivel head and zoom head too!

Dedicated flash like Canon, Nikon, Minolta or Pentax mostly won't work in FZ20, I've tested Nikon SB15, sometimes can sometimes kenot trigger da flash. So in da save side better don't get those dedicated flash, moreover it's much more expensive than Manual / Auto ISO flash leh!

Okie back to topic....
Y dun put da namelist of the owner of FZ** user.......so can easily reconized like.

3.

Bla bla bla the list goes on and on...woudn't it be much more easier?

What do u mean by Canon Mount?

Do u mind posting some images of your flash?

U might wanna check out ClubSnap and Steves Digicams.........lots of FZ20 user use dat too....and lotsa Korean FZ20 user.use dat Flash too......Emoblitz origin from Singapore...StevesForums lots of user uses Sunpak 383S but it's already stop production and u can't even find it in Malaysia or Singapore..well u can opt for other flash.....it's juz a matter of personal taste... U can mount SB800 or 580EX provided it works!..IMHO it's not worth spending so much on Dedicated flash...Sigma dedicated also around RM600++..... FZ20 uses ISO hotshoe.....so u can't use TTL mode.....

The sunpak 888AFZ has 3 types of mount to support Canon/Nikon/Pentax. The only mount that match FZ is the canon one. Others will not fire the flash.

The drawback is a bit waste of its TTL capability as FZ does not support that. You can only fire the flash, has no control over the light power. The good things are it has high GN ...around 32, and selectable zoom head (28-35-50-85mm).

Actually it is not a wise choice and a bit waste to buy the dedicated TTL flash as FZ does not supprt, but too bad that not many choices in Penang, very hard to find a low budget and good flash. You may search around at ur place, might get a one that suit you.

fyi, here is the outlook:

The front tread of the lens hood adapter is 72mm. Hoya UV filter cost RM80. It is advisable to get Phayee Adapter which have dual tread - 62mm and 72mm. Therefore get a 62mm Filter is much more cheaper than 72mm if u wanna get lotsa filter eg CPL, UV, ND, Macro filter. It still worth get a Phayee Adapter. Moreover Phayee Adapter 62mm tread is nearer to the lens thus minimize reflection between the filter and the lens compared to the original lens hood adapter.. biggrin.gif

FZ20 doesn't really support IR Filter, which I means it can't really detect IR well compared to other camera. That's the weakness of FZ20...hmm..

Here's how's Emoblitz DS328AZ looks like:

Ahem~ u having a Hi fever on flash liao.... panny FZ20 do support it .. although it have strong IR-blocking filters and are less suitable for infrared photography but-then it allows the camera to record only the near infrared light ...

do this test
CODE
1. First, test your digicam. point your TV(or any Infrared) remote controller at your digicam, press the remote(any button), view through your LCD preview or snap a image if you use DSLR. If you can see your remote's bulb lighted(usually in light pink), then your digicam is able to do IR shoot.

but mine was purple.. hmmm huh.gif

cheewooi, nice post on the Emoblitz flash! Now, I'm wondering WHY didn't Panasonic AT LEAST put a Slave Flash connection on the FZ5????? This flash would be an excellent partner...
